A Treatise On Carp And Film Emulation | URBAN CARP FLY FISHING ARIZONA | Dehancer Film Emulation

We occasionally get asked how we achieve certain looks in our videos. Film emulation can be a powerful tool to breath a little life into an otherwise clinical digital image. After shooting motion picture film for years, we're thrilled that technology has finally caught up to the point were realistic film emulation is possible. We're also thrilled that Arizona is brimming with carp, so we could scratch the fly fishing itch in the dead of winter.

Beautiful edit! That ditch at 8:30 looked so fun! I’ve targeted and caught a lot of carp but never on the fly. Exposing these overlooked urban fisheries which may be the only access many kids have to fishing is great, I think. I subbed and look forward to the next one!

Incredible video. I love the juxtaposition of urban and natural environments, all captured and evaluated through ‘the lens’ of analogue vs digital film making. You have an amazing talent for blending topics seamlessly in really interesting ways. Please keep producing high quality, against the grain material. Looking forward to it. Your style of filming and photography is so inspirational. Going back to trout. I think the style and attitude towards fly fishing in America is so much better than here in England. I just lose myself in your films, and the vastness of places in the USA. They are truly breathtaking. Glad I found Tight Loops. P.S. I love the history of American Folk Art fishing tackle. Lures, decoys (both duck and fish) and other items of tackle. But anyway thats another story. All the best and thank you.

Maybe my favorite Tight Loops offering ever (and I've liked them all). Didn't anticipate that it would be, because, while not at all a trout-only type, I've never been interested in carp. Should have trusted these creators though, to make carp artful. Great work.

Nah bro it’s more like you’re getting lost explaining all the details. You’re trying so hard to explain so many different things in as much detail as you can that it takes away from the video. It’s like you’re trying to stretch them into feature length films when they should be a good 15 minute video. Then everything has to be so dramatic. I understand everything doesn’t go to plan always but I want to feel good but the range of emotions (which is amazing that you can bring so many emotions it’s honestly amazing) I go through is honestly kind of taxing. I do prefer happier videos with fly fishing so that’s honestly a personal preference. The cinematography always brings me back though. Good stuff overall.
