Fair play to Man Lok Leung, a big scorer, if can improve his doubles, genuinely a threat to Clemens or anyone in general, despite him being consistent usually. I hope he considers a tour card as played absolutely class. Gian Van Veen had no answer really those last 2 sets.

Love the gents throwing style. Straight. Dart hardly shuttler after impacting board. He’s a threat in this tournament. Clemens could be in trouble.

Leung’s throw is one of the best you’ll see anywhere. Not a lot can go wrong with that beautiful release.

Young lad with lots of pressure on him, with a crowd that was getting on top of him. Not every great young player goes deep in their first worlds, Rock and Humphries are the exceptions, not the rule. Leung was phenomenal mind. 102 average in that 5th set for a player making his debut is absurd.

If leung can play like that again in his next match then I think he could be a dark horse in the tournament, also it looked like he was really enjoying his match.

Man Like Leung... thoroughly deserved to win and should've won it sooner.. his seasonal average was a worry when looking at the stats but hope to see him raise his game again.. 180 machine 🔥

Great matches and it was nice to see Tricole win. The first French player to ever get through to the next round of the world championship🙂👍

What an impactful day at the palace. Mario lost his tourcard. Man Lok Leung, who initially failed to qualify by losing a tiebreaker match for 4th place in Asian Tour OOM and got his chance only after the Asian Championship winner was Japanese, eliminated rising star Gian van Veen, who is a World Youth Championship runner-up and this years' Development tour winner.

The world championship always throws up surprises and that is the first and I am sure there will be more

The Van Veen v Leung matc h is the best match in the tournament to date. Wow. Really nice watch. I feel for the loser. But I feel great for the winner, too!

Leung actually has a throw similar to Mario's but much better. It's quicker, more solid, better rhythm and his arm is straighter with a better follow through.
