Lies, I just saw Dan on a beach in Mexico covered in tan oil, playing foot volley with some old ladies.

GTA VI is already one of the most interesting games for cut content and it isn't even out yet. I can't wait for dataminers to delve into the files and see what's hiding when it finally comes out, or if the source code ever leaks (hopefully not before the game releases).

When I see that you guys upload a new video it really makes my day. Thanks for the great content!

Looks like the next T2 earnings call is on the 8th August. Could it fit the timeline of getting some screenshots? Maybe just wishful thinking though 😅

The leaked GTA 6 videos are fun to dissect. It showed stuff like spear ammo which indicates some type of underwater weapon. Underwater combat in any open world game, let alone GTA, is interesting. Also, it showed shared fruit and wine meaning there is an inventory for food. The shared part got my attention. I predict Lucia and Jason will be together for the majority of the game unlike Michael, Franklin and Trevor who really only interacted during story missions. So even when you are exploring the open world the other protagonist follows and interacts with you. Giving you the option to control 2 characters at any time or to dismiss one if you want to be left alone. Imagine running over a pedestrian and cops start chasing you, you’re controlling the car and switch to the other character in the passenger seat to open fire while the AI takes control of the car. That would be pretty cool

Sorry to hear about Dan, truly sucks about this week's episode. Genuinely looking forward to next week, I'd wager were approaching some new news at some point from now till September. Great piece to bring up. We know from both the Know and the reporting on Jason Scrier that GTA VI was rebooted. What most people don't know is that the project was marred, with workplace burnout and stagnant progress. We can tell this from how fresh everything in development was. In GTA Online that Cayo Perico heavily cannibalised older assets from the project. I'd absolutely love to pick the brain of what development was like at this time. You have to understand that the project got so behind that they removed the post launch teams for both GTA Online and (more importantly) Red Dead Online. I cannot understate how massive this is to the lore of how this happend. 2019 was an absolutely rough year, but 2020 was what I can only assume an absolute nightmare. We know that the original vision for America's was the entirety of the US; we also know that this would be unattainable due to hardware limitations. This changed, and I don’t 100% believe they immediately went to this narcosis theme. I suspect that at some point before 2018 they where focusing on another modern day with flashbacks and a reduced original vision. In my view, the original GTA 6 was canned, either due to poor leadership, the vision wasn't there or just marred with poor production. It's frustrating because if everything went above board the latest the original "GTA 6" would have come out in fall 2023. I've lost a lot of gaming friends over this decision, which makes me disappointed as a lot of people can't see that the original "GTA 6" was in development hell. They killed RD:O because they had to reboot it to what today's GTA VI is. What I'd give to have been a fly in the wall in those years. If anyone talks, it will tell us a lot about what Rockstar Games is now and why it is here now.

@@krisradowski I was always under the impression that Rockstar had complete creative control when it came to GTA and T2 just let them get on with it. I'm pretty sure I've even read Strauss Zelnick being quoted as saying that in as many words.

Hello guys! First of all, allow me to tell you that I'm a fan of the show since the first video back in the days of GTAVo'clock, always enjoy your insights and theories. Keep up this amazing work! Hope Dan is doing well. Just wanted to bring something to your attention that maybe almost no one has noticed, and it's that in the GTA 6 trailer, after a small robery, Jason and Lucia are driving away in the muscle car called The Tulip, a car that was added and then removed from GTA Online after the Mercenaries DLC. A Tulip symbolizes a Perfect and Deep Love. Maybe a little detail hidden by Rockstar, and if so, well played! Maybe meaning that their relationship is very strong and might give us an idea of what's to come in the story. Hope this helps! Have a great one!

My main question about Everywhere is how close to GTA like can you make the game look/feel? The mindseye trailer looked pretty close tbf

Can see the Narcos idea becoming a new IP or implemented into a reboot Max Payne.

What I think happened was that RDR online’s failure made t2/rockstar think a next gta online had to be modern day rather than a period piece to have the same longevity as gta v online + all the firings because of the culture shift probably was the nail in the coffin for that version of gta 6

GTA 6 could've been narco themed originally but that vice musical poster in GTA 5 hints towards the idea of Rockstar Games having the GTA 6 we see now as the original idea for the game, therefore contradicting that narco idea being the original idea.

Hope Dan is feeling better soon I'll take this chance to say YES to the visuals as well, can't even remember what we were looking at before, just trailer footage or old V gameplay i'd assume. Much better choice in Vice DE, while i want to, i've never gone and played much of the DEditions after they got shhh'd on so much. So i love the chance to see more of the cut scenes and visuals that came with those versions. Were you around for SA's release? do you remember hype on sites like GTAGAMING, i will never forget an image that came up before the game was out, i think it was a cutout from a SA trailer, it showed a woman sitting on the beach with what looked like a dog next to her and we all lost our minds lol, good times, it makes me think more about SA, and how that hype and fun continued through mods, do you feel like that kinda went away with GTA V, maybe even 4, i feel like i never once saw a mod for V that impressed me, it was always just another BMW or Ironman texture replacement, where i think back to GTA III and remember a damn Futurama mod that had the tunnels for transport and buildings and obv used a cheat to turn wheels off, made the cars look like they were hovering, it was inspired, never fully dev'd as far as i know, but better than anything i've seen for 20 years since. I'd honestly love to hear some discussion from two people as qualified and 'one of us' as you lads about the modding journey, maybe even some speculation of what could come, but def your thoughts on its current state, eg for me, FiveM being so heavily RP based has always left me wanting for more, its GTA and they dont even do race servers. That could almost lead me onto another topic of how far from its roots GTA has seemed to come in the minds of those that play it full time. its not about grand theft auto the crime, its about robbing the rich and buying another 4 million dollar car for your garage, a car that you wont ever race in a realistic setting post 2018.

Curious of your thoughts on the next “version” of GTA Online, and how they could reuse the scrapped project americas. Cayo Perico seems to tease this idea to an extent, but it’s hard to believe that’s everything they had completed.

The GTA 6 Narcos theme could be added as dlc depending on the game's main story. I would have absolutely loved a gta Narcos based games based in the 80s probably working for the Sinaloa Cartel and the second character being a DEA agent who either has to rat out the cartel character and arrest them or ditch the feds and join the cartel at the end of the game 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. That's just my own personal opinion tho. I hope DD gets better soon ❤🙏🏾.

they already did add it, to GTA Online, that’s where the Cayo Perico update came from.

I can absolutely see Rockstar and Take Two going back to square 1 and ditching any direction Dan Houser was going in once he left. If several years of Houser led development were already in place when he left they might well have felt that continuing in that direction without him would have led to an inconsistent game tone overall. This would absolutely explain the length of time with no GTA 6 related news after both 5 and RDR2. Obviously no one outside of Rockstar will know whether there is also any bloody mindedness going on with wanting to completely erarse his influence from what very much seemed to be his baby, even though many hundreds of people work on the games. It will be interesting to see if the absence of his oversight makes for a significantly different game in terms of tone, quality of writing or overall execution. Also, get well soon DD!

i probably don't know what im talking about here, just a guess really, but Everywhere just looks like an environment made to spew epic assets at you, is that Unreal Engine 5? it looks like Fortnite in the character selection, UI might be a bit closer to Ark 1.5, but both are UE5 games and its starting to feel like the game or dev team are not the ones responsible for how good the game looks, because anything running on UE5 already does, or can; look like that. That can be good because it means a smaller team can make a bigger game, they dont have to spend the time or resources on that aspect, but it also opens the door to people that have NO business making games, giving us more garbage, we already have Bethesda for that.

I dont believe gta 6 was ever meant to take place in the past as all the newer titles take place in modern time

No, there will be different graphic modes. Xbox series S will run on the lowest one and ps5 pro for example will be able to run on the highest setting

That’s all I can think about, imagine playing the story of Narcos with GTA gameplay. You start off as a Favela 🩴crook and work your way up and build your drug empire, all while the DEA hunting you down. What could’ve been. I feel like once Dan Houser left the team didn’t want to risk it without him and made the safest decision which is the Miami/Vice city remake. I’m not complaining thought I just want to play a new GTA game in my lifetime

A narcos themed gta6 sounds great, but parodying the modern world is such a part of gtas identity now, and theres so much potential stuff to parody, that I think a period piece gta 6 would have a lot of wasted potential.

They wouldn't have gone back to the 70s and 80s...that just sounds silly given all the material available today

Character creation in GTA V was a disappointment. All characters the same height, male or female, everyone the exact same body type (no variation in muscle or fat), only a sh*tty age slider that got removed in the PS4/PC versions, and all characters looked like meth addicts. R* has never been very good at character creation. I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.
