The hotel is sooo nice. I love it. I guess though, all areas in Japan are safe, regardless of where you go.

I just can't get enough of how much efficiency the Japanese can muster without compromising the beauty and sense of comfort. Amazing.

Superb hotel. Looks very ‘Japanese’. When I eventually get to have my dream trip to Japan that is the sort of place I must stay in. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Good idea! Yes, try to get a traditional hotel at first. It makes the experience so much more rich.

Another great clip, Sarah. The hotel is in my old quarters between Nakasu and Hakata. It looks absolutely great. Big rooms though for many people. Great location. When I first came to Fukuoka some 20 +years ago I managed to book a small, almost onsen like hotel in Shirogane near Yakuin. Totally traditional, very cheap, a bathtub in the room and a bigger public bath downstairs, futons made every evening and a rice snack or sandwich plus an alco drink on the table when I got home in the evening. I think it may be closed now, I do not find it on Google, but there are many others to find. Never mind if it is not in Tenjin or central, there are trains and buses handy. The experience of a traditional Japanese hotel adds so much for a visitor.

I loooove the design of that hotel!! It's so nice!! I bet it was a soothing fragrance - I love being surrounded by that fresh woody smell haha. Genuinely one of the most cozy looking hotel rooms I've seen. The high quality features and applianecs were a nice touch.

I am very interested in that sort of accomodation. Especially as plan to travel to Fukuoka in 2024 to meet people and enjoy the city, then on my way to Southern Kyushu. Question please - Watching you work your way through the little hotel's brochure, had me concerned. If I can't read or speak Japanese, will it be difficult registering, finding the place, etc. This why in the past, I have opted to stay at hotels close to JR Hakata. Do you think non Japanese can book and find Tsurezure without too many problems? Thank you. UPDATE - Actually I did an experiment and followed your link. To my great relief it is in English and very easy to follow. I am 100% confident I can do it. Question please - Are there place to eat within walking distance of the accomodation? Thank you.

  • @TokyoFoodieSarah

Yes there are a few restaurants within walking distance! Also, it’s only a 15 minute walk to an area called Nakasu where there are a lot of restaurants

Yes, it is not complicated to book. If you do it in English it may take a day or two to get an answer. But definitively possible. And also, yes, lots of good restos in the area, walking distance. A very good Korean just next door and a good motsu place towards Reisen Park. Then Nakasu, Tenjin and Hakata, Canal City etc very close. An excellent location.

local bus is very easy and quick and you can not really get lost. I do not remember the number now and it might have changed. Just ask at the information at Hakata St.
