As a child, I saw Bromeliads [didn't know the names then] growing on Guango trees which were near the Rio Minho River. When the trucks, heavily laden, and well stacked with cut sugar cane on their way to Sevens Sugar factory drove under the branches reaching far across the roadway, the Bromeliads would often get dislodged, only to be crushed under the wheels of other vehicles, including donkeys! Having "said" all that, yes, Bromeliads can grow on hosts, other than in earth/dirt

I've grown accustomed to them in the garden but you're right, a lot of people are fearful of them even though they are harmless.

Wow!! that's such a lovely garden and Shawn is really knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. My experience with the bromeliads are that the mosquitoes will breed in them, however if you spray them when you spray your other plants it eliminates the mosquitoes. I really enjoyed this tour. Thanks for taking us along. 🥂

Thanks Orchid Doc. It is possible that Sean doesn't have mosquitoes in the bromeliads because he spays weekly.

Sean love what he does. We can tell by the excitement in his voice. The variegated mohoe bears a lovely orange flower

I thought he’s the owner ,very lucky owner ,he does his job very well ,where can you find a gardener like him ,only wealthy people can own huge house plus a very huge beautiful garden that has everything coupled with a very hardworking gardener what more could you ask for ,it’s truly an amazing house with a huge garden and humungous plants ,wow !

I came across it on Saturday and have found myself walking around with my device to watch the different episodes on the channel. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful......Shawn is a rear gem, anyone of us would want to steal. He loves flowers n he loves God, a profound statement. Just one correction though, these bromeliads are epiphytes like orchids not parasites. Another great n interesting video Madam Fay.🎉🎉🎉

Thanks Redrose. You're correct; bromeliads ,like orchids, are epiphytes as they only grow on objects or other plants for support and do not feed on them as parasitic plants do.

I just recently discovered this Channel and I can't get enough of it. I like all the videos I have watched; nonetheless, I really, really like this one. I appreciate all the tips and knowledge that Shawn is sharing. His statement toward the end of the video about plants being the nature of God is a gem for referencing. A really nice video to share and watch over and over.

This garden is stunning. Its true, you have to love plants to take such good care of them. Another fabulous tour HHG! 😀

I believe he would have enhanced the soil. The orchids are not planted in soil however

please tell me how to use peroxide as a spray and how does he manage white flies
