Yeah the culture is changing and morality is being left behind. Morality is no longer considered desirable. I hear that many stores in San Francisco are closing and leaving because shoplifting is becoming so common and accepted. People are killing others at a rate we have never see before (other that war time). Violence is on the increase everywhere and some places the police officers are told to stand down and allow the violence to occur. The news even ran a piece on "golf rage" - fights breaking out on the Golf courses (of all places). The Baptist "are" losing some membership, but conservative non denominational churches are gaining membership among Gen. Zs.

Next move; women should form their own religion and church.
The worship of Paul is at the expense of following the teachings of Jesus. The distortion of Jesus's teachings by Paul is well-documented. Unlike his contemporaries in the Jewish communities he traveled and taught, many of the stories of Jesus prominently feature women, often elevating them above men in terms of their faith. It was women, not men, who found the empty tomb. And in some versions of the resurrection story, women, not men, first encountered the risen Christ. The worship of Paul is nothing new, but it is wrong.

Katy did a very sensitive job with this interview.
Without giving an opinion on this particular organization's action on women serving as pastors, just read a few of the comments left in this forum. It isn't a discussion on the issue here, but attacks on Christianity in general. So many, "this is why" comments to justify their choice to reject God and claim they have no religion or faith. The fact here though is that it is humanly impossible to not have a religion. because religion or faith is just to very similar words that mean "a belief system". Whatever you believe, is your religion or faith. There is one other dynamic here though, and you can find that dynamic by looking at who runs the Southern Baptist organization. It is the very same people that support anyone that is Trump-like. It is the very same people that stood by for centuries as their organization and those that support their organization, devastate minority groups throughout the US and other non-colonial countries and people.

@@johannkarsten I feel the same way about LGBTQ, as someone who is not LGBTQ
So sad the goal is to take all women’s rights away. But women will not go gently into that good night.
Well, isn't that special? We keep telling them their rights are NEXT. No one is safe from losing rights. Pay attention, women!
Bart Barber's statement was not incendiary. At least they are trying to be somewhat sensitive as they show women pastors the door.
"Whyah, we doan want y'all a'preachin' - them's fer the MENfolk ta do!! We's jus wants ya ta be good dutie-ful wives 'n keep us here husbinds happy 'n have them thar babies 'n keep makin' us vittles like a good wife'll do!! WHY cain't y'all wimminfolk jus 'cept that we'uns ain't never gun think a y'all as bein' equal?!?? Ah mean, y'all gots ta be lessen then us cuz you'se wuz made from our rib, lahk the good book sez!!! We AIN'T goan stan' fer this, nasuh!!!" - Them good ol' Southahn Baptist misogynistic preacher boys

The SBC is not a force for good.
It’s too bad that terms and roles end up conflated. The SBC is pushing back against churches that are walking away from the clear reading of scripture. While to me it sounds too strong or dismissive, I find that their argument is justified via interviews such as this. This pastor is obviously LGBT affirming, but how did she get there? By choosing to abandon the clear teaching of Scripture. This is what folks are concerned about. 🤷🏻♂️
She knows why Southern Baptist have not recognized women pastors. She also knew that when she became a minister and affiliated herself with the Southern Baptist
Romans 1:28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,
This is what happens when faith is the basis for a belief system.
1:24 I don't think it's appropriate of her to wear that rainbow colored religious clothing accessory.

She's an adult and an ordained minister. You aren't at least one of those.

Does God disapprove of rainbows?
How is this is a sad day? This is who you all are! Did you think you would be immune to having your rights taken away? You were fine with the heist. You just don't like your cut. I'm not sad to see these women lose their voice in the SBC organization. I'm waiting to laugh at who is next! 😂
She sinning and leading sinners and she knows it
No more Lottie Moon at her church.
If you didn’t allow your church to eviscerate the rest of us, your church wouldn’t be able to eviscerate you, so don’t act like this is something unheard of for or unthinkable. You help them placed their ducks in a nice little line, and you just ended up. Not seeing you were one of the ducks!
"God called me to do this." Different denominations and we still are doing it for God. Different rules per church. Jesus Christ is the light.
What saith the Scriptures? An Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ is a Pastor and a shepherd of the flock. The Bible teaches that an elder is the husband of one wife. An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, - 1 Timothy 3:2

Rules are rules.
Amen follow God
You are welcome in the Wesleyan Church
I love how people try to blame all Christians when some so-called Christians do something they don't like. Or something bad.
Noted
Schism. Be done with them.
Does it say in the bible why women can't can't be pastors or speak in church or whatever?
