    I grew up in the 60s and 70s going to that track back when the old wooden stands still stood, yet I was there in the early 2000s when two of my cousins raced there. Got to see them win a feature. Another cousin used to be the tech inspector. Many good racers have come out of that area. It was either Hickory Speedway (closed), Mercer, Sharon, Lernersville, or Speedway 7 to decide where to go on any given weekend.

    You only gotta run faster than three cars, there, Tanner, and when you do that, then you'll be There! Great run, Tanner, you're now showing that you belong among the Best of the Best. It looks like you've made the breakthrough and now deserve to run with The World of Outlaws. God Bless and stay safe and don't lose Carly as your tire and engine changer.💯🔥👍🏁

    What I like about Sharon Speedway is that it used to be a half-mile dirt oval. You can still see the old half-mile track outside of the track. Which is from turn 2 to turn 4. Way more prominently from the backstretch to turn 4. Very cool touch by the previous promotors to keep that lineage!

    Outlaw sprints used to run 17.5, 17.8 seconds at that track when it was 1/2 mile. Man they really flew. Just up under 100mph on entry. We lived up on the hill a few miles from there and even when we didn't go we listened to the races. ❤

    Tanner, you were reeling them back in after Had went around you and the you start climbing back. Not sure I agree Tanner on your turns 1 & 2 comment, seems and sounded to me a lot of T1&2 spent idling round the corner when several times a slide and gas down to pass traffic instead of waiting for the straight may have helped..have rewatched again and have same conclusion...apart from that I look foward to each video and am impressed with the learning journey, although I also miss the cart battles between you and Carly

    I looked at the WOO points stats. Do you realize your Finishing place percentage is ahead of Jason's. At 14 races in for both of you, you are ahead of Day in points, who is considered one of the great young talents out there. You're in a position to finish ahead of half the WOO regulars. Keep digging and don't have to get a bigger helmet size. Well you got your dream, and you found you are competitive, now the big question! Do you really want to be part of the carny that is the WOO tour, or have just as much satisfaction racing with your family and enjoying the benefits of a more normal life. Either way take time to enjoy the blessing.

    5:40 "It's *literally* an ice skating rink." *No it isn't.* It's literally a speedway. The ice skating rink, is a metaphor.

    Surprised you aren’t correcting him on the “literally could throw a blanket on them” either. Literally can mean figurative now, language evolves.

  • @skepticusmaximus184

    @skepticusmaximus184

    9 ай бұрын

    @@H3110NU "Literally", literally means the OPPOSITE of figurative. Language does evolve, but we should all hope that it evolves in a positive useful way. To what benefit of language, is the evolution of the word 'literally' now becoming a direct synonym of its actual antonym? I'm also curious to know what word you'd propose as a candidate for the definition that the word 'literally' LITERALLY used to mean? Also, note that speaking figuratively doesn't usually require a qualifier. You can say "it's an ice skating rink out there", and most people will know that you're speaking figuratively. You're making an analogy. If you said "it's *like* skating on ice" it would be a simile. The qualifier "literally" becomes helpful, when there's some chance that what the speaker says, might be taken as figurative. What's annoying, is not the ordinary helpful and constructive evolution of language, but the debauching of language, by means such as suddenly starting to use words as if they mean the exact OPPOSITE of their nominally excepted definition. So *NO!* Literally *DOES NOT* mean "figurative" goddamn it. It never has and as far as I'm concerned, NEVER WILL.
