Hi Titilayo, I believe the apartment is now around 70k (we stayed during the weekend, 2 adults + 1 child). I can't find a price list on the website (I only see older price lists online). I know they also have rooms but I don't know the prices. I guess you can sent them an e-mail to request prices: iita-reservations@cgiar.org . Thanks so much for watching!

You're right Sandy. If no one tells me those houses are in Nigeria, I would think that is the US. Looks so much like our 1960s and 1970s neighborhoods we have here, same type of ranch houses with massive front and back yards, especially in the Midwest. Great job Sandy!! IlTA has been around since the 70s I believe. I knew of the place when I was in High School back in the 70s. Glad to see the place is still around, being kept up. Glad to also see the ongoing renovations and refurbishments. Those windows are called "Glass Louvered Windows, jalousie windows, or just Louvers". They were quite "the thing" in the 70s and 80s. I love them! Looking forward to lodging at IITA when next I'm in Nigeria. Thank you for showing us around. Great video!!

Hi Joy, ah nice te know! I wonder why those louvers are not a thing anymore. It was so nice opening those up on both sides of the room. Yes for a place that has been there for so many years it is well maintained and such a unique vibe overall. I would highly recommend so yes please try to go whenever you are in Nigeria. I'll share more about the costs etc in an upcoming video. Thanks so much for watching 💜

Thanks for this highly informative video. Despite living in Ibadan for a few years myself, i never realised there was such a beautiful resort right in the middle of the city. It's looks so serene and peaceful; a true oasis. Nigeria really has some hidden gems that don't really get much publicity by the media. Judging from the layout of the IITA resort, I would bet it was the blue print for Lakowe Lakes and Golf Resort in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. Another tremendously beautiful place in Nigeria.

Sorry, the Military Govt happened to Nigeria and we lost our way. I remember how Murtala Muhammed dissolved a whole Civil service in the mid 1970's, these are experienced men and women who built Nigeria under colonial Govt and few years after independence under the regional system. The industrial layouts like Ilupeju etc, standard Universities, buildings like Cocoa house in Ibadan which was the tallest in Africa all funded from Agriculture proceeds, the North and Eastern region as well had it going. The new civil service came with nepotism, unqualified people, man know man, inexperienced, lackadaisical attitudes, corruption, nepotism etc if you ever heard of the Town councils which were very powerful those days, they are today's Local Govts and weak. The military messed up the institution including deliberate weakening of the Nigeria Police force cos they had powers to abort a Coup and also arrest anybody those days. I laugh when people wish for military take over in Nigeria😅

...what's your point? Are Nigerians the only people going to bed hungry?!? Your leaders don't give a hoot about you guys, compared with Kuwait or dubai...a similarly oil wealthy countries yet with quality leaders! See the difference!? Therfore stop your complaints!
