@@pantherman691 No, he wasn't. Even if he appeared in Tom and Jerry kids (and spin-off Droopy Master Detective). Tex Avery was credited as Droopy's creator in both shows.

Tex Avery - the greatest animator ever. Droopy - the greatest cartoon character ever. Fantastic to have such a brilliant high quality compilation on KZread. Hope it doesn't get taken down.

The Tex Avery cartoons were hilarious. I liked the droopy and butch the dog series. Tex Avery was brilliant.

I've always felt that Tex was a big influence on Mad Magazine's Don Martin. Martin would have been a hell of a good animation writer/director. And Preston Blair's Red is the sexiest girl to ever grace animation.

its because some cartoons (specially Droopie and the dog) are made by Metro Golden Meyer, the owners of Tom and Jerry.

Tex Avery did a lot of things that most people wouldn't dare say in public. Mostly it seemed that Tex Avery was not much of a woman admirer. Didn't believe women should be head of households or drive cars. And it seemed through some of his cartoons he had a dislike for his Mother in Law. But as we all know...today's generation loves their Mother in law more than their actual mothers
