I'm a Giant & A's fan since 70's - it is a travesty how John Fisher has treated the team.
This was rad im glad Oakland and Giants fans united as one much love brodie from a San Francisco Giants fan here I support the A's fans and would hate lose the battle of bay
I was there in section 127, was amazing to see the giants fans join us in the chants. It was deafening, it was beautiful, it was heartwarming to see baseball come together to show that Fisher is an awful owner
I'm a Giants fan and the A's home is in Oakland. Sell the team, Fisher!
AMEN, Brodie and Stew! I'm a DIE-HARD San Francisco Giants' fan... and I am HORRIFIED at the prospect of the A's leaving. The Oakland fans DESERVE better. They don't deserve LOUSY owners and a LOUSY stadium. They DESERVED a great owner and a great ballpark. The people of Oakland and the East Bay have been beaten down by absolutely disgusting ownership. SELL THE TEAM. KEEP THE A"S IN OAKLAND. It's a win / win for the A's AND the Giants.

They will get a Great Stadium... IN VEGAS. Or they can enjoy a Great Stadium... in San Francisco. In Vegas they MIGHT even get a Great TEAM again instead of being a JOKE every year MINUS the "Moneyball" era that got them a BRIEF shot at success because they were the 1st team to use Data Analytics. Now everybody dos that and the A's SUCK AGAIN. The time for A's Fans the PRETEND they actually CARE was DECADES AGO.
THIS is awesome to watch
I actually teared up when you played the bit where everyone was cheering “sell the team” together. Bay Area people united!!
Thanx Giant Fans ‘Tonight We Unite!!!
Ridiculous to move the team if there is still a shot at building the howard terminal stadium.

Receiving taxpayer money in Vegas = SCAM. However, getting taxpayer money in Oakland = good, clean fun for the whole family. Also, without Oakland turning Howard Terminal into a Tax Increment Financing District (which they reneged on doing), there is no deal to be done in Oakland. Period.
If the A's are gone (and there are still a lot of "ifs" to clear for them to be gone), what are the chances that Joe Lacob, who has a standing offer to buy the A's, might apply for an expansion team in Oakland, take the Howard Terminal plans as is, or maybe a scaled-back plan which just builds a ballpark, and go from there? I don't know, but it seems like buying the A's and building at Howard Terminal might be the same amount of money as applying to MLB for an expansion team in Oakland if the A's move to LV, and also building the Howard Terminal ballpark. If the A's were about 80-90% there, how costly would it be to use the existing EIR for the HT plan, re-establish the BCDC approval to use that part of the port for a ballpark and perhaps housing/commercial development, and get this thing done?
Beautiful 😢 #SELLTHETEAM
That was great. Go Bay Area …. We are with you. Astros fans

Let's go fans,..., Keep it up, the Giants are in town next weekend, show up everyone, SELL THE TEAM, sell
I’ve never been to a game where the result on the field took second fiddle to something much bigger. This was such a win for the A’s fans. Regardless of what happens, A’s fans have proven it wasn’t them. And the whole A’s don’t have fans believers seem to be quieting down.

Outside of the vaunted Reverse Boycott, which got the Oakland Coliseum to 62% of capacity, the attendance this season has remained quite steady... Steadily behind Miami for last place in MLB. So Oakland has that going for it, which is nice.
Former Bay Area resident now in WA state. I went to Giants games to see my team, the Atlanta Braves. But if I was back home in the Bay, I’d be cheering for the A’s. My grandparents rooted for them the entire 37yrs they lived in Pleasanton. They’d be broken-hearted to see what’s going on.

So great to see! Growing up in the Bay Area, my dad was primarily a Giants' fan and took my brother and I to the Coliseum & Candlestick frequently. Our fandom gravitated to the A's to his chagrin but is a fun rivalry. Was at the Reverse Boycott game and wish I could have been there last night. Hope MLB (Manfred) is watching. Fisher doesn't deserve Vegas after his treatment of this team, fanbase & community. Unite the Bay / Stay in Oakland!
Respect to Giants fans, im shocked this happened when their ownerdhip been pushing the A's out the bay for years
This was really great seeing this. I’m a Dodger fan and I agree, Fisher needs to sell. Athletics belong in Oakland.

So they didn't belong in Philadelphia or Kansas City? Good to know.
Let's set-up this up for L.A. and Anaheim, we want the A's to stay in Oakland too.
I grew up w/ Mark McGwire , Jose Canseco, & Ricky Henderson as my baseball heroes. My local library awarded A's tics to kids that read enough books. We didn't have $ to spend on going to Bay Area so it was amazing. I'm now a thoroughly invested Giants fan & been fortunate enough to go to several games at Oracle the past 15 years or so. Didn't realize how emotional I'd be at the possibility of the Oakland Athletics leaving.
I’m a Giants fan who wants A’s to stay in Bay Area! I’m not a fan of Giants ownership for keeping A’s from San Jose if Oakland can’t work

I'm gonna take a momentary break from sh1tpost1ng to give you credit for calling out your own team's role in the A's probable relocation. It wouldn't be the first time something like this happened (e.g. the Orioles politicking against D.C. getting a baseball team, and the Deadskins politicking against Baltimore getting a football team).
great idea of california unity & respect
Brodie, I was surprised there was so much airtime on this for NBC Sports, I thought there was a tight connection between Fisher and NBC Sports, am I wrong about that? So NBC Sports can basically say what they want about the situation?

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this. Brazil and Casey Pratt have been on-air crying (at times, literally) about the Athletics' ownership for at least the past 6 to 12 months.
Who doesn't get goosebumps watching this! And this is coming from a diehard Tigers fan
Sell the team
Were. Still. Fucking. Here.
this bond between these fan bases started in 89. made history together then and doing it again in 2023. go giants and SELL THE TEAM!!!.
It will break my heart if the A's move even though I'm not an A's fan I've always liked my bay area teams
Hope everyone at Oracle tonight didn’t interrupt Manfred’s dinner. That Jackass.
Hey Giants fans. It was the A's who gave up their rights to the South Bay ( San Jose ) to save the Giants move. The favor was not returned at all. Its been used to force the A's out. The Giants are a huge reason the A's are packing elsewhere.
Tears in my eyes. I regret not going to last nights game. This move should be illegal, this is as Brodie said perfectly a “geographical rivalry.” I always love the Bay Bridge Series, and for the Bay Bridge Trophy. Fingers crossed that Fisher fails on his Vegas move, and the A’s stay in Oakland
Giants fans want the A's to stay, just like Yankees fans wanted the Dodgers to stay. But management, on the other hand, would like nothing better than to "unite the bay" around the Giants
Support from this Dodger fan. SELL THE TEAM!!!!!!
The owner of the As doesn't care about the fans about the stadium about the players . Haven't you guys seen the attempts multiple times of the owner asking las vegas if he can start building a stadium and they all said absolutely not

Neither the Giants nor the Athletics are desirous of such an outcome. This is baseball, not football. What you propose is not feasible, and those in charge know this, which is why you only hear a few fans mentioning it.
How awesome!
If by the end of the season of 2023 the owner wont accept to stay in Oakland he needs to leave and sell the team is absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing

Don't you understand? When Oaklanders are absent from A's games, that's a protest. Then when they do show up -- and only "pack" the Coliseum to 62% capacity -- that's also a protest (and a Very Successful Protest, too, don't you know?). It's a real "heads, I win; tails, you lose" scenario for Manfed and Fisher, which is why -- come Hades or high water -- the A's are gonna skip town as soon as that lease expires next year.
What a wonderful gesture by Giants fans and employees. Now if only the Giants would free up San Jose, all the problems would drift away.
@FlorioDerio-yy1yp
11 ай бұрын
Nice gesture? More like an empty gesture. The Giants ownership could've given up their rights to San Jose years ago, which would've ensured that the Athletics stayed in the Bay Area. (Instead the Giants and MLB went to federal court to keep the A's out of San Jose, at a time when a stadium deal there was probable.) But now? The die is cast. The A's are leaving. The Giants (along with a couple other MLB teams) will vote against relocation, and then put out a dejected press release about how they did all they could do. Spare me.
Golden Gate Fields for a ballpark!!! Hmmm, sounds good!!! But is a Golden Gate Fields ballpark actually physically and financially feasible??????????
LARPing is fun and all. But does any of this actually move the needle in terms of keeping the A's in the Bay Area? Doubtful. Because it doesn't address any of the underlying issues that have brought the team to this point. If something unforeseen occurs that nixes the Vegas deal, the A's will then turn their attention to Portland or SLC.
Why don’t the A’s play at Oracle Park? Seriously. Pay the Giants $40,000 a game. It’s a lot cheaper than a new ballpark.
@EricHeinze-uh9nn

It’s a bit of a headache getting to and from Oracle coming from the East Bay. Getting to the coliseum is much easier. I doubt I’d go to games at Oracle for that reason alone.
As a lifetime S.F. Giants fan…united fans chanting this was magic. Keep the A’s in Oakland! Sell the team ! Save the Bay Bridge series, it’s historic classic baseball!

Was Philadelphia Athletics baseball also "classic baseball"? Probably not, right? Too old to be considered "classic" nowadays.
@jamesf8269
11 ай бұрын
@@FlorioDerio-yy1yp Actually it is classic. The image of an elephant on the left sleeve of A’s jerseys is often met with confusion by outsiders. Of all the fit and fierce creatures in the animal kingdom, why is the selection to represent the “Athletics” organization a slow-moving mammoth? Turns out the elephant logo -- which dates back more than a century -- was partially inspired by Oakland’s rival across the Bay. The origin of the elephant dates back to 1902, when John McGraw held a news conference after he was set to leave his position as manager of the Baltimore Orioles to take on the same role with the New York Giants. A reporter asked McGraw about his thoughts on the Philadelphia A’s, who at the time had been making headlines as they bought up contracts of some of the top players in the National League, such as Hall of Fame pitcher Rube Waddell and outfielder Topsy Hartsel. Unenthused by the question, McGraw responded, “The Philadelphia club will make no money. They have a big white elephant on their hands.” That diss by McGraw got back to then-A’s owner Connie Mack, who was amused by the comment so much that he made a white elephant the team’s unofficial mascot as a sort of rallying cry. Three years later, when the A’s and Giants squared off in the 1905 World Series, Mack carried on the playful back and forth by presenting McGraw with a white elephant statue before Game 1.
