The reason why there are AV cables in a box with an Xbox with a HDMI port is because TVs were still transitioning at that time. Microsoft was future-proofing connectivity for consumers who may not have upgraded yet.

It’s really not that big of a deal lol but I personally did not know anybody without a tv with an hdmi input in 2013 when they were making 360 e consoles. Av cables were obviously more backwards compatible, but it’s kinda crazy how many of your average consumers were likely running a 480p picture on their hdtv, because that’s what came with it. They didn’t even include component cables - they were composite.

I got a 2008 Falcon Blades 360, it's such an amazing console and I am so happy about it. It was only 100 bucks, new in box, sealed, everything.

Yo, that's crazy. Didn't know about the blades dashboard and jasper motherboard combo being so rare. Cause that would make mine one of those made in that 3 week period. My 360s basically the last Falcon off the line, and boy did they do fine work building it.

Blades was so cool. So much class and energy. I like the ability to customize the background in the later updates but blades was PEAK.

I miss the blades so much, wish they would give us a option to use it on the new ones but that would make too much sense 😭

I still remember booting my 360 up for the first time and loving the blades. And then playing Hexic HD for hours.

I got the 360 on release so the blade dashboard is so nostalgic to me. I was devastated when they updated it.

Xbox 360's are the easiest systems to fix . Used to buy them all the time with red ring of death. All they needed was new thermal paste, usually a disk drive belt and a good cleaning.

I just got a blades dash Jasper from Japan the other day, it was manufactured 6 days before NXE came out and was just never turned on

RGH 1.2 on a Falcon is your best bet if you can pull it off. I have, and I keep it on Blades because it's the only system I have that can run them.

I actually have a idea for Microsoft to make it so you can use the dashboard you want to use like OG Xbox and 360 blades in the settings

Truth be told, I don't know if I prefer the blades dashboard or the NXE dashboard. My RGH runs the current kernel for Xbox Live, but I have the system set to load the NXE dashboard by default. Both of them really match the vibe of the original white 360s, the blades have the best aesthetic, but the NXE has probably the better layout if you were playing on Xbox Live. It's just really tough to beat the early years of Xbox 360.

NXE is my all time fav dash

NXE was my favourite. I grew up with that and the last dashboard on 360. I like the current dashboard for 360 as well. Was excited when that came out.

I preferred the NXE. I haven’t really liked any of the dashboards that came after that.

I am actually playing on my metro pretty often nowadays

Still have my 360 I got in November 2007. Retired it in June 2016, for a 360E. Pretty sure it's the Zephyr version since psu 203W.

The metro dash is the best looking dashboard. I dont think there is anything nasty looking about it. I thought it was well organized and it was just an amazing time to be alive I am an NXC boy though thats the dashboard that came with our xbox!

Getting back into 360 lately it's definitely not a bad dashboard it just doesn't have that old school charm that blades and NXE have. The very definition of they just don't make them like they used to

I remember whem my friend got his 360 and we were playing split screen Advanced Warfare on it. He had one of those giant crt TV's, so we had to use the AV cables. I remember creating a class and all the descriptions were unreadable. Most text was nearly impossible to read.

If you still have it you should jtag mod it and disable the efuce burning circuit which means you can upgrade and downgrade the dash and kernel at any time.

Oh geeze, the memories! I can't tell you how many hours I put into gears of War, with my 2gb iPad nano plugged in, and jamming click click boom while SLAYING! one of the BEST features they took away, playing music from your device while playing games...

On a modded OG Xbox, you can have a 360 theme with blades. Looks and feels a bit legit.

I had a Metro dash on my 360 (Xenon) when it was gifted to me by my uncle in 2015

I never knew about the blazed dashboard. Thats neat.

I used to think that the metro dashboard was the only one before discovering this channel, the older ones are so much cooler

I've actually used every single xbox dash over the years and I honestly don't know if I ever liked one over the other more now that I think about it.

I got my first Xbox 360 when I was 7 in 2009 so I have a warm spot for the NXE dashboard

I had a 360 with Perfect Dark Zero in 2005 Christmas so I had the blades dashboard and no HDMI on my 360. It got read ring sadly three years after.

Had blades on my first 360. I sold it and it red ringed after that. Next one I bought was a slim with nxe

I actually got the Xbox 360 Slim 250GB a week after release, and I still have it today, and it still works well for me. The Xbox 360 I first had was the Xbox 360 Arcade and used an 8GB Flashdrive for it.

Blades holds a special place in my heart and childhood but I preferred the nxe and had more experience with the nxe dash

I don't know if you noticed bit the xbox 360 slim had like a white noise on the picture. I think it is about to red ring if I am right. Look at the TV close to corners and You will see white dots.

I got a Jasper 360 for 20 bucks but it didn’t come with like the power cord it only came with the power brick and the controller doesn’t work but it’s still a good deal

First time I played on a 360 was on blades, probably on 2006-ish, and only once, then it was NXE on my uncles Xbox and on my Cousins Xbox(two different consoles), NXE is definitely my favourite just because I placed so many hours on Halo 3 with my cousin at that time, then I played on kinect probably twice right when the kinect came out and all my cousins wanted to test it out, I played on metro in 2016 on my uncles star wars weird sounding 360 because I was staying at his house and the 360 was the only one with two controllers, that was the last time I ever touched a 360, now Ive had an original Xbox since 2006(mom got a good deal on it) and didnt have internet at my house until 2017 so there was really no noticeable difference for me(I was too young), though having a limited time to play made it more fun

Blades dashboard on the Xbox Series X/S would be incredible, and it’s a shame that Microsoft didn’t care to give gamers what they want, and give us the options to use dashboards we prefer, and especially blades as it’s the most iconic and greatest dashboard in history

I didn’t get a 360 till later due to having Wii and PS3 but I remember the blades because my friends were Xbox fans.

I bought 3 Xbox 360 consoles at launch date so don’t think that’s the only one I never used it it comes with an Xbox remote controller controller I’m very sure if you buy unused launch Xbox 360 consoles you’ll find more of these scalpers have everything in stock they buy everything

So, if anyone here didn’t know, if you have a Jasper motherboard XBOX 360, you can play almost all games at least until then XBOX NXE Kinect update. It’s only games that require an internet connection that will force you to patch your device into the metro design otherwise. You can also side load game patches to your hard drive, as well as DLC without connecting to the internet.

I just got a sealed (not anymore, opened it lol) xbox 360 with the Falcon motherboard and blades dashboard and everything worked... Except it didn't read discs, oh well, it's still an awesome piece of history to have a shiny xbox 360 cib

Yeah, I was recording the entire setup. The slow realization that the game wasn't reading was such a devastating blow!

I have one Falcon motherboard 360 manufactured in August 08 on original Blades firmware 2.0.6690 Edit: I checked and my console is actually from September not August

I'm not sure I understand the allure of the blades dashboard. In my limited understanding of xboxes, it seems like it cuts out a large portion of the game library. Is the console more valuable because of blades?

It's rarer, less soulless usually quicker, more nostalgia and on 360 once you update you can never go back due to how Microsoft designed the console at a hardware level.

They never should've gotten rid of the blades dashboard it was the coolest dashboard, while the one they replaced it with was just a boring and dull gray looking dashboard. No different colors or anything
