Ok guys hope you really enjoyed this case study on FB. I created this strategy based on what I started calling the "2 Day Anchor Gap-up." I'm sharing one of my best and A+ setups straight from my playbook. You can expect to hear me talking a lot more about the anchored VWAP on this channel because it's the most sensible indicator out there for a person that loves just price action and volume. VWAP will probably always be the best intraday indicator because it's showing you an average price accounting for volume, but when you combine that with an anchor you can find some amazing places to risk off of. The 2 Day Anchored VWAP after a gap-up day when a stock was previously trending down will show you an estimate of the average price of participants. In other words, you can think of it as where bears could be looking to cover or where bulls will be looking to add to their average.

Hi really appreciate your videos you make them alot more easier to understand. Just one question a 2 day anchored VWAP is that a regular VWAP over 2 days or is there something actually called a anchored VWAP

Great explanation! I never really cared for VWAP because it was never explained in a way that made sense (for application). Video is very informative!

As of late I've been using the 1Hr 200Ma that is over layed on any smaller time frame. Its a volume lightning rod. SimpleMovingAvg(close(period = AggregationPeriod.Hour), length =200)

VWAP stands for Volume Weighted Average Price, not volume weighted moving average. I’m sure you knew that, just wanted to point it out. Brian Shannon is the man, I am a converted vwapian.

haha awesome, Brian really helped adjust my style in trading. And thanks for the correction, sometimes it just slips out as volume weighted moving average since I say it so often with the EMAs lol

Thanks for your tutorials, your two-day anchored VWAP concept is a revelation. The charts in your videos have large-cap tickers -- would this technique also be effective with smaller cap stocks, assuming they have significant volume?

This is really good. One of the troubles I have is too many tickers (and not sure which one has strength to focus for the day, do you use this anchored vwap to find the relative strong stock among the liquid mega caps?) . And I know it's best to possible stick with spy / qqq and track s/d on Es / nq or trade futures directly. How many day trade tickers do you track / look at?

Thanks for watching! You have to set the date manually or as I suggested in the video you can set your chart in thinkorswim to a 1 day and that way the study will only show the previous day + current day's price action thus making it automatically a 2 day anchor.

Haha thanks man! And thanks for asking, I was coding an algorithm over the past few months and trading which both can be exhausting independently but doing both at the same time was just draining...finally got around to releasing a new video though.

Very good. I have not come across an Avwap strategy on KZread so I saw it right here on TraderLitt channel first. I also think the content here suits sophisticated traders. My question is does tradingview have options candlestick charts similar to TOS? As an international trader, I cannot access TOS. I use Tradingview and TradeZero. Ah, I've never tried TradeZero and as far as I know you can't view an option's chart on Tradingview. I think you can on Yahoo Finance though. Just pull up the options chain after searching the ticker, then click the "contract name" and then the chart tab. I don't use that and it might be delayed but it's better than nothing.

So anchored VWAP is different than regular VWAP?

they're similar in how the information is calculated, just different in that VWAP pretty much starts from just that day's volume and price, whereas in the anchored VWAP, you can choose which date/time to start calculating volume and price.

Question the 3 minute intra day chart is lovely but i've been using the 1 minute it works the same but fast. Sometimes I just feel like i'll miss out if using the 3 minute. Do you recommend the 3 minute over the 1 minute

It really depends on your style, if you're scalping then you're probably going to want the fastest timeframe. I'm generally not scalping as I look to be in my trades for 10-45mins and I rarely take the opening drive play. However, if you're scalping you might want to get good at reading the tape and L2. The 3 or 5-minute timeframes show stronger patterns and also allow you to not get as shaken out of a trade. For this particular EMA VWAP cross, it needs the 3 minute, but you can use a very similar strategy with the 1 minute. At the end of the day, you have to trade the timeframe that suits your personality most.

@@TradingLitt makes perfect sense bro appreciate you. The 3 does follow the 5 more accurately then the 1. The one lately has gotten me out of trades faster then usual because of where i'm positioning the stop. Will try the 3

@@TradingLitt just tried the 3 minute today and it’s beating the 1 by a long shot!!!! Found my sweet spot!!! It’s more consistent to the 5 then the 1 as well and still gives u an early opportunity to get filled. YOU R GOD THaNX!

Hey, sorry I don't have any experience trading Forex so don't really know. However, If I had to guess, based on what I've seen I would say no because Forex traders don't really analyze volume the same way futures and equities traders do, and VWAP only works with volume.

@@H_Doggy_Dogg Awesome, and instead of updating the date every day you can just set your chart to a 1day Xmin timeframe. The script will naturally start at the previous day's open as I mentioned in the video.
