If you use puzzle toys for your dog, especially the KONG dog toys then you know that what you put inside of them is very important.
Stuffing your dogs toys with the correct food and treats is important.
Using boring food inside of your dogs puzzle toys will not be very exciting to your dog and he won't be very interested in working to get the food out.
On the other hand if you use good treats and food that is exciting to your dog he will be very focused on working on the puzzle toy.
One trick that I like to do is to freeze the treats or food that I put inside of my dogs puzzle toy.
This way when I give the toy to my dog because the food is frozen together it is much more difficult to get the food out and lasts much longer.
In this video you will see a trick I use to turn my dog's regular kibble into something much more exciting inside of his puzzle toy.

I’m confused. You could have left the kibble in the container and put water in the container and let it sit for a while instead of putting dry kibble in the kong with water running over it.

My dog does not like food much but I have made this work with soaking in home made (no salt) bone broth. That really makes her interested.

Seems like you're rinsing the vitamins and minerals down the drain. Maybe use peanut butter to clog the tip, and then add just enough water for habe the food expand then freeze.

    J. Coop Or at least close the bottom opening with your finger to soak, then drain out-to conserve water!

I put my girl's kibble in her toy as well. I just mix in a little wet food to clump it all together.

I have a puppy and have tried this but she really does not like the taste of her food, Zignature Zssential. She pretty much lets the food sit until I mix in a fork of Merrick 96% beef pate and fully coat all of the kibble. Do you see any problem with freezing the kibble/pate mixture other than mess? Also the Zssential has really great reviews and really high Omega 3/6 levels but she is not into the taste. Do you have any recommendations for other dog foods? The Zssential kibble is turkey meat, turkey meal, duck meal, salmon meal, lamb meal, and no grains/chicken/potatoes.

Thanks Monika. I'll give Blue Wilderness a try if things don't get better with the latest food - Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula Puppy Chicken & Brown Rice. Today I was acting like I was eating the food, loudly masticating, in front of her and she ate it pretty well. Also since posting I tried Zignature's Turkey formula. She readily ate the Turkey sample in the car but balked back at home. Update: The 20 lb 7 month-old labradoodle ate under 2/3 of a cup of Blue Buffalo and no Zignature over two days (under 1/3 of a cup each day by hand feeding). Blue Buffalo suggests she should eat 4 cups of food over this two day period. She had no other food during this period. During the two days she had full access to Blue Buffalo as well as Zignature Turkey in separate bowls several feet from one another. Last night I asked a trainer about this. The first reaction was there are no picky dogs and she'll eat when hungry. After explaining under 1/3 cup per day over two days was consumed the trainer thought a vet visit might be useful. Before visiting the vet I tried feeding her olive oil seared chicken breast and rice and she ate a couple cups of that within a few minutes (in three separate feedings over an hour due to concerns of eating too much in one setting due to her decreased stomach volume after not eating - no hand feeding required). I'm about to give up on the kibble but need to find a supplement I can mix into the chicken/rice to ensure she gets all the vitamins/minerals (especially calcium) she needs.

most of all because you could just put your finger on the other side and plug the hole to trap the water in there ... why even let it run through it continously
