A Teen Drank 7 Coffees Back to Back. 6 Hours Later, It Was Too Late.

It's intervention time! Has Brew been drinking too much coffee? What actually happens to your body when you drink too much coffee? And how did it affect a girl’s lungs who drank 14 shots of coffee in one go? Is there even a lethal dose for coffee anyway? Let's get into it.

@@baguettiregretti1961 strongly disagree,I've had over 3,000mg of caffeine and all it did was raise my heart rate, make me feel a little nauseous and help me sleep really well after work. Just like I tell everyone,it's built into your dna of your tolerance of certain things. My cousin can't even drink half a cup of coffee before she is bouncing off the walls,a whole cup makes her sick. I've had way more caffeine since then, think the most I've had in one day,was 5,436mg of caffeine from three bullskis,a 64oz mug of monster, three java espresso monsters, three caffeine pills,a few red bulls,on 36 hours of no sleep and no food and the worse that did was make my heart stop for just a couple seconds and pass out for just a minute, otherwise I was perfectly fine, didn't stop me from drinking more after a couple of hours of not drinking caffeine.

I’m sure other people have heard the story about the guy from Wales who ordered pure caffeine from an online site and ended up dead within an hour of consuming it. There was no scooper in the powder so he tried weighing a dose on the scale but the scale weighed in grams instead of milligrams. Just a few minutes after mixing it & drinking it he was foaming at the mouth & telling his wife his heart was beating like crazy and she called the ambulance. He went into cardiac arrest and after 45min of trying to save him he was pronounced dead. When they measured the amount of caffeine in his system he had the equivalent of 200 CUPS OF COFFEE!

I drank around 100+ gms of coffee in 2 hours. It was a winter evening, I was struggling to stay awake, so decided, drinking so much coffee will help me stay awake. And yes, the extreme bitterness made me stay wide awake, it felt nice. Later that day, I was having sparking sensation in some parts of my body, specifically in my finger tips, chest areas. That night, I couldn't really sleep well. Then the next day, I was out shopping with a friend. I was at a shop, checking out denim jackets and telling my friend we both should get these jackets. It was the last thing I remembered. Then I found myself in a foggy yet sunny sea beach, people trying to wake me up by splashing water, my friend crying holding me. They tried to sit me down on a chair. I remember saying "No let me stay here, the beach is just fine." Then suddenly the fog started to disappear, along with the sea beach. I found myself sitting on the floor of the shop I was at. They helped me stand up and sit on a chair. I was still drowsy. It happened around 5 pm. And the drowsiness didn't wear off until next morning, after a long, sound sleep. Later my friend said that, when I first came back to senses, I asked her "hey who are you?!". And I was senseless for about 5 minutes. I was having a bad convulsion. After coming back to senses I was rushed to the doctor, and he said examining me, "you're lucky that you didn't get a heart attack!". I never knew coffee can be that much fatal before seeing it firsthand.

I have a friend from University who ended up in the ER after drinking many coffees and energy drinks with little to no sleep while studying for exams. Everything was okay in the end, but it set back his studying more than it helped it. Moral of the story: when studying, just make sure you eat, sleep and drink enough water and don't try to replace those 3 with caffeine.

as someone who has overdosed on caffeine by drinking 9 cups of french pressed coffee, please be careful with how much caffeine you intake in a short amount of time. It was summer 2020 and I was bored and entirely alone for months as my brother had just moved out and my parents had work. I made coffee and baked different things every day to keep myself busy, and I wasn’t eating well at all. Ive always struggled with eating and have always been very small and a little frail even (105 lbs max). so, i was like 16 and decided to make some coffee. then i remembered we had a french press. made some coffee, then some more, and some more cause i was “staying up all night to sweet my sleep schedule” as we all say when we are manic and sleep deprives. anyways, about 8 cups in i realized i was shaking. I am always shaking due to some health conditions, but this was different. I then spent the next 48 awake, constantly moving, exhausted, vomiting and shitting and crying in pain. to this day if i ever say “this is the worst i’ve ever felt in my life”…… i think about it and go “no….. this is the second worst i’ve ever felt in my life” it was so bad. pls be careful.

I was in a nice little cafe with friends, and the waitress brought us three espressos as a treat. My two friends decided to turn their noses up at it, so I drank three cups of espresso in a row. Oddly, I didn’t feel a big change, but I did serve as designated driver for the next twelve hours without feeling sleepy.

Thankfully you are ok! I have never drank an energy drink because I was paranoid about the effects to the body. Read an article about people having heart attacks and dying from too many energy drinks or being combined with coffee. I cut my coffee to 1 cup a day in the morning and I actually feel better and more awake with just that. Thanks for the video, good to know.

During the first lockdown in 2020 the most coffee I drank was like 1 litre in like 5 hours during my online classes, I mean I was 15 but pretty used to drinking a cup of coffee everyday since I was 13/14 and thankfully it was regular coffee not espresso, also, the only symptom I ever experienced because of excessive caffeine was insomnia and its awful. In Brazil instead of Tea Time it’s Afternoon Coffee, we usually drink it after lunch and even at night, breakfast is actually called “Morning coffee” even if you don’t consume the beverage in the meal it has this name.

I had a similar experience with coffee in late 2020 without ever overdosing. It turns out drinking coffee late in the day, then taking melatonin to fall asleep despite your body's caffeine content can have some harmful side effects. After having a psychotic break and a short visit to the hospital, I was informed that my brain had not experienced REM sleep for more than a week. TLDR don't drink coffee at 10pm then take melatonin at 11pm

Oversharing coffee experiences time: I've probably drank 2 cafetières of coffee back to back before but I've never noticed it having much of an effect. And that wasn't one of the times I was only drinking it to avoid passing out from exhaustion. Have also gone suddenly back to not drinking coffee and had no problems either. It's a little frustrating that whenever I drink coffee or tea my mother expects me to get a migraine like she would. The only thing I noticed is that it can go through me quickly. ≈40 mins into one of my GCSE exams after staying up most of the night and then chugging black coffee, I was almost pissing myself.

I once quit cold turkey with caffeine. I had too much of it and my response was to simply stop consuming anything with caffeine in it altogether. For withdrawal symptoms, I only experienced a minor migraine for a night and a day and then I was fine. The overdose wasn't that bad, but I didn't want it to get to that point, so I cut myself off before an addiction could form.

I had 7 cups of coffee whilst studying for my theory test one night. I developed something known as caffeine bumps which caused inflammation across my chest, to the point that i could not wear a seatbelt or sleep on my front. It was so sensitive and painful to touch and lasted 6 weeks. I had random palpitations that were almost like a cramped muscle. I ended up going a&e and was told i need to just let it go on its own and to avoid caffeine. Thankfully, it went and ive dropped coffee since then.
