A Shed You Can Build in a Few Hours (Timelapse) 2x4 Basics EZ Shed Build
I'm going to build this 2x4 Basics Shed as fast as I possibly can. Is the quality any good on these EZ Sheds? Let's put it all to the timelapse test here on our duck and goose farm. I'm ultimately going to use this building as a brooder for my ducks and geese.

About Gold Shaw Farm: Gold Shaw Farm is more of a farm-in-progress than an honest-to-goodness farm. Our dream is that someday we are able to transform our 150+ acre parcel of land into a regenerative and productive homestead and farm.

My grandpa had a cow farm. He retired recently and he has been going on lots of vacations with my grandma because you cant really take a vacation when you need to take care of big cows. He tells me to finish my milk because he understands that a farmer's life isn't always an easy one but it's a necessary job and we'd all have a much harder life without them. Support your local farmers because they work from sunrise to sunset... I'm happy my grandpa is seeing more of the world and going on cruises because he deserves it for working since he was a kid... now he helps my grandma with her pottery business that is doing very well considering the whole pandemic thing... the wonders of online shopping!!!

Acow farm you say .lol Interesting concept . I wonder at what size a cow farm becomes a cattle ranch or are there size requirements ? Lets say can a miniature cow farm ever become a cattle ranch. I guess what I am wondering is when does a farm qualify to being a ranch . Or do farms do a certain trade and a ranch does different things and one will never become the other . So many questions

I love how Toby is beside you ”helping” 😊 my dog, Bruno does exactly the same. It isn't always safe when he does though, for a dog that is scared witless of the vacuum cleaner, the lawnmower and power tools have no fear and those are where he could get hurt, go figure 🙄

I don't like this guy though... he is one of those new age type people going after good western culture. he should be living in new york city in an apartment, bachelor with his whole family "hole" family.
Watching the geese in the background, observing your efforts.... priceless!
Your building skills have vastly improved, especially with Toby's supervision. My goodness he is growing big!!! Every build is a learning experience and I am sure this brooder will do the job for you.
I don’t know the ups and downs of your day to day life, but thank you for putting your best foot forward in your videos. It makes crappy days seem not so bad.
I love the Geese just chilling in the background most of the time.
Thank you for being candid about the positives and negatives of the kit and the process. I appreciate it because I want to build a shed, and I don't care for the ones I can buy at the big box stores. Also, my building skill set is modest.
Definitely a good idea to build in a run for their "teenage" weeks. Our girls were starting to forage at around 2 weeks old (helped me reduce their protein intake too, and no angel wing). Also - they can go into shallow water before 4 weeks! If you have the time to supervise them and it's a warm sunny day, letting them have a little pool time with some platforms for resting will encourage them to swim and then you won't have a bunch of 4 week old ducks acting terrified of a kiddy pool 😂
Nice to see that Toby is helping!
Morgan, I have been following you for a while now and I am thoroughly impressed! You and Allison started quite an ambitious adventure! You try. You make mistakes. You try again. You succeed. I love that you are a big enough man to put yourself out there and share the good, the bad and the ugly. It kind of irritates me when people rag on you unkindly. But from what I can tell you try to take the bad with the good. That's admirable. You and Allison work very hard! I'm rooting for y'all all the way. Blessings to you and your future on Gold Shaw Farm. I'll be watching! 😻
How funny that you're doing this! Just this whole week I have been trying to figure out a chicken coop solution that actually works with my budget, and I was looking at these. I was dubious. Thanks for the empyrical data!
Morgan, I think you have done very well with the shed frame. As a teenager I spent many an hour constructing flat pack furniture for customers who bought from the shop I worked in. I've done a few and your end product looks fine to me. It will be strong once sheeted out. Instructions... Veh! Good to see the pond holding water. You can see how much the fowl appreciate it. Regards to Allison. Hope work is not too stressful. Regards Stephen.

Seems good so far! Was easy to talk to about his My Shed Plans [Go Here=> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. Guided me in the right direction & helped me understand everything & in the end it was what I wanted
You hit the nail right on the head about not over committing in one direction. I built a shed the old fashioned way. It was hard work but we assembled a store bought green house and that thing had a million parts and included directions for another size...I thought it was a nightmare but mamas happy...nice place you got there!
4:02 is my favorite part when you took a small break and gave Toby some lovin :)
last garden shed i built took about a week to build pretty impressive you did it in a few hours good job man!
Thank you!! I bought this kit and have been hesitant to put together cuz I've never never built a shed all tho I'm pretty handy and have tons of tools. I'm sooo happy I watched you do it!!

Great job! I've built a couple of these sheds and definitely helps to have 2 people. A tip for anyone else wanting to build these...to get the 2x4s to easily fit in those front and back truss brackets is to slip a scrap 2x4 in the brackets before you screw the legs and arch studs in. That way they hold their shape to accept the truss 2x4s.
@rhettstephenson1316

Agreed. I doubled the kits for the 14x8. By yourself makes it pretty tricky. I also found that using a scrap piece to insert while screwing together made things way easier.

@@ricardojnba it has been a while but I think mine was in the $200 range but I had a few sheets of OSB and plywood. My son just bought me one of these kits, and I was looking for a video to show me if it's worth my time. I just happen to click on your video, and I am so glad I did. you laid out everything with the pros, and cons. I have an empty lot next door, and I am going to try it this summer. Thanks, and I like the ducks , geese.
4:25 - Love the barrel distortion!
Let's give Toby a thumbs up for keeping his human motivated and entertained. It was a tough job for the pup but he managed it.
Looks like this kit provides the motivation to get started...
Thanks for making this video. Been thinking about these for a while and they're pretty much exactly what I expected
Thanks man, this is what I needed. For someone who would've hired someone to build IKEA furniture just a few years ago you've come a long way. You even dropped a birds mouth cut. Well done. I bought this one too for my property and glad that you made this video. I would add blocking between the studs even though its not required. It will help to add more structural integrity to those "walls". But I'm keeping, ths your video as a guide. Thanks again for posting!!
I was looking at those EZ Frame kits! Nice to see an honest review. You described pretty much what I thought the kit would be like.
“The Wire” Such a great show. 👍🏻 Good looking tiger shed buddy!
U R the best at explaining how to do things.. I'm totally addicted to your videos
That is a fantastic video! You explained very well how those hing kits work. I have built a couple of sheds without them just using 2X4's , 1/2 inch OSB boards big nails and a base built on 4X4s and OSB board and more 2X4s but your approach looks a lot easier. One thing I learned was that building a shed was not as easy as one might think and every time you build one you learn a lot more! So thanks!!
I have never related to anything more in my life than watching this shed be built. My skills are just above IKEA level, so I can easily see this being my struggle, lol.
I love how Toby and the ducks were just chilling with you while you put together the roof pieces, adorable :D And the pond is looking great!
Yes! I like how you said that you're a man who 5 years ago would have paid to have his IKEA furniture built. GIVES ME SO MUCH HOPE~! Thanks for being such a great role model for stardew gamers looking to transition that to real life.
I think these baby ducks will be happy to be in this nice shed

Thanks man. Nice job. Great video too. Was looking at sheds today for about $4500. I think we’re going to give one of these a shot!
This video was rather insightful! Great Job.
I’m so glad I came across your video😊. Your disclosures about some difficulties are very helpful. I bought this kit without researching it. So thank you so much for posting and helping.
I built a 12x16 shed by myself. Took me 3 months to build and over the year's I have learned "that any thing worth building is worth the time to do it" I took the time to do "birds mouth" and angles. I didn't turn out perfect like what I see contractors do. But the more layers you put on the stronger It gets. Angels didn't match up but when I finished it was so strong. I also have learned that following the steps in the order of those companies frustrates me . I was going to buy the wood kit from HD then decided against it and I never been Happier! Your video are great love you farm!
Your skills just keep improving, am sure your wife and family are proud of your accomplishments.
Your videos are very entertaining and offer a great distraction from all the madness going on. Well done!
I like your music. It’s great for getting moving this morning!

Your aside about wanting to stay flexible for now is great advice for people interested in farming in general. You should avoid any level of strict rigidity. That flexibility may cause you some minor issues in the future, but it will also allow you to easily maneuver if a problem arises so it kinda cancels out. Being able to just appreciate what you have and tinker is an excellent way to live.
Nothing beats a well built 16" OC wall
