I've revisited this piece so many times. I think I first found it in 2012 but it's always equally moving to me, each time I see it. The title suggests a handing off from one to the next but what really effects me is how shattered each dancer is after returning their partner to a state of grace and sending them off. The one who remains on stage is now afflicted but it reads so much more like loss and bereavement to me! And something about watching dancers with this much control falter, regain, and falter as they attempt normalcy is just heartbreaking! It's such strong work.

The repetition in this piece is beyond moving. Thank you for such magical work.
