The more you speak, the more I learn. Enjoying the longer vids.
Best video on greens I've seen, yes more like this please.
Chris I've been learning to paint for a little while now, and I never even realised that to desaturate a colour you would add its complement. Such a big "Oh my god of course it does" moment. Thank you for all your video's. Keep smashing it!

Don't you mean "desaturate" a color?

@@RatusMax Yes thank you, mistype. Long day at work %_%
Going into more depth is very helpful! Thank you!
Hi Chris, I am a painter who hasn't done it in a while, don't know why, whatever!! Lol I was browsing KZread to see if I would find the inspiration to pick up the paint brushes again. I ran into your channel and I was not disappointed! You reminded me of the beauty of our art which I should've never set aside. I earned my BFA from Parsons School of Design in NY City way back in the 80s. To make a long story short I got married and started raising a family which got me terribly sidetracked from oil painting. I've done it ever since of course but not nearly as much as I should've. I have worked as a graphic designer for many years, but my true love has been oil painting. Thank you so much for giving me back the bug again. I subscribed!! 🎨🖌️
Thank you so much!!! I have been painting forever and still learning! That's what is so great about creating art. Green in landscapes is so challenging and you have taken the pain out of creating the perfect green. So simple & logical once you understand color mixing.
Binged a ton of your videos for the past 2 days and I wanna say that something just clicked in my mind from all the past art videos I have watched regarding things like color theory, saturation, shapes, and especially value. I feel like I think like an artist now and it's all thanks to your videos - you explain things simply which I feel makes you a great teacher. Thanks for the great videos!
This style of video is VERY helpful. It's good to watch you mix and hear your reasoning. Well done! 👏
Very important lesson. Thank you. You can transform ordinary photo into masterpiece.
Yes love this, the longer video is much better for me 👍👍
Thank you Chris for sharing this. Love the longer in depth videos. Would love to see more like it. I highly recommend your patreon to anyone wanting to learn.
Thank You Chris. Very helpful.
Greens are SO tricky! Working in the Northeast in the summer time, constantly battling the green-on-green-on-green landscapes. Would love to see a demo of deciduous trees and summer fields.
Great video on greens -- process, depth, color adaptation, and big shapes, small details. Very helpful. Liked the length. Thanks.
This is the most targeted content ever, I just was plein air painting and struggled with greens! Thank you so much!

Happy to help!
Thank you so much! Your style of teaching is very helpful!! Greens have always been a challenge for me. Explaining the use of each color to create distance and then using it while explaining is really helpful! Simply and clearly communicated! Well done!
Great tutorial. I struggle with greens. Please create more tutorials. Thanks
Yes to more videos like this! The length was great and loved the specific focus on one element. Thanks!!

You got it!
I love this type of video. Seeing the process is so helpful for a visual learner.
Really valuable video you show practical example and what you think, to get to your desire for expression in your color choice and composition. So yes; This form of teaching is welcome and valuable! Thanks PC!
Excellent video - I learned so much. The longer ones are really great, at least until I can join your patreon group.
Someone I was watching a couple of years ago said use black and yellow to get a nice starter landscape green, and that's what I've been doing ever since.
Wowoooo! Thank you, great learning 👍👍👍
This is about learning and re learning and re learning for me THANK YOU
You are an absolute genius.. love the longer videos

More to come!
Thank you for explaining this so logically. I just see the colour components and can't explain to others why I mixed certain colours 😂 I actually rarely use actual green, and mostly ochre and blue with some addition of a red hue, of course depending on the distance of the objects.
All for videos are well done...the longer ones are great

I love your videos, I paint with acrylics though. Would your painting la escapes 101 be for me? I haven't been painting long.

Yes, It would be good for you. I have had a lot of acrylic painters go through my courses and get a lot out of them.
Ok I'll ask. What does saturated mean?
I have to ask ,what is wrong with using a knife to make sure paint ? 🙂
I never like the way my distant mountains and rocks look... thanks for sharing.

Try and use burnt Sienna, blue, and white for distant rocks in mountains
Maybe I misunderstood 🤔 Did you not only use artistic freedom on the mountain but also on the colour values in order to make the picture work? It must be just due to my monitor that I associate more of a warm summer vibe with your colours, especially with the foreground of the closest tree. But if that was your plan, I failed to understand what made you chose warmer greens instead of sticking to the colder greens as given in the reference photo. Or did your eyes really pick up the red in the reference? Second problem that I would definitely have is the amount of paint on the pallet. I would have mixed the green I like and quickly run out of it only to mix the same colour again. But that would certainly make a slightly different green. I'd do that a couple of times and my greens would be all over the place. Anyhow, you asked if the length of this kind of tutorial is better than the other ones. Both is equaliy valuable. It depends on the message. 💁♂
Correction : your paint. 🙂 ty.
