The symbolism of the voice parts in the B section is really touching - First Andrew tries to pull Rob up, but he keeps slipping back down into dissonance. Second time Rob is able to rise up, but not all the way. Third time, Andrew meets him all the way down on his lower note and brings reinforcements to lift Rob all the way out. 😢

I really like the idea of making shorter songs like you were talking about, a little nap. No song structure, no rules. Just a vibe, a few lyrics, or not, and about 45 -90 seconds. When I was making music I was going to try to make an albums of shorter songs like that. They are like poems to me while a full song is a book.

Goosebumps. If it would somehow be possible to release a version of this song just with the two of you and the resenator and the ukulele, that would be amazing. The first time you two started playing with just these two instruments almost gave me a moment to finaly cry the tears stuck inside of me since a couple of days and allowed me to connect to them. It was such a beautyfull and vurnurable moment which at least to me, got a little bit lost in adding the other instruments. Of course this song is still a wonderfull piece of music and thank you guys for making such great conntent. 🖤

Always my favorite time of the year, coming across FOO. It gets better and better each year, not to diminish the previous albums....all of them written and recorded in one day is no small feat. Several songs this year hit me on different emotional levels. "Usually", "Magic", and "Dorian" specifically. Certain lyrics kind of tug at the right or wrong places for me recently. I've long struggled with depression and anxiety. The last 6 months have been probably the hardest in the last 6 years for me on an emotional and mental health level. But I've started to get help. One of the outlets I once had was playing guitar....but over the last several years I've given it up. This years FOO album has me wanting to pick up a guitar again and find a way to write those emotions out, even if the songs never go anywhere. The cathartic release of playing and singing the emotions out may be something I need to do. Thank you guys for the long 5 days as a band haha.

Most of the times, music helps me coping with my inner feeling and demons but i can handle my feelings most of the time. But this song. To be honest with you, made me tear up nearly instantly. Im going trough some rough times with lots of self doubts and stress. And only the first line is enough to get my eyes wet but also the "second View" of the supporting friend which represent my friends and most of them my girlfriend also shows the side, of the people who are always their for me. Its such a short song. But its so powerful and perfectly describes my sitution lately. It is realy realy realy moving for me to listen to this song and first thing was to add it to some of my playlists. I appreciate what you two are doing and just want to say thank you for a song which helps to bring all the emotions to the surface and stop hiding them inside. I guess the Feeling of you are not alone is just so powerful for me at the momentan. Continue with what you guys are doing, and never stop, making such beatiful music.

Andrew seems a little uncomfortable about breaking the rule. But he realizes it’s important to Rob so he goes along with it. What a supportive friend.

Andrew was the one who first suggested the idea. Rob said they could do it in time and then changed his mind.

Andrew & Rob, just want to say thank you for making this show and taking extra time with songs like this to make them sound as special as they are. I've been watching both of your channels for many years now and the 1st of October albums have become something I legitimately look forward to for the entire year, and to see you guys finding more ways to make music with each other is truly such a net positive in the world. Keep rocking on and keep inspiring, you guys are the purest representation of the human connection music is supposed to bring to all of us.

Love how this turned out. 3:15 - 3:30 is giving me "Hide And Seek" vibes in the best way and now I can't unhear it. Feels like there is a vocoder, synth remix/version waiting to happen. ;)

I woke up super excited to watch this video as i did my daily routine and by the end i was on my ass crying my eyes out. This song perfectly has represented the kinds of hardships i've been going through sinde the start of this year and how my SO has been there for me every single step of the way. I love the two of you ever since i found you guys through your first of october videos. Been around since the first album ten hours and you guys never cease to amaze every single song no matter how crazily or how seriously you take the creative process. Shine on to you guys and the crew. You all rock!
