In the sea north of Cebu in the Philippines, there's a forest of seaweed being farmed, unlike any that the locals have known. It’s a response to the devastating impact of climate change on seaweed-farming communities across the region.

    "Goso" seaweed is eaten fresh as a vegetable (delicious!), I believe it can also be used as a source of carageenan, processed into an additive for various foods and cosmetics.

    *The international law* is very clear on the South China Sea: - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including the Philippines 🇵🇭, - the rest of it is the international water, - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

    Article 298 of the International law explicitly said _"a state may declared in writing that it does not accept any one or more other ways the law proposes to settle territorial disputes". this might sound controversial but in reality nearly 40 countries did that. Australia, Argentina, Canada, Denmark the list goes on to speak nothing of the U.S. who did not ratify the law in first place so in say no to compulsory arbitration on sovereignty China has plenty of company in the Western world.._ . *Declarations made by States Parties under article 298:* . China The Government of the *People's Republic of China does not accept any of the procedures provided* for in Section 2 of Part XV of the Convention with respect to all the categories of disputes referred to in paragraph 1 (a) (b) and (c) of Article 298 of the Convention. . . Australia "The Government of Australia further declares, under paragraph 1 (a) of article 298 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea done at Montego Bay on the tenth day of December one thousand nine hundred and eighty-two, that it *does not accept any of the procedures provided* for in section 2 of Part XV (including the procedures referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this declaration) with respect to disputes concerning the interpretation or application of articles 15, 74 and 83 relating to sea boundary delimitations as well as those involving historic bays or titles." . .
