Hey everyone, when you fill up on coolant make sure you dilute it with distilled water. It should be about a 50/50 mix. I realize I didn’t mention that in the video

Did you add distilled water on top of the coolant in the tank or?

nicely done! had the vent only break yesterday and the shop replaced the upper hose for no reason it would seem. well known and respected place. happy to have the repair done but not happy to replace a part that was not needed and the extra labor.

Great video , mine broke and I did not know what to do since I thought it was more difficult but after this video I fixed by my self . Thanks a lot

Great video! Mine decided to break while driving downtown in Chicago. Not the best experience. One thing to add, bleed the coolant system once the hose has been replaced. Should only take an extra 10 minutes and very easy to do.

Thanks so much for the video! I actually just did this repair a few minutes ago It was way easier than I was expecting. I didn’t even have to add coolant, which surprised me because of how dramatic the issue began: I had just gotten done driving so it was a hot engine, I open it up to take a look and see the hose you replace and the one running parallel with it across the hood along the intake are literally melting from the heat of that metal pipe next to them, and I guess they got really bad really fast because they must’ve slipped from the guides or some thing at some point but basically at this point it had gotten bad and the hose literally burst from the connection point with a really dramatic steam explosion in my face 🤦‍♂️ I have a question for OP, if you can answer it you will be my hero right now! Do you happen to know the part number or name of the other shiity rubber hose that runs parallel with it? I should replace it too..

It’s either a vacuum line or I’m almost certain it’s the cable for the hood release.

@@NikitaAnnenkov It is likely a cable for the hood release. The outer liner tends to melt.

I hope you added Distilled water to that coolent 👀. It’s Concentrated and should be mixed half and half. FYI, my Expansion hose just popped in the same location 2 hours ago as well.

Bro same here, just get the hose from the dealer, shop was charging me $500.00 !!! Takes 10 minutes or Less to change , Thanks for your content always

This happened but when I went to go burp the coolant since all mine leaked out the coolant reservoir tank screw cap melted and now I need a whole new tank 🤦🏽‍♂️

Ah man that sucks… Did you do it yourself or did you have a shop replace the tank?

Did it make your car over heat??

What happens if you didn't fix or replace that hose ? Does it rise or drop the temperature gauge? Or both . Mine , its been like a year its broken and not yet fixed, having my trmp gauge dropping little , wonder if thats what makes it drop,,, altho just replaced the thermostat

did you ever find out what that rpm jump was after install ? im assuming i need to do the bleed procedure to get any excess air out

Maybe the CEL came on because the car sensed the coolant is low? If so, since you refilled the coolant, it should go away on its on in time (try even just urning the car on and off). You can also try manually clearing the CEL and see if it comes back

If you are going to add new coolant and replace the old one you should have flushed out the coolant and perform a bleed procedure in order to get rid of all the bubbles.

I believe I hats what the bleeder screw is for, at least from what I’ve researched
