I have followed Gage's progress and have to say for a GSD he has extreme drives. I remember when I first saw him how intense he was to the point of being scared for you of him. I have had 8 GSD's. My last was working Czech with good all around drives. Gage reminds me of my current dog a Dutch Shepherd. So intense. I have enhanced his drives but now working with a trainer to try and control them. When my dog ramps up like Gage he becomes difficult to control with some barrier frustration even can become handler aggressive. I had him evaluated with my NJ. state's K9 police academy and was told he passed all their tests. They said one of the best Dutchies he has seen. You have done a superb job with him. I kind of wish you were closer. I would definitely visit you if I had the ability too. Thanks for the videos.

Love love love. Could watch you guys all day. Question, maybe two... Does he have a sign that he needs a break or runs out of steam? Physical r mental signs he needs to take a breather or gets tired? Or do you have to be the one to "call it" so-to-speak? Also, I know you won't get in deep to this but just curious when you need to use the ecollar pressure most with Gage, of course maybe the "creeping" you said you missed. But just curious as he is pretty on par with most, and you tune up the faster "out" by lots of reps, minimal corrections (which is awesome). So I am just genuinely curious when or what you prwp for when needing to have that ecollar pressure ready! Great job. I love listening and watching you. I've told MiracleK9 to invite you to their podcast. I hope they reach out!

Gotta go with something that is a bit "less" to start.

Gage looks like and acts like my 5 yr old girl except my girl was not properly trained in impulse control. In spite of 3 previous GSDs none were high end working dogs. I did not fully understand the qualities of big bite and high prey drive in working dogs. Watching Gage shows the possibilities with such select dogs.

Hiya, I only recently came across you and your dogs. Yes your dogs really look like they are beaten to an Ince of their life's 😂😂😂 Joke aside, I like to see the moaners try and handle your types/ calibre of dogs. Sometimes you got fight fire with fire. Not sure if you aware of what's going on in the UK with the xl bully's attacking and killing people? Well I rather you keep the dogs under control even if I mean they get punished as oppose them getting randomly shot by the police in full public view. It comes across loud and clear that you love your dogs and my judgement from what I have seen so far, you would never unnecessary punishment them for no good reason. I would love to see some of them keyboard warriors come to your facility and handle the dogs. My thing is gun dogs or bird dogs and currently I have a 7 month puppy who is in foundation gun training.

Sport dog training with this type of dog is different. The pressure at this stage of training isn’t usually over the top. It’s dogs that are being prepped for high level competitions that get put under a lot of pressure. There’s also some e collar heavy trainers in general. As for your training, I think a place where you see that criticism is the off leash husky video.

  • @stevecanine

Where you see the criticism is from the ignoramuses over at GS forum. That biased moderator speaks nothing but dogma. I checked out the main criticizer's video of their own dog and it doesn't even come when called lol. You can't make that stuff up. Too funny. There was even a video on the same thread explaining body language and they didn't even watch it. Because if they did, they would understand how dumb they are :)
