Looks like the bag and contents was the spoils of a robbery. At a guess the silver fly was in it too. Might be appropriate to share the footage with the local police as it may help them close a case.

The Edixa is a Double 8 camera, older than Super 8. It takes 7.5 m of 16 mm film. You expose one half (8 mm wide), then flip the film and expose the other half. Once developed, the film is split down the middle. If you try to find out whethere there's film in it I'd do that in darkness to avoid exposing a partially unwound roll. Once wound back onto the original spool it can be exposed to ambient light so you can see what type of film it is. If it's Kodachrome it can only be developed into B&W negative and then scanned, if it's something else you might still get a proper reversal film. The camera's fairly old, first half of the 60s I guess and was manufactured by Chinon of Japan for Edixa (Germany).

I just feel in my bones your beautiful convent needs some orchids. Also I would check if the chapels alter has been sanctified. If it has it may be possible to hold weddings in there, and keep it as a feature for accommodation. I still feel weddings would bring you a good amount of money if you could pull them off in the future. Having accomodation/ garden and chapel in one venue is a real draw card. My money is on the cartridges being 8 mm Bird Shot shells, very common in Britain for over a hundred years ( when it was actually legal to own and use a Rimfire Garden Gun in your garden if one purchased a 5 shilling Firearms licence from the local post office (still have mine from 1959). The smaller shells are also Rimfire Shot shells in a .22 calibre. Both the 8mm and the .22 shot shell cartridges are both available today , made by the Fiochhi Arms company in Italy. The rifles that fire those shells are also still sold today in Britain. The later .22 Rim fire version was the direct result of there being too many rifles .22 calibre rifled barrels available that became difficult to own and use in Britain because of the newly introduced restrictive firearms laws. BSA and Anschutz converted both the 9 mm rifled barrel guns to accept the 8 mm Bird shot Garden gun shot shell with their smoothbore method to remove the rifling and the .22 rifles were smooth bored to accommodate the .22 Shot shells which allowed the use of both guns to remain in the shot gun category . The ,22 blanks ,also still available today were (and still are) only 10 mm long and are crimped at the ends to created the pressure required to cause the BANG necessary to be heard because of the very small charge propellant inside. The .22 Bird shot shell is longer , around 26 mm , both cartridges are cardboard capped to retain the size 12 lead pellets inside them.

When remodeling our previous home, we stashed away lots of goodies (little time capsules) in each project, wall, flooring, to make things interesting for the next renovators. Thanks for sharing your fun but puzzling finds. Ever think of stashing a time capsule or coins for the next remodeler? PS Nuns usually took a vow of poverty, so I’m not surprised you never found anything. Anything the sisters had, they gave away. Only kept what could fit in their small room, aka cell.

It would be worth trying to replace the glass. Did you find the serving spoon that goes with it? But it looks like a pile of stolen property.
When I was a child many years ago my father bought a old house with an overgrown yard like that. He found a local farmer and rented a herd of goats to clear it out. It only took a couple of days and the goats had clean it out.

On Michael’s Channel where he showed us all the documents and plans for the Chateau I suggested that in the future you could have a Museum Room at the Convent to house them all…….this could include any material relating to the Convent as well…! Obviously it would need secure cabinets but it would be fantastic to open it up to the public ….I’m sure the local people would be interested and even tourists. It could also include a section of ‘finds’ whilst renovating the Convent…….! x 😊
You broke Rick! He’s been painting so long he doesn’t remember life before. 🤣 So lovely to see you all and the garden. 💗
Rick is simply amazing, he never complains even when Billy asked him was he bored with painting he didnt give a negative comment, is he a friend of the family and living in France
Thanks for being so great to Rick and letting him have a change. 🙂
Nuns are known to be prodigious workers! They would have farmed the fields, worked in the greenhouses, found ingenious ways to solve most any problem, all while staying in a state of perpetual grace. They are truly remarkable individuals! It would be interesting to see if that convent helped protect and provide for people fleeing Germany, and other countries during the war! There was a large underground movement in France during WWII

Yes, there was the underground movement in France and it was massive during ww2. The convent was one of many other churches, nunnery, working underground, throughout France. I'm not surprise the convent helped, and why wouldn't they. I found it fascinating.

Yes I have been wondering if they will find a underground tunnel. I really thought so when they found that outside oval shelf for a statue if that was covering a passageway I was so excited but nope lol

@@kathrynbeetham5308 that’s your opinion! We always draw to us the life experiences we need to grow and expand our souls! And the state of grace does not automatically cancel out the other states of being, which may become necessary at times! Is your glass, in life, half full, or half empty.? It’s all a matter of attitude, and the choice my friend is yours! Cheers!
You should have a competition for your subscribers to enter and pick like 10 and let them come clear the entire garden section during a weeks stay at the convent! The winners bring their own sleeping bags, camp beds or whatever and can stay in the chapel area or something and be a part of the journey and you get a 10 person free workforce for a week

Rick looked very happy to be in the garden. His smile is fabulous!!
That bag certainly seems like swag that the thief couldn't get to after his brilliant fling. I love your garden explorations, looking forward to more discoveries.
That is a very special antique. It was a honey holder. The body is silver. And the glass body turned on it perfectly. There should be a small little spoon that is silver as well. You raise the wings to scoop out the honey!! Very very valuable. Glass collectors call it the holy grail. Don’t throw it away. It’s pure silver. Just find another body. Hard to find but it can be done! I have one and can send you a pic of you like. They are VERY rare. Mine is not plated. It’s 925.
This looks like another metal detecting opportunity and another entry in the hypothetical picture book I want Michael to make. Perhaps your new empty shelves could hold all the unusual discoveries you find at the convent? Don’t dispose of the bullets!!!! Secure them, but that’s what further makes that bag more mysterious. That’s a crime thriller story in that bag!

Rick has the cutest dimples and wonderful smile! Hard worker too! He fits right in with the team!
Billy, Ryan, Rick my loves. Thank you Billy for giving Rick a break from painting. Very interesting bag. I believe someone tossed the bag over the wall to avoid being caught with it. The gardens are going to be so beautiful when cleared. See ya tomorrow. Take care my darlings and stay safe 🍺🍺🍺🙏👍🌹❤️😇🌈🇺🇸🕊🎈🌞
Billie, have you thought about having a museum in the convent, a room to house all your finds as well as telling the history of the convent and what you have done to bring it back to life?
In the UK, when a mudlarker finds bullets in the mud, they will pass it on to the police, especially if there's live rounds, or if you are unsure, you may want to do the same. Best to be safe and pass it on to the authorities to dispose instead of chucking it into the trash. Great finds, Billy!
Wow, this is the earliest I've ever viewed a video that wasn't live. I love the idea of letting Rick decide and doing some discovering with him! Thank you for another great video! Much love from CT, USA!
This was so cool! I hope you'll take us along when you venture back into the garden. I thought Ryan would have had some guesses as to the suspicious activities - lol! Thanks for taking us along!
Rick absolutely needs his own youtube channel! "Living the good life" or something like this.
Kinda makes you wonder if the owners of the farm would consider selling in the future to make the convent whole again. Speaking of holes, where would you consider putting in that gate/door to the garden
Wow interesting finds. It would be great to see if there is any footage in the camera. Thanks for sharing team xxx💕💕
That silver plate bug, is a honey bee, honey pot, made in England and sold in France around 1910-1920
I see that Bee thing on your new shelves. Always glad you bring us along Billy.

So much fun! So glad to hear that you will create a place in the library to display all of the interesting things you find during the renovation/restoration. That would be a fantastic tourist stop! Simon is such a formal gentleman ☺️
Awesome and intriguing post!! Well done!
The fly is actually a bee made possibly made by Godinger and is a honey pot or for sugar. I did see one with ruby glass that is Italian made. Great find!
That is the kind of assortment of random crap that I would assemble to perplex whoever finds it.
Oo treasure both items and walls ect. Awesome, take care and thank you for sharing 👍👏❤️
You uncovered the results of a theft/burglary. Whoever was squatting the convent (Moped Kid) stashed their loot offsite but accessible - the stuff would not be easily found by a stranger but is also plausibly within reach if one were to book it.

His smile is just amazing! That’s our Rick, it is. What a lovely day to explore.
Stolen objects thrown over the wall. Careful opening foreign packages like that.
Ever since I saw you first clear that courtyard and grass patches, I keep thinking citrus or lemon trees for some reason, and wondered how they would grow, and if it was possible to plant them in large pots as you have the pencil pines. Love watching how well you guys are doing with the renovations. Keep up the good work. Oh and if it has hallmarks it's sterling silver. Check hallmark book for clarification on its age and place of manufacture. Cool find.
I didn’t realize you still had garden to clean! Wow, quite a bit to do! I’m in agreement with others who think it’s stolen things just thrown over the wall! Fun times today!
That silver plated thing is a Scottish Antiques Fabulous Mappin & Webb Honey Bee Honey Pot, circa 1910 one has been sold for £1,250 @ThePethericks
Billy and Rick it is great watching you to you really act like brothers from another mother I would love to see a Chanel with just the two of you magnet fishing, metal detecting or something like that because I am sure it would be like the chuckle brothers He!He! X
It's Sterling silver London mark Shield is Shefford Anchour think it's Birmingham mark but worth something it's old happy treasure search , love where the statue was and the troughs amazing how long have they been there my love to you all ❤️
Micheal could restore the niche and I think it would be super easy to find another statue of Mary! thanks for sharing.
Love this channel! Looks like you found a bag that a theif discarded after taking the best bits out.
Such a beautiful serene place.
I always enjoy your rummaging whether it be Brocantes, Chateau land or amongst the garden at the Convent, but it’s always good treasure hunting, You never know Billy that’s the point 👍
Talk about a mixed bag! lol what a bunch of weird stuff. That bug belongs on your new shelving unit. Maybe that could be a small "museum" of found objects. The cigar tins are cool, too.
That discovery was scary Billy. Glad you took Rick outdoors.
Very cool finds. That Bee is a keeper. Look into it.
I wish you would wear gloves when you’re digging through stuff. I worry about what might be lurking. Have a good rest of your week.
Oh man, that transition into the drone shot.. I'm speechless. Great episode, nice to have some good weather after all those gloomy indoor days. Also, you can start a nice collection on those shelves in the office with everything you find.
My guess on the bag discovery. It contained stolen items and the person who had taken these items kept the valuable items and discarded the remaining items over the Convent Wall.
Hiya Billy enjoyed watching wow what a strange bag of contents? Hmm perhaps some stolen property thrown over the wall? Keep us posted! Blessings luv Ontario Canada Thankyou 🐝🇨🇦
American here: I think you've found "Wadcutters" a type of ammo used in handgun competitions. they are not blanks and can be used for self defense. the size is too big for them to be .22 but could be instead .38 special
Billy you found my stuff!! I was there several yrs ago and that fell over the wall and couldn’t retrieve it. I was smoking my cigars while filming me shooting my gun at the silver bug. Haha cheers Kirk
As soon as I saw the bee I thought it was an antique honey bee pot, looking at the state of the things the bag must have been there for a long time so the original owners probably wouldn't be able to be located now, so it's finders keepers and these style of jars are still being made so getting a replacement glass would be quite easy and it would magnificent in the convent or chatuex 😉 xxxx
Great to explore the garden with you.
LOL 😅 I was so grossed out while you guy were handling all that filthy stuff with your bare hands! I love the little bee with the red bulb butt! Hopefully you can find the missing pieces in your cleaning process of the garden. If not perhaps a glass maker can make a new you! Fun times!
💙 a FUN exploration!
The longish pistol ammo appears to be for a Russian Nagant revolver. The end is cupped in order to slide over the forcing cone as the cylinder is pushed forward to fire. The lead projectile sits down inside the case.
Absolutely love your show I watch it every night thank you, your the “BEST”
Billie about the bullets ,if it's a paper cap ,it's blanks but they could still do some damage to a human being ,if it's metal topped/capped It's live ammo and should be handed into the police station for destroying ,all the ammo needs to be found and the police should come pick up the ammo for safe transportation for health and safety reasons .Love what you have done with the convent .

This was so interesting. I’m always up for a treasure hunt. We bought and renovated an old farmhouse (built in 1860’s) in Pennsylvania. Never found even so much as an old coin or trinket in 30 years.
Mappin and webb silver plated honey pot- nice find
