A short announcement about EngineerGuy videos (August 2017)

Ғылым және технология

In this video Bill explains why there haven't been many videos in the last year. It's partly because he wrote a book and because he appeared in a Science Channel series. The book is on the last great British airship: details at www.engineerguy.com/airship -- which includes a free audiobook.

    The Eclectic Dyslexic while "the selfish gene" makes that point quite well, bear in mind the "selfish" part, so by and large if you get more out of your family, spend more time there, if not, well one might ask why you have one in the first place (children that is, we have no control over who our parents and siblings are)

    Who do you think you are to "thank" him for having his priorities in "right" place?

  • @211teitake

    @211teitake

    6 жыл бұрын

    Jimmy, 1. Creathir didn't thank him "for raising his kids right" and I was not offended for that, 2. What is absurd is your self-righteousness, 3. How did you determine that he was "raising his kids right" from this short clip and what constitute the "right" way of raising a kid? 4. I think you are right about you being confused.

    Jimmy, 1. When did I say I was offended? 2. What is the "right" way of raising a kid? 3. How did you determine that Bill is raising his kid "right" from a less than 2 minutes video mostly consisting of announcements? Why don't you start from answering these questions since your arguments are based on these points? (My assumption is that you are capable of holding a rational conversation but it's okay with me if you aren't.)

    But by buying the book, a very large percentage of that investment is lining the pockets of the manufacturer/publisher/distributor instead of Bill -- and of course, another large percentage covers the cost of the materials themselves - he probably only sees like 25% of the money put towards the books. If you were interested in owning the book, sure, but if you just wanted to compensate him/show appreciation for the audiobook, a direct donation/Patreon one-off would be better!
