A Sanou 4 Jaw chuck for my Vevor 7x17 mini lathe. Initial tear down, cleaning and measuring.

Ғылым және технология

So, I have a problem with making my cheap Central Machinery drill press work with my cheap Chinese X / Y as a low grade mill. The problem is cutting the hole in an aluminum plate so that I can make a new chuck depth control bracket. To do that, I tried a hole cutter, a cheap one, which did not give the hole I needed. So now I want to mount the new bracket up on my lathe and use a boring bar to make the final cut.
To that end, I bought a Sanou 4 jaw chuck, model number K72-100 (NO.1 QUALITY). I will be mounting this on the lathe. The first step is to break it down and clean it up as it is quite filled with oil and such.

You should perhaps make this into two videos, the front section is a bit off subject.
