We miss you so much Dark Mane. I cry every time I see his videos. I know some people might think it strange, but he was a magnificent lion, and captured our heart. Dark Mane linked up with Mohawk just days before his demise, so it was nice for us to see them reunited. It's a shame Blondie had died just weeks before. We'll never forget you Dark Mane 🦁💙

Forgive me for jumping in and changing the subject... (I also loved dark mane) and used to follow all the prides in the area. I made myself stop watching these videos for a time because of things like this happening. In fact it was because I didn't want to find out if Red Road got over turned as leader of his pride because he was on his own and there were a couple of lions sniffing about, so at that point I couldnt take it if anything happened to Red Road. He's my absolute favourite 🦁!! Anyway, sorry... as I was saying does anyone know ow when and how did blondie (avoka) pass away?

@@stella6051 I believe he was killed by another male, from what I heard. I’ll find out for sure & let you know. (I have a friend that knows about every lion in every pride)

@@stella6051 hi Stella. Blondie had tb, and never really recovered from an injury from a fight. I love Red Raod too, I'm so happy he recovered. It is hard watching these magnificent creatures sometimes, they really capture our hearts 🦁💕

Thank you Tintswalo Safari Lodge & thank you Alistair. This kind tribute for our beloved Dark Mane is well deserved. He was a real champion. Dark Mane meant so very much to many people. I, like many was absolutely crushed & devastated losing him. He will live forever in our hearts. He was an absolutely magnificent lion, a wonderful father, and a loyal & loving brother. ❤️🦁❤️🦁❤️🦁❤️ He was so strong in spirit, he was extraordinarily resilient & so brave. To have survived as long as he did after that Buffalo incident is a remarkable achievement & a miracle. That shows how strong in spirit he was. He was loved by his Talamati’s to the point that they followed his scent many kilometres to southern Sabi Sands to find him, and bring him home! Now that’s astonishing & very telling on how loved by his family he was. I don’t know of any other Pride to do that. Dark Mane was a hugely successful dominant male of the Talamatis - he protected & loved his Pride for a couple of months shy of 5 years on his own!!! And to do all of that with a broken ankle! That alone is an outstanding effort & a testament to his reign & strength of character & a tangible display of love for his family. What a truly majestic King & one of a kind. My love for him is eternal. I hope his offspring are successful & live long, happy lives of their own and continue Dark Mane’s legacy & gene pool for many years to come. I love you my beautiful smiley boy, my beloved Dark Mane, Northern Avoca. Roar and Soar my precious boy. Rest in Eternal Peace Dark Mane. ❤️🦁❤️🦁❤️🦁❤️🦁❤️

Alister you forgotten to say Dark Mane and his sons hurted S8 male, they thought he wasn't going to live..but the S8 male live. They're wild animals, they all live by the sword And most of them died by the sword.. Love my dark Mane until I died. He was the best.

@@Tara_P_Rose yes I agree if they had call a vet and he had antibiotics and food, he with of live. They did it for Scarface The lion, and a couple more lions. I truly do miss him it not the same with out him. I am glad you and I have the Skorro Males. Love white Casper and his brothers. Nhehena and Nfumo jr. Birmingham male. Birmingham breakaway, and Mohawk, Giraffe prude Hercules., Sumatra, and a couple other lions I enjoyed

@@falanajerido875 yes I’m sure the vets could have done something if they tried. But yes we still have all our other wonderful lions! I can’t wait until the Birmingham breakaways have a pride of their own! I believe they will make great fathers & protectors.

Male lions really live a tough life. Thrown out of the pride they`re born in, trying to keep a low profile until fully grown, takeover a pride and establish dominance, always alert to defend his reign against intruders. Each one of them have to live a heroic life, Dark Mane definitely did, a symbol for endurance and toughness. 💌

Like many others, I'm still heartbroken, sad and still crying at moments when looking at videos of such an amazing and incredible successful fallen King. King Dark Mane was so amazing and he lives forever in our hearts. He is happy in his new home in Heaven living with King Blondie, Queen Silver Eye and other phenomenal giants who are no longer rivals. We were blessed to be able to come along for the ride. I loved the video used because that's how I want to always remember King Dark Mane as a very strong, stunning, fierce, and magnificent creature made whole again, even better, by way of God's mighty hands, Amen!

Unfortunately Buffalo kill and injure more lions than any other prey they pursue. RIP Big Guy!
