Not every university is like that, I'm not saying to not be cautious though. A university being deamed "unsafe" is a negative stereotype. They're not all like that, I'm currently attending TX Tech University and anything bad rarely has happened here since I started 2 years ago!

I used to work security at a college dorm. I overheard a group of sorority girls talking about how they felt bad for giving a pledge alcohol poisoning. We didn't know who the girl was so all we could do was log it. I've hated sororities ever since.

I love how they showed how toxic sororities can be, it's why I don't want to be in one myself. I know the good they can do and the bonds they can form, but the danger of conforming is outrageous. I could never imagine helping a girl be raped

They definitely can be, but I also think the media portrays greek life based on stereotypes and it's not always the most accurate. As someone who is in a sorority, you really have to trust your gut to know what sororities are worth joining based on the vibe you get from current sisters of that sorority when you meet them and talk with them. That's really what it comes down to. It's definitely not perfect and good all the time, but all the benefits you get definitely outweigh the bad. I hope this gives you some perspective! :)

Right. The administration and actual adults need to better supervise the activities at schools and sororities . When I was in Uni, there were guys that would go around on Fridays and invite students(mostly girls) to parties. I would always tell them no.
my sister's greek life forbids parties at sorority houses but not at frats which limits the control girls have over situations esp involving underaged drinking and consent and generally everything and the school has swept the blatant sexual assault on campus under the rug, truly horrendous

sororities at my university were not allowed to have coed parties at their sorority houses but were allowed to organize coed parties at other venues. they normally had security and designated drivers, cabs, buses etc arranged for everybody to get home safely also.
This is a tv show but I once saved a girl from some guy at a frat party and a girl in the sorority I dropped soon after stated “that’s the girl that talked to my ex after we broke up, you should have left her with him”

Defense attorneys have to fight a system that gives a lot of advantages to law enforcement and prosecutors, so I wouldn't be surprised to see aggressive attorneys.

My school didn't have fraternities or sororities, but I saw enough SVU to not want to become a part of one. I never like hanging with the "in" crowd anyway--they always seemed way to phoney to me. I'd rather be me.

I guess there's the risk that if you disposed of it and didn't do it well enough, and it was found - that clues people in that something's gone on, even if no other knowledge of the crime has got out yet. So then there's an investigation going on that you might get caught up in, that would only exist in the first place because you tried to get rid of the evidence.

I began watching this show @ the age of 13 & I am now 45! I watch these kinds of shows because I always wanted to be a lab technician for either the local police department or the FBI. Due to my seizure disorder I would have to be seizure free for 2 years before I could even take the forensics course by law in N.C!

It was, lol, easily. I still watch the new ones, but the Stabler years were epic.
I went through rush in college. After 2 nights of rush parties, I decided it wasn’t for me, only to have my rush counselor call me back to reconsider, only to get rejected. I should have said no and stuck to my guns. I know it sounds like sour grapes, those two nights bored me.

I think what Pamela did was she took entire episodes and posted those episodes to her account without any commentary. Copyright infringement like that is not covered by the fair use umbrella. Just saying. There are many people on KZread that will take an episode of Law & Order or Criminal Minds, etc, and will discuss that episode and show clips of specific scenes to prove their point. There are others that will take movie clips and will discuss the entire movie. That is fair use, those accounts are still up.

Sounds like you don't like him. You'll often see things changing between seasons 1 and 2 of a show like this as they figure out what works and what doesn't. He originally came on as a guest star and they liked him so much they asked him to stay.

At the same time though, it isn’t always wrong. Stuff like this does happen whether we like it or not. I will admit that some tv shows and movies exaggerate it. We’re mostly seeing the events of those shows and movies through one point of view which is mostly the main character. Plus some of those people in those shows and movies actually exist in one form or another. Like people like those two college girls trying to hide the evidence isn’t unrealistic especially with the amount of pettiness with their motives for doing what they did.
