I'm so sorry that you're being treated unkindly - I know it's hard to believe but those people will in time be nothing to you! - racism is just an excuse that sad pathetic bullies use to boost their own pathetic self esteem - bullies pick on any one that is different than themselves for any reason - I'm bullied by my neighbours because I'm a single mother living in a working class Catholic community - It's hard to imagine but this kind of torment adds strength of character & fosters empathy & compassion - Many of the most amazing & accomplished adults were bullied as children - However the typical bully remains a nothing as they age

The thing to remember is that bullies will pick any silly reason to belittle & hurt people - They pick up anything a little different & use that as ammunition - Everyone who's been bullied keep in mind that it i the bully who has the problem & not you! In reality the bullying isn't abut the victim but rather the bully - They generate attention for themselves & derive ego gratification from hurting people - There is satisfaction in making others feel as bad about their lives as they feel about their own life! I've been alive long enough to see just how these bullies grow into insignificant nobodies - On the flip side I've seen how victims of bullies grow into accomplished well adjusted adults - They are nothing & have nothing so they need a reaction to qualify themselves as significant because of their nothingness! Keep telling yourselves that the bulling is simply a phase & that it will be over - Don't let it get you down! If it does affect you deeply & causes ongoing stress or pain speak to an adult who will listen - Also keep in mind that the experience will help you to grow into a stronger person!

@@ICANTBELIEVEIAMHIM I live in sacramento one of the most culturally diverse places in america. there is racism every where but they are the outliers out here. tolerance gives birth to more tolerance and this place is proof. we accept that people are different because we grew up with all sorts of people and that's what we are used to. we are all the same. if you grew up here I think you would feel the same unless you grew up with a racist family but that's a different story but that's just my opinion.

You know what I love about this video? That instead of just crying over his loved one and blaming his parents or anything, he's trying to help the rest of us, I believe he came out of that stronger.

It was because people are afraid of things that are different and “new” (even tho lgbt people have been around throughout history). for me he saved my life by jumping onto me and save me when my daughter was born she said why would daddy say if he was still alive cause she made it to high level on singing almost a singer and she also has no legs cause of a bear attack when she said that about him I ran to my room locked myself in there didn't come out for three days. took pills smoked drink but that didn't help that just sent my child to child service. didn't see my daughter for the months.

He made this video to get a message across to people. I'm Catholic, but I'm not about to rip on him. If he's actually happy, who the hell am I to tell him no? I cannot be the only one who wants to take a trip to Tom's Parents house and give them a good brutal beat down for the awful things that they did. A very sad story, but a beautiful video! I'm so sorry for your loss. So many people don't ever get to experience love like that. You are brave to share this story. As for Tom's parents and uncle, I'm feeling a sliver of guilt to know they will live with the pain in the loss of him for the rest of their lives. Just a sliver. Honestly, they deserve to live with that pain.

I am gay, and I am so proud to be who I am, I have always had to deal with people bullying me and saying nasty things about me, just because I'm different. When you're small, you get taught it's good to be different, but how come adults struggle to understand that? This broke my heart, we are all allowed to love whomever we choose. If you are too sour and narrow-minded/heartless to understand that, then you honestly don't deserve to call yourself a human being. My heart goes out to this guy, and Tom. RIP Tom. His family really got absolutely nothing from their own son, while you got all that one person can possibly give to another. You had received the very best of him, his devotion, love, laughter and joy. Look at all they missed with their misguided hatred.

On July 2nd, I came out to my parents as bisexual. My dad was super supportive and said he was proud of me. But my mom didn't say anything, just huffed and rolled her eyes. She kept her mouth shut until she heard me pour my heart out to my dad about how I love my best friend that's a girl. She keeps telling me that I'm just going through a faze. That I'm just asking for attention. I told her today that the greatest thing I ever did in life was admit to myself that I was bisexual, and she rolled her eyes. She rolls her eyes or leaves the room when I bring up the topic of being bisexual. She told me to watch out for her mother (and brother) because they'd judge me. But she should have really warned me about herself.

I don't feel pity for this guy at all, more like a deep admiration. How does anyone go through something so hard. Open your eyes and realize how important someone is too you. Love if its real is the most wonderful thing you can have in life. I hope Tom is in a better place and I know he will keep you safe wherever you are sir...

I can't began to tell u how sorry I am for ur lose. It's so clear he was happy with u and the cause of his problems were his family. Ur story hits me deeply. I have many gay family members including my 19yr old sister. I love her and the others so much that we love their parents for loving and making them happy. Who r we to decide what God does or doesn't like. I understand the use the bible as a cop out but the bible also says he makes NO MISTAKES. I hope one day they realize the actual reason for their son's death and that it hurts them til the day they die. Again I'm really so sorry😢

It was a very heart warming video. I cried. I could feel uour pain. It was a great idea to share your feelings. We all have the right to live a notmal life, wether your eyes are green ir blue, tall or small, straight or not, brown or beige, wathever. Yes there is a purpose for you beeing alive. I live in Québec Canada and I never thought that other countries, such as France, Russia, certain states in the US, could be so retrograde. Thank you for sharing.

People are just sick. I still cant believe this actually happened. It sickens me, makes me ashamed of being part of this fucked up society! This brings me so much pain... And this brave man deserves all the love he can get. This is so unfair.

The lovely part is that indeed while we may be living in a fucked up society, while living in a world of zero tolerance people will emerge out of nothing, people that actually are worth and are good, people that care and dont care about if you are or not gay. I am not gay, I dont care if I ever have a gay son or daugther, I would be more concerned if he/she has a disease, or some kind of problems, being gay is not and shouldnt being even think as a "Disease" (I've heard people saying that). While watching this video you actually can feel the love, I would love to have a person to share my love, a real and pure love, its really sad but sometimes good people happen in your life, love comes in many ways and its not for us to either decide or judge, love is beatiful and to be honest we all can know that the boy's parents didnt love him, they cared more about a book of rules and what the neighborhood could've said rather than what he felt or how lucky he was for finding someone that loved him the way this man did. If I ever get to be a parent I would be happy to know that someone loves my child, also to know that person is brave enough to fight for the love of my child and is brave enough to keep living in a live that is sometimes so rude, crude and harsh, I would be proud to have someone like that in my child life, I wish many people could live according to what they believe (Good thoughts, nothing too crazy like public orgies :P) and not afraid of living. Today we cry, tomorrow we'll laugh, we all have to believe that the next day will be a brighter day no matter what.

I wasn't crying, there was just some ninjas cutting onions in the room. Damn onions.

i was looking through the comments and i saw some really horrible comments,i was thinking why are so many people against gay? so what if somebody is gay these two people love eachother,take care of eachother,and watch eachothers back like any other relationship they are people so why are gays given such a hard time? i dont see why the word gay is even around like they are people just with the same gender so how is it really that different from a boy and a girl ?????

l'm a lesbian l know how you feel.. my parents are okay with it, but l did have a girlfriend, l may never hold her hand.. never come inside.. they were cruel to me... and mean the whole time.. and when l wanted to tell my friends that she and l were dating she told me, that if l said it, she would break up with me... And things even worse than that. l have very much respect for you.. real love is very strong. we maybe had a different situation, but l don't have contact with her anymore and l loved her til death, but she just left me outside in the cold... Btw, not everyone adopts to your BIBLICAL WAY OF LIVING cuz not all of us are Christians. I'm a Buddhists and I am proud to be one because there's no discrimination and forceful rule in Buddhism. Love is love - doesn't matter if it's between the same or different sex. Love is about two persons caring and protecting one another. Get that fact right.

Gay relationships may seem weird to straight people, but the world is big and many other things also seem weird, does that meanings we should just erase everything that seem weird? Then why was the word "capacity" created?

My mom's partner also passed away, about 2 years ago. His family came to her flat and threatened her, they basically robbed her to pay for his funeral. They took his car and what not. It broke my heart when she told me and I felt so bad, but how should I have known? When the funeral took place, she was mentioned only one time(in the speech that was held) as his partner or something. I mean they have been together for I don"t really know how long, maybe like 10 to 14 years. And they mentioned her ONE FUCKING TIME. It broke my heart even more, it destroyed me I couldn't stop crying about his death and the unfairness my mother was facing. Humanity has an ugly face, I hope the majority of us are better than that, but I am not really sure. And when she told me more about him it depressed me even more. He was always so bitter and unfriendly like all the time. I was always asking myself why that is. My mother told me that he was I think even married to another woman, they even had a daughter like 2 years old or something. This other woman killed their daughter and committed suicide... This really depressed me, but I didn't show it to my mom. And two years ago he passed away after a long battle with heart issues. He was operated on several times, and it just seemed as if they were doing experiments on him and not doing anything to improve the situation. At the end he even had an artificial heart. I sensed that he wouldn't live any longer, but I tried staying positive... Last year also my grandmother passed away like 9 months ago or so, life is just a bitch, I am sorry for this emotional garbage, but I had to get it off of my chest somehow...

This literally makes me feel like my heart was ripped out of me. I cried almost whole video.

I had heard about this story, but to see it, to hear it tell by the one who lived this drama touched me deeply. I cried so much by watching this video that I could not see the image anymore, but just listen to his voice. I am aware that this story happened several years ago, but I am sure that even today the wounds are not all cured ... I can only wish you courage young man!

im only 13 and i can honestly say i support the LGBT community, People honestly make me mad with this stuff. Love is Love you can not force someone to love somebody or something; either they do or they dont. Everybody should have the right to legally marry who they want. without being threatened by society. I have no problem with any life style of living, way of loving, or religion. More people/parents need to realize you can't stop you child from loving someone. If they love someone they love someone its not in you jurisdiction to decide that for the. We're so worried about influencing kids but its your child's decision for that not yours. A child being homosexual doesn't mean they are different from the child you loved or raised. WE are so blinded by our ideals of what love is that we dont realize we're hurting people in the process. Nobody should ever have to go threw this.

Thank you for sharing your gut wrenching story Shane. My deepest condolences to you. You and Tom looked beautiful together. Im sorry Tom’s family were so heartless and brutal. I’m 36 and lost my first love in 2004 because my family wasn’t accepting at the time and because I hated myself. I hated being gay. I was homophobic and a victim of Catholic Church abuse. My situation burnt me and my first love to the point we could never be together again. In time we rekindled and depression has sadly got the better of him. He’s a shadow of his former self. I’m scared I’ll lose him to this. We were unable to be together because his depression is so bad. After 16 years I had to give up on any hope of us being together. He begged me to let him go 6 months ago. I felt a sense of peace in doing so. I’m still there for him as a friend and care deeply for him. I’ve since had 6 years of therapy where I’ve learned to love and accept myself. I found a new partner, who is amazing and embraces my hurtful past. He and my first BF are friends, and care about each other genuinely. I’m blessed to have two men who I love still connected to me. I hope and pray my ex finds happiness. Everyone needs to stop the anti gay rubbish. Sadly religion is the worst culprit. It’s deadly and harmful. Embrace love, and support one another. This world needs love, not division. Love to all who read this, and if you’re struggling, please never ever give up.

I am a Christian and I support same-sex couples. Please know that there ARE other Christians who do too. Tom looked like an absolutely wonderful person, I am truly, truly sorry for your loss. Words cannot describe what it must have been like for you two. Against all odds you stuck with each other. Love is a beautiful thing and comes in different ways. May Tom rest in peace

This is what makes me sick. Loving has nothing to do with God. Yes it may say it in the bible, but that was made before people even considered accepting homosexuals. Loving god, being Christian isn't about hating homosexuals. It's about doing the right thing. And saying rude messages and doing stuff that Tom's family did, that isn't Christ like. It's not being a human, it's not showing the basic human kindness.

I think with same sex relationships you have to flip reverse the feelings and understand what it would be like for yourself to be gay and get the hate that these people go through. dito (awe) this video is really emotional i feel bad he lost the love of his life ! wow my tears had came through out the video, lives matter but it shouldn't matter if people are gay or what ever ...for me i'm bisexual i was once scared to tell my mom but i told her eventually she was pretty in shocked but she got over it. i support men (boys)& women (girls) that are in love with the opposite gender.

I not an account emotional person but when I see this I can't stop crying and subbing its just shows how he really truly love tom:( so sad for Shane. they take all the right from him😭😭😭
