I Made The First Part Of This Video In March 2013. This Is The Second Half Of The Trip From Michigan City To South Bend. I Also Got Some Stills And Action Shots At Michigan City And Michiana Regional Airport (South Bend)

Good video. I have never seen the inside of South Bend Indiana Airport before. I was also reading the mile markers as they passed by quickly. I did once take a Southshore line train to South Bend Indiana to see the train station at the airport for my birthday.
It's odd getting to see this without my knees being smashed into the seat in front of me.
It looks like second unit is a former Iowa Interstate u it.Do not know why South shore does not allow bikes year round and why a small high level platform can not be installed here for bicyclist and wheelchairs
I still remember when they came all the way into downtown South Bend.
Im a choo choo train and I approve this video!
This is absolutely sick! Thanks so much for uploading this!
I sure like the sound of these horns. If the NorthShore Line and Chicago Aurora and Elgin were operating today you'd hear these exact same horns. Also their cars would look virtually identical to the single level South Shore Line cars.
After you left Hudson Lake it was all New Carlisle. Rolling Prairie is west of Hudson lake. I went to High School in New Carlisle.

I think the site of the old New Carlisle station was at around 30:20. Now there's talk of closing the Hudson Lake station and opening a new one just west the New Carlisle Industrial Park; it would be between 30:35 and 30:40, where the mobile home park is now.
New rail sidings I have never seen before. I have been looking into the news of the train line. Online they were talking about adding a new double track where there is only one single track.
Michigan City native here.
Last time I rode it ....it went to downtown SB........
BOB !!!!!!
Although I personally HATE passenger views so much lol, 'll never know why the South Shore Line only stops at Hudson Lake 4 times (during the weekdays, the last SSL train from Chicago Millennium Station is 7:10pm and drops passengers off at Hudson Lake at 9:22pm, although during the weekends & holidays, it stops at Hudson Lake 5 times).
