ഒരാൾ ഒരു സുന്ദരി പെണ്കുട്ടിയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തു . ജീവിതം സമാധാനപരമായി നീങ്ങവേ, ഒരുനാൾ അവൾക്കൊരു ത്വക്ക് രോഗം പിടിപെട്ടു. സൌന്ദര്യം കുറയാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അതിനിടെ ഒരു യാത്ര പോകേണ്ടി വന്ന ഭർത്താവിന് ഒരപകടം സംഭവിച്ചു. അയാളുടെ കാഴ്ച നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. രോഗാവസ്ഥയിലും ഭാര്യ ഭർത്താവിനെ ഒരു കുറവുമില്ലാതെ നോക്കി. അവളുടെ അസുഖം കൂടി വരുകയും അതിവിരൂപയായി അവൾ മാറുകയും ചെയ്തു. അന്ധനായ ഭർത്താവ് ഇതൊന്നും അറിഞ്ഞില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ അവരുടെ ജീവിതം പഴയ പോലെ സന്തോഷമായി നീങ്ങി. ഒരുനാൾ അവൾ മരണപ്പെട്ടു. അതീവ ദുഃഖിതനായ ഭര്ത്താവ് അവളുടെ അന്ത്യ കർമ്മങ്ങൾ നിർവ്വഹിച്ച ശേഷം ആ നഗരം വിട്ടു പോകാനൊരുങ്ങി. ആരോ ഒരാൾ ചോദിച്ചു : നിങ്ങളെങ്ങനെയാണ് ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക്.. ഇത്രയും ദിവസവും ഭാര്യയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു ഓരോ ചുവടിലും കൂട്ടായി.. ഇനിയെങ്ങനെ... ? അയാള് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു :ഞാൻ അന്ധനല്ല സുഹൃത്തേ. ഞാൻ അഭിനയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എനിക്ക് കാഴ്ചയുണ്ടെന്നും അവളുടെ വൈരൂപ്യം ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും മനസ്സിലാക്കിയാൽ, ആ അറിവാണ് അവളുടെ അസുഖത്തെക്കാൾ എന്റെ ഭാര്യക്ക് ആഘാതമാവുക. അവളൊരു നല്ല ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നു. ജീവിതത്തിൽ അവളുടെ സന്തോഷമാണ് ഞാനേറ്റവും ആഗ്രഹിച്ചത്. *ചില സമയത്തു കൂടെയുള്ളവരുടെ ചില കുറവുകൾ കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കുക. അത് ജീവിതത്തിൽ സന്തോഷമേ കൊണ്ട് വരൂ. ഒരു നഷ്ടവും അതുണ്ടാക്കില്ല. *നാവിനു എത്രയോ തവണ പല്ലുകളുടെ കടിയേൽക്കുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും അവ ഒരുമിച്ച്. അതാണ്‌ വിട്ടുവീഴ്ച. *കണ്ണുകൾ പരസ്പരം കാണുന്നില്ല. എന്നിട്ടും അവ ഒന്നിച്ചു മാത്രം കാഴ്ചകൾ കാണുന്നു, ചിമ്മുന്നു, കരയുന്നു. അതാണ്‌ ഒരുമ. * ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് എനിക്ക് പറയാം. ഒരുമിച്ച് നമുക്ക് സംസാരിക്കാം. *ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് എനിക്ക് ആസ്വദിക്കാം. ഒരുമിച്ചാണെങ്കിൽ അത് ആഘോഷമാവും. *അതാണ്‌ ബന്ധങ്ങൾ. ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് നമ്മളാരും ഒന്നുമല്ല; ഒന്നിനുമാവില്ല നമുക്ക് *മൂർച്ചയുള്ള ബ്ലേഡ് കൊണ്ട് മരം മുറിക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല. മൂർച്ചയുള്ള മഴു കൊണ്ട് മുടി മുറിക്കാനുമാകില്ല. *എല്ലാ ഓരോരുത്തരും പ്രധാനരാണ് ;അവരവരുടെ റോളുകൾ ഭംഗിയാക്കാൻ അവരു തന്നെ വേണം. ആരെയും വിലകുറച്ച് കാണാൻ നമുക്ക് അർഹതയില്ല കടപ്പാട് :
