Kate was the perfect choice for Flemeth she captured both the enigmatic, harsh and sarcastic tone that Flemeth the interesting character she is.

If we take out the companions, Flemeth is the most intereresting NPC in the entire Dragon Age Franchise. Fans speculated for five years who and what she really was and now that we know, we just have even more questions to ask. Simply amazing, both the writing and the voice acting. Oh, and thank you Madame Mulgrew for that beatiful explanation of gaming as an art form.

one of the most charismatic and powerful women playing the most powerful character,.. I grew up with Kate as Captain Janeway and its such an honor to have her fantastic voice as Flemeth. I can't see anyone else pulling it off like her!!

Just listen to how much she enjoys playing this character! She understands her so well and we, as players, can feel it through the screen Incredible woman and actress💜

I always think that she could be Shepard's mother.

Geebus, she was, and still is, the perfect voice for Flemeth. Whoever brought her on board at BW for this part should get an award for ingenious bit of casting.

"Encompasses empathy and a kind of strength that brooks no foolishness, and no destruction of the world she has spent thousands of years creating." Could this be a teaser? I know it could apply to [SPOILER!!!!] her pre-veil world, but it could also be hinting at the future of current Thedas.

I believe the latter to be true. Flemeth is the kind of a character that clearly understands how the world works. Nothing in the story surprised her, she has answers to everything, she knows the hearts of men. Both of her stories are tragic and yet she actively works to preserve this world. Others in her place could give in to the grief and use that great power to bring misery and destruction; but she chose to act like a responsible mother. Mythal and Flemeth clearly understand each other really well, that's the reason why Mythal came to Flemeth in the first place, as she said in the story. That's why I don't think Mythal supports Solas' plan. Perhaps, in her great wisdom, she saw a third way out.

​@4RedJohn Likely. There's almost always a third option. Few people take the time to look, or take it. The writers, if they had remained at Bioware, were well aware of this. They often capitalized on it artfully. I don't see any future installments being nearly as layered or flavourful. Cheers.

Seriously hope they bring back Kate Mulgrew for the next game. They can't let her Flemeth die off like that. Wouldn't be the same nor as good with another actress.

Something about listening to Kate speak about Flemeth is just mystical. I've always loved Kate since I first saw her as a child when she played Janeway in Star Trek, and now that she's played (or possibly continuing to play?) such a vastly interesting character, it makes me wish I knew her. She has such an understanding of the characters she plays, and it shows in her work. ♥

This video, particularly her analysis of Flemeth, gave me chills! I have never heard such a great explanation of this character, and she has brilliantly put into words why Flemeth is a phenomenal character. Her passion and understanding of this character is clear. Bioware made a great choice with Kate Mulgrew.

Good god, I was wondering why Jane Lattimer (from Warehouse 13) sounded so unsettling despite her down-to-earth, motherly role in that series. I WAS HEARING F-ING FLEMETH! And wow, her answers to those interview questions... kudos for supporting video games as a medium. I love this woman!

I could hear Kate talking about how she worked on that perfect Flemeth voice for hours. It's not Dragon Age without our fav witch goddess, mother in law of my Warden.

Flemeth immediately became one of my favorite characters of DA. And absolutely Kate as her voice actor. She's right. Video games are more than just games, they do reflect a part of who we'd like to be. And for me, Flemeth in her ethereal realm of gray is very much what I'd like to be someday.

Kate did the absolute best voice. Flemeth is a wonderfully crafted character full of surprises. Hard to do when everyone expects it anyways.

I've been re watching Voyager as I replay Dragon Age and it seriously is one of the greatest things to do hahaha Kate is the best

In each of the Dragon Age games my Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor has always made sure to get on her good side. Some tips: 1) Be polite. She appreciates good manners. 2) Be witty but not overly sarcastic. She likes a good chuckle. 3) Don't attack her without hearing what she has to say first. Given what happened at the end of the "Trespasser" DLC, I'm counting on meeting Flemeth again. Cannot wait! :)

I just remember the first time I played Origins, I think I spent majority of the game thinking about what Flemeth actually was. And now that Inquisition is out, we have some answers.... but those answers only give us more questions than we had before. I love it. Thank you Kate Mulgrew for doing such an amazing job with this character that is probably the most fascinating character in the series.

Woah I have always respected and liked Flemeth but damn this is new high, Kate Mulgrew is awesome!

Strange is why this video appeared in my feed today, and stranger still I never thought to look for this channel. Why did Bioware move away from the more traditional suits of armour for warriors that littered Origins, and if this game is ever remade, I would like to see a wider range of staves and clothing for mages

I hope Kate Mulgrew still get's to voice Flemeth in the next gamer or two-or her... _other_ passenger. Because god damn, she and her character/s are excellent. Also, remember when Bioware said teleportation wasn't possible? Apparently that rule doesn't apply to Flemeth.

Blackemperess Or any enemy mage in Da2 and Inqusition which. is bullshit lol. It's a cheap tactic from the developers to cheapen the experience battling a mage.

Flemeth was always interesting. A strange blend of sinister but sympathetic. I didn't like the idea of, say, attacking her in DA:O because, to me, despite said sinister undertones, she never gave the impression of being what Morigan claimed, yet you could easily believe it if you were wrong. Huge credit to Kate for making a is-she-or-isn't-she-a-villain so captivating, and really glad she appeared in all three games, even if just briefly.

Flemeth is my favorite character in Dragon Age! I hope to see more of her character in the future :)

I wish that bioware would invent a character just for Kate for mass effect Andromeda. A female krogan for my team or an Asari . It would be incredibly interesting to see what this extremely talented actress could bring to these important races. Her contribution would most certainly put a new spin on them. Hope to have Kate back in dragon age inquistion dlc or the next dragon age game. Loved her.

I love Kate Mulgrew.

For all the great voice acting in the DA games, and in Inquisition in particular (simply because there's more of it), I don't think any can better either Flemeth or Solas'. Both actors gave such gravitas, such emotion and such palpability to these characters. And the glory that is to have Janeway playing a goddess of creation is just... Gnnnngg! I love it.
