A-TRAK PERFORMS AT THE KERWIN FROST TELETHON
Ойын-сауық
A-Trak gave us the scratching set of his life at the 1st Annual Kerwin Frost Telethon, benefitting the Know Your Rights Camp.
Watch him mix songs like Can’t Tell Me Nothing, What Happened to that Boy, and Robot Rock. This set is a real testament to the incredible DJ that A-Trak is.
Live from The Berrics in Los Angeles, the 1st Annual Kerwin Frost Telethon Supershow aired on August 16th 2020. The telethon was comprised of performances, educational news report segments, puppets dancing, PSAs, and of course a special Auction all in support of the Know Your Rights Camp. Other performers included A$AP Ferg, Anderson .Paak, Buddy, Chromeo, Dev Hynes, Hip Hop Harry, Ian Isiah, JPEGMAFIA, Kevin Abstract, Lil Yachty, Mac Demarco, Major Lazer, Miguel, The Interrupters, and Yo Gabba Gabba.
Colin Kaepernick & Nessa founded the Know Your Rights Camp in response to the continued police brutality and unjust murdering of Black people in the United States. KYRC is designed to serve as a safe space and home base for young kids, specifically Black youth ages 12-18, to educate and empower them through in-depth and localized information in: knowing your rights, knowing your history, holistic health, financial literacy, higher education, STEM education, and youth empowerment. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they began a relief fund to aid Black and Brown communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. In just a few months, they distributed thousands of pounds of food and thousands of PPEs. Also, they began a Legal Defense Initiative in May 2020 in response to the national outcry over the police murder of George Floyd. By partnering with top defense and civil rights lawyers, they provide legal resources for those in need. Together they have granted over $2 million to address the needs arising from these events. In case anybody doesn't know who A-Trak is or why he's a legend, let me fill you in. He won the DMC World DJ Championship at 15 in 1997 (the youngest winner ever at the time). Then, he was the first DJ to win the DMC, ITF, and Vestax (the three biggest DJ competitions at the time). After that, he became a member of the legendary scratch crew Invisibl Skratch Picklz, and then became Kanye's touring DJ from 2004 to 2008. He scratched on Gold Digger, and later while they were on tour he played Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger for Kanye (who later sampled it in Stronger). In 2007, he founded Fool's Gold records, the label which started Kid Cudi and Danny Brown's careers (along with many others), and to top it off he did the song Barbra Streisand (that dance song that was everywhere in 2010).

Pretty sure he's worked closely with Dipset too? His career went from hip hop to absolutely shredding the EDM scene. Nuthin but respect!
