A Timmy the Tooth Retrospective

Фильм және анимация

IMPORTANT NOTE: I erroneously state in the video that Phil Baron is the creator of the series. The actual creators are Kevin Carlson, Dina Fraboni, and James Murray. Phil did work on the series, just not as the creator. I'm sorry for that misinformation.
...AKA more than anyone would care to know about "The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth." This is a major nostalgia bomb for me, and whether it was truly good or not, it will always have a weird little place in my heart.
* PLEASE NOTE that I compare Timmy to Pee-Wee Herman early in the video. Coincidentally enough, Timmy's puppeteer (Kevin Carlson) was also a puppeteer on Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Can't believe I forgot to mention that in the video itself.

Hey Colin...I like your retrospective. I played Timmy and co-created the show with Dina Fraboni and James Murray. Phil was the show's story editor and he also played Mr. Wisdom. Glad you liked our show!! The series will be streaming on the new Peacock network so now you can watch all the episodes. Jimini Biblets!! Tell all your friends!!!!

Really excited to hear you liked the video! I'm sorry for not crediting you, Dina, and James properly--for some reason, I was convinced Phil was the creator and didn't bother to double-check. Glad to know the series will have a proper home on streaming! I'll be sure to spread the word! And thanks again for the wonderful show!

Back in elementary school, I had this class called “Library” once a week. If the librarian wasn’t there for the day, the substitute would pop this into the VHS player to keep us quiet. The only episode I can remember watching is something about the character Sydney needing glasses cause he only had one eye. Apparently the Rice Crispy elves appeared in the tapes and announced Timmy from what I recall.

I remember this show, i watched those first two episodes as a child...sadly i wasn't too big of a fan outside of liking the Goon's song in the 'it's a wonderful life' dream, based on what I hazily remember. I also hate how that theme song just stays in my brain forever.

I'm glad there are studios introducing today's preschoolers to old shows and not just rebooting them to be like other generic kids shows. Some classic 90s Nick Jr shows have recently been remastered and added to Paramount+ in case today's parents wanna introduce their kids to Eureeka's Castle or Little Bear or other classics and don't think kids have to stick to their own generation. I'd rather little kids watch Timmy the Tooth than CoComelon or Baby Shark. Heck, I'd rather them watch Barney or Teletubbies (especially the old version) than Baby Shark or CoComelon.

I think I may have seen Molar Island once when I was a kid. I think they were playing it at a doctor's office or something. What's weird, though, is I remember the threat being an erupting volcano instead of the island sinking...

Timmy was born from the mouth of a brontosaurus? Now I'm imagining a dentist dinosaur from the show Dinosaurs, removing Timmy from a kid brontosaurus and then saying to his assistant: "We're gonna need another Timmy!" the same way Mr. Lizard would when killing off a kid named Timmy in his show-within-a-show Ask Mr. Lizard.

I'm not a 90's kid but I remember my parents play like one specific episode (which I'm pretty sure was the birthday surprise one) when I was way young at the time. They most likely kept the VHS and Timmy the tooth episode around from when my Elder brother was a kid since he grew up in the 90's. Man although I'm still quit young I can't believe this popped into my head, I wonder if my parents remember playing this for me when I was younger? I remember absolutely LOVING Timmy the Tooth when I was a kid and would replay the episode we had religiously cause I liked it so much at the time. I'm glad you did a video on this show awesome job!!! 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻

I wish more parents today would introduce their kids to old things and that you don't need to be a 90s kid in order to watch 90s shows. My younger brother was born in 2001 and when he was a preschooler, he was glued to Boomerang. I'm not saying parents shouldn't introduce their kids to anything modern but I would appreciate it if they could give me a chance to introduce them to old things.
