A small but VERY illegal LEGO build

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In full disclosure, this build is definitely difficult in that final step of assembly. The alignment of the plates must be close to perfect, and even then there’s a lot of struggle to force the pieces into place. The fascinating thing is that ultimately there's no stress in this build--these are incomplete connections. So in the classic sense this build is VERY illegal, and yet the bricks are 100% fine. It's just somewhat fragile.
I also didn’t show some 'off camera' work to tweak a few of the plates that didn’t quite line up (only because it would be boring to watch). That being said, I don’t know if there’s a cooler LEGO wheel that is this small with so few pieces. Definitely a nice little desk ornament / fidget toy. ☺️
The cost of shipping for the pieces for this build is probably more than the LEGO plates themselves, but here's a great BrickLink store in the USA that I've ordered from many times (not a sponsor or affiliate): store.bricklink.com/Brock?ite...
Of course, search around for the price, color, and shipping costs that makes you the happiest. (Although fair warning, not all colors have the same 'clutch' power so order a couple of colors if you can just in case.)

How do you figure out how much compliance your builds have or need? Is it just a bunch of trial and error?

ILLEGAL BUILDS: FELONIES & MISDEMEANORS No one seems to have a set definition of what is and what isn’t an allowed LEGO building technique. These collective norms in the fan community are called “legal” or “illegal” techniques based on a now-infamous presentation by LEGO designer Jamie Berard. Rules are routinely stretched, and everyone has a long and convoluted personal definition of what is considered purist-and what is not. Illegal LEGO building techniques can be classified as a connection between LEGO bricks which is too fragile or puts stress on any of the bricks in question. Though lots of LEGO builders online use a number of these illegal techniques, applying them to your builds can result in the warping or breaking of your bricks. Some builders also call a technique illegal when there is no connection between the pieces. This is because if the model was touched, everything would fall apart.
