Coaches meeting with families is essential since that coach will be around their son the most and be mentoring the young man. Many families understand that a college degree is important, as is character building. Norvell understands the money part but team culture is high priority.

I hate the SEC fans. Part of my love for FSU was that we were better than everybody in that conference without having to be “one of them”. The constant nut hugging and riding theyve gotten is sickening. They have indeed been the best conference I just think the gap between them and the other conferences has always been greatly exaggerated until now of course because they have everybody.

@@jason15212 agree. And the idea that they are bringing a ton of their mouth breathing fans to Tallahassee seems incredibly overestimated. I don't want to be around those people anymore than the UF people who I already hate being around. Feels a little self serving to the warchant guys who clearly aren't interested in B1G travel.

Big ten gets paid more and is more prestigious for the university overall.

The financial gap is minimal when considering hundreds of millions of dollars. Also, I am sure that has been addressed by Greg Sankey with ESPN and I expect that gap will be reduced or eliminated in their next look into the contract.

Shannon helps defensive play calling/scheming for games and also develops very well. Don’t know if canning him is an automatic upgrade in any sense

How many FSU fans from FL travel to NC for a game or BC or Pitt? Most FSU fans at a game are from that area. That won’t be any different if we’re in the SEC or Big 10. Once the novelty wears off, very few people are traveling every year for a game.

I’m an FSU alum that lives in Virginia, I have been to UNC, Duke, UVA and VT games up here and seen an excellent showing of FSU fans up here. There are a lot of alums up here and quite a few that travel from Florida and Georgia. I think that should FSU join the B1G there will be an excellent representation at those games also.

Can’t keep blaming it on money when it’s the same guy missing at some point it’s your fault and partially Norvell fault. You can go 0-3 on all your targets in the same day. I get that some don’t care as much because they’ve already lived through the dynasty but it’d nice to see something close to that again. Arkansas is where I draw the line man😂.. yes he chose them over Georgia too but I’m sure Georgia doesn’t CONSTANTLY whiff at the position either. We always make excuses for the dude. Nobody is dumb enough to think NIL isn’t involved but it can’t be NIL every time. He just got beat again. This is a one off for Georgia but a constant for FSU at LB.

Of course it can be NIL every time. FSU has obviously made the decision to not be leveraged by high school hopefuls. It’s frustrating if you root for recruiting like many of todays reality show lovers. ❄️

You guys sound silly this not the NFL recruiting doesn’t matter there cuz players are drafted and paid multi million dollar salaries, kids aren’t going to commit to a coach that isn’t going to actually coach them

Hell, we played Pitt with Marino, Auburn with Bo, So Miss with Favre, LSU, scUM, UF, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, along with Tulsa, Tulane, ECU, So. Illinois, Louisville and West Virginia. And we played teams like Nebraska and OSU in bowl games. We were the any place and any time, in your own backyard football program! So I guess the ACC was a good move for other sports from Hoops to Women's soccer.

You do realize that a lot of our brand (money) is due to how unique and dynamic Osceola and renegade is as well as the warchant. FSU without our brand is way less desirable. I for one love the relationship we have with the Seminole Tribe

A couple of the teams from the metro should have joined the acc to begin with

WAKE UP ASLAN!! We will NOT forget what SEC/ESPN did! We may be able to hold our noses and join SEC if push comes to shove, but that day and those people deserve the infamy in perpetuity. That absence of integrity should ALWAYS be front of mind to every real Noles fan! Again I say WAKE UP!

You are one man and one opinion. You are thinking with your heart and not your head. The SEC is so obviously a much better choice. However, I totally understand what you're coming from and I was very mad over what happened as well. But, after about a month I sat down and I made out a list of pros and cons for which conference to join (considering we get invitations) The SEC overwhelmingly had more pros than cons compared to the Big Ten. There is a huge contingent of FSU boosters and fans that simply do not want to engage in the debate anymore but strongly believe Florida State belongs in the SEC... And always has. Go Noles!

I wonder how many of those people out of 100 wanted the SEC BEFORE The Snub, Corey? I would say I have talked to roughly the same amount of people and most of them know the better business decision for the university, The city of Tallahassee and the athletic program, in spite of what happened, is the SEC.

Yeah I disagree with everything you said about joining the SEC. Both of you sound ridiculous speaking about the merits of the SEC. Sure they slapped you in the face and spit on you. But in the long run you'll get over it and it will be better for you. No I won't. And no it won't.

Also, SEC is Cult-like. I hate them for that. BIG10 you would go to Collisium and Oregon and big house, and Ohio State stadiums. I believe FSU fans are chomping to travel to those spots

The scheduling is a big Problem with Joining the Big 10 you’d lose out on playing Miami and other rivals for a game against UCLA the Big 10 is also very top Heavy Unlike the SEC and FSU is definitely Fits in The SEC Better just as a fan base at Geographically but I wouldn’t be mad with more money and the Big is horrible at everything else except For Football , Hockey, Lacrosse and FSU doesn’t even have team in those sports
