I had a really great time out at Durango and all thanks to my friend Jake. Him as well as a couple other people made this trip possible.
If you enjoy listening to steam locomotives work, seeing the surroundings of one of the most beautiful places in the world, and of corse love trains, this video is for you.
We will ride the Silverton and get to see some extra stuff along the way.
Our train was pulled by a K-36 class 2-8-2 as well as a K-28 class 2-8-2. I did not expect a doubleheader but I will never forget it! We had a blast with the entire ride and being able to railfan the train in the days after.
A big shoutout to the Durango and Silverton for their hospitality and the crews who help keep this experience alive. Their dedication goes with much appreciation!
I strongly suggest you take this trip if you ever visit Colorado. It is worth every cent and it is a life changing experience which makes you appreciate railroading in so many more aspects.
