You are the reason I got a kayak and I really haven't gotten it on the water but once. I turned over in 53 degree water and am waiting for it to warm up. No fun in the cold water! Im hoping i'll do better in the future. I want to do some screw sealing and a few other things before I go out again. (Outriggers) might be a must.

Great idea for seat but try spraying the fabric with silicone waterproofing spray . i have to put it on my bimini top on my pontoon every couple of months it works great. There are several brands to choose from you probably have different brands in florida but You should try one. I hope it works out. I just love watching your videos. Your definitely living my future life but have to retire first in a day to day grind for now,but keep up on your videos, I always feel like i'm right there with you with use of your GO-pro cameras great for us ,probably lot of work for you.

I have a couple different fishing kayaks and I’ve rigged up some pretty nice seats. On my vibe yellowfin 100 I took the seat out and long story short I use two cushion and a 2 by 12 and just lay the 2 by 12 on the cushions as to not ding your kayak up and it works Gr8. On my two person kayak I use bean bags and they work freakin great ! Comfy, conforms, and is perfect that I can lay back for a few and stretch my back out if need be

The only problem is those office chairs are ridiculously expensive! Worse than that, the last one I bought had a thin sheet of plastic as the base with cardboard in between. In a few months I was sitting on the pedestal because the rest folded over from normal use. Needless to say, it ended up in a landfill some where! A good, strong office chair would cost more than a stadium seat. Or even fancy boat seat.

The spool suits you better at the desk. You don't come across as someone who wants to sit at a desk.

Cool re-purposing. Might try to replace the foam in the seat with some closed-cell foam, so as not to soak-up water. If/when the orginal foam gets wet it'll be like sitting on a wet sponge.

Marty you should try scotch guarding the seat so you can spray it down. I have know idea if it will work just giving a idea great fish.
