It's not animated, he cut the legs into 2 parts down the middle in order to make them separate I think, and then he made knee joints I don't know how but I know he did because you can see the medal pin that holds the joint together.

Jacob, it's been an amazing journey. From making jokes about this on the discord server to actually writing the script for this and sending you the figures. Seeing you make this was incredible and it truly was an amazing experience. I hope we can do something like this again in the future.
