happy new year's eve, stays! (warning: things are about to get VERY sappy) guys, idek where to start when i say how unexpected my youtube journey has been because of you amazing, beautiful, supportive human beings. i've probably mentioned this before but when i created this channel, i was at a very low point in my life (cliche, i know) but honestly, i was. and i don't say that lightly. i had just gotten my mcat results and learned that even after 2 attempts and years of hard work, my scores weren't enough to get me into a good med school. due to my ever busy schedule and being a HUGE people pleaser, i had realized i didn't actually have any real friends and so instead of talking it out with someone, i had isolated myself so much so that i went from being an extrovert who was always the life of the party to an irritable introvert that hard frequent bursts of anger, long spans of laziness, and just had an avoidance to life. and then one day i was swiping through youtube shorts and saw hyunjin's backdoor fancam. i thought that was neat but i wasn't into kpop so i ignored it. some weeks later, i had made a friend at uni who was a bts stan, she sent me so many bts clips to watch that eventually my algorithm became all kpop stuff. that was when i saw a youtube short compiling deep voiced idols, here is where i was introduced to felix. i was impressed but i didn't think much of it. some time later, idk why but i ended up on god's menu music video, then backdoor, then sorikkun, and then suddenly i was watching funny skz moments compilations. and then i noticed a guy who was chan but also chris and he had a whole thing going called "chan's room" and i thought to myself, where have i seen this room/studio before. i went way back in my insta story archives and found that somewhere in 2020 i had a phase of watching just this one chan's room clip where he introduced himself as "christopher" and talked about what he advised to do on your periods. i rmr being so smitten and (very childishly imo lmao) thinking that i was in love with this dude. now imagine my HUGE SURPRISE when i re-watched all the skz music videos and realised.... i had been stanning 3 idols from the same fucking band for 2 fucking years 😭 i just didn't notice because i had 7848282 other things on my mind and they changed their styles and hair colours SO MUCH that it was hard to keep track. i was such a dumbfuck 💀 but it could be fate for me to discover them lmfao anywayyyy i started getting into them and saw that most compilations had mostly the more famous moments, so to cheer myself up (and avoid social interaction in public lmao) i began editing videos of these insane, chaotic 8 dudes. and then, lo and behold, 3 months later they started gaining traction (i guess the youtube gods liked me a lot at that point akdjfhjs) and now even MORE months later, here we are. i am crying, i am sick (fucking flu), but my heart is so full with love, i just HAD to regale this whole tale. maybe in the future, you guys won't like me as much and maybe one day the constant stress of running this channel will get to me and i'll stop uploading (god forbid 💀) but for now, i am so glad you're here, and not just here-here but here on this earth, i am so glad we have made our own smol community, and i am mostly glad for that depressing ass time in my life that forced me to make this channel in the first place. you guys have my heart

We love you too Rue and I read every word you wrote. I wasn’t necessarily at a bad time when I found SKZ but I was going through some stuff and I stumbled upon MANIAC mv in July. It was history from then on out. I love these 8 beautiful humans so much. They have inspired me to work hard, have been a source of comfort throughout my high school journey (I’m 14) and their music has been a shoulder to lean on for as far as I can remember. I will never forget the way I felt seen when I heard silent cry play on Spotify for the first time. It’s like they took everything I was going through and conveyed it into a beautiful song full of hardships and loneliness and pain. But now I know thx to SKZ I’m never alone. They have helped me through so much and I look forward to what 2023 brings us. About your account, don’t feel pressure to post all the time. Yes, I love ur vids but I won’t watch them if it means your mental health is being drained. You have to take water breaks sometimes too Rue ;) So ya that ends my super long paragraph abt my love for SKZ and this acc Tysm for always posting and being the coolest stay on earth and yea we all were confused who was who in SKZ at one point😭💀. ily too ❤️ i got into skz a couple months ago but have never fallen so deep into a fandom. ive been a kpop stan since april 2020 but anyways lately i have been rethinking my purpose of well basically living and i dont wanna get to deep but i would listen to skz and watch their videos (lots of your videos too) and that really helped me. thats when i thought to myself “has skz saved my life?” ofc i denied it because yk therapy would kinda be the thing to save your life or a bf or something *cries in single* anyways over time i started to believe it and i am really grateful i found skz and this channel 💗 thank you for being a part of my life skz and bottled pasta 💕
