Security and friendly people shouldn't be problem for you. Just research on "Is Nepal my taste or not?" Don't visit if it doesn't match your preferences. Nepal is basically for those people who enjoys nature, culture and adventures. There are other things also but selling point is nature,truly nature. Your travel's likelihood also depends on the season you're going to travel. Nepal is small country but biodiversity is very rich. And yes Nepal is celebrating Tourism year in 2020. i live in kathmandu. i know the city is beautiful but didn't know it was this beautiful. despite the air pollution, bad roads(in some areas), traffic jams, inflation etc this city will always be the best place in the world for me. Buddhists believe that Kathmandu valley is a 'beyul' a sacred valley blessed by Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche(the second Buddha). If you are person with a creative or spiritual sensibility you will feel a special connectiion with this city.
