Ball produces high quality watches even for entry level models... Reward myself recently with Fireman, and I'm loving it... Looking forward for my next purchase, perhaps model with moon phase complication...

I had one of these a year or so ago and sold it and instantly regretted it. I bought the white one which should be here today. It'll be my second Ball. I'll hold onto this one.

Agree with the handset and bracelet center links. These are the reasons why I bought the Engineer II Endurance 1917 instead of the Engineer III Marvelight.

Ball are awesome, i too like the white dial and brought one with the Blued hands. I actually prefer it over the look of the Rolex.

Great video, thank you 🙂👍. Was going to school you on the hardness of 904L CRES, but oh no according to a few sites you are correct 316L is a little harder where 904L is more corrosion resistant. To me the hands do look a bit thin, especially when used with those wide (compared to DJ) hour markers. But oh Man it's a great looking watch, love the bracelet, and right or wrong I'm partial to a swiss movement. Good scoop, please wear it in good health.

Ball is definitely one if those sleeper brands, the kind of watch that most people haven't heard of but those that know.....know! & they do get a respectful nod within the community from pretty much everyone. This one is a little too shiny for my taste but then I do tend to gravitate more towards sports pieces rather than dress pieces, which is actually something that I need to adjust even if it's just to experience something like the Ball. 👍🍻😊

I love the RR on the secondhand. It makes it look so classy. When looking at the watch, it reminds me more of pocket watches than Rolex. It gets close enough to the Rolex where it has the same vibe and feeling. But it doesn't scream Rolex clone to me at all. It is that you mentioned it really.

I like it. Couple tweaks like you mentioned would be great but nice watch. 👌

I have to agree with you regarding those hands. They are a bit too dressy. I don't mind the crown at all. Still, what a nice looking watch. I have a similar model Ball and love it.

Until I recently handled some of the Ball Watches at a dealer, I was all in. The in person experience of the mechanics of the Watch movement left me holding off on a purchase. The setting of the date was sloppy. It didn’t seem to have a place it settled in under the cyclops. Not crisp. It was also difficult to find the crown push pull spots for setting date and time. Once I was able to adjust the time it too was like the date. It didn’t feel precision at all. Comparing to the feel of my Longines, Oris and Tudor watches. It felt much “cheaper.” Loved the lume. Loved the polish, design lines, style and dial finishes. Many don’t like the bracelet, I really like it. All three I handled just didn’t give me that “damn this is a quality watch” feeling. What I’m hoping is that this dealer, that had tape all over the display back and top crystal, which didn’t seem factory to me, had some displays that were mishandled, I dunno. They didn’t seem to care much about presentation of the display watches they had in the cases. I hope I can find another dealer and give Ball another look.

Love this brand, the feel, finish and quality of them is fantastic, I've been lucky enough to try a few on at an AD and would be proud to own one, this is a great Rolex alternative and kudos Dave on the content.

Put a Hirsch Robby Sailcloth Effect Waterproof Performance strap on it. I put an orange one on my orange enamel Engineer III, lovely. Agree the metal band could be better.

Hey JJ! That is crazy how expensive the bracelets can get! The Blancpain X71 is like $2500 from the dealer and about $1100-1700 on eBay and other sites but idk if I trust it lol. Glad to hear you take care of your watches too! They look a lot better not beat to hell imo lol 😅

@@DavidSchwartzjr Forgot to mention it was Rolex Datejust bracelet , I did see them cheaper on ebay but didn't trust them, I got mine from Theo & Harris... Great to work with highly recommend them 👍

The watch head itself is pretty cool, but the bracelet feels a little off, like it's too much. I kind of like the counterbalance logo. 😄 I didn't know 904 was softer than 316 stainless steel -- i thought with the higher number, it means better, but i guess I misunderstood. 😅

I totally agree, the bracelet could have benefited from a more traditional and simplistic design. I had always thought 904L was stronger too but a couple years ago I looked into Rolex a lot more and found that out. Its definitely a lot more shiny than the 316L so I can see why they use it. The tritium tube is crooked on the second hand. I had a Luminox Field with Tritium tubes. They start to fade after a couple years. When I sold it to my neighbor, you could just barely see the lume in pitch black surroundings. It wasn't even 5 years old. TBH I love the look of Indeglo analog dials. It's too bad it's only available on the cheapest of quartz watches.

Aww man, now I can't unsee it Kewrock, lol! I've heard of the tritium fading but that's too bad to hear about how much it had faded on the Luminox in less than five years. I agree about the Indiglo...if they could find a way to implement that into most watches that would be amazing haha! Cheers my friend! 😎👍🍻

Yea!!! I definitely think you should’ve compared it to Rolex!!! I think this is nicer. Honestly is there anything about the difference to justify paying 3 times the price for the Rolex??? I’m not really a Rolex fan and I sure can afford them. I just feel they’re unjustifiably greedy. Then, you see worse everywhere. Anyway, that BS aside, I think this is a gorgeous watch (a home run for BALL.). As far as the crown? I think it’s fine, (it matches the thickness of the case) but I do think it could be just a tad thinner, yea. The dauphine hands? Meh, I like them. I think they make it it’s own thing a bit and I like that. I also think it adds a dressy element to a very sport capable watch. Ball build their watches to take a punch, with the shock resistance, anti-magnetism and high quality stainless steel. So it’s already a very capable sport watch, I like that it has some little dressy notes that compliment it. I like that it’s a sports watch with a dress flare. (Like an Aston-Martin is to cars!) Right? A Sports car with a classy/luxury feel. (Who says you can’t look good whilst playing hard?) 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s pretty cool I think. Yea, though I think it could’ve gone either way and been fine. The RR counterbalance is just classy as well. Now the bracelet….🤦🏻‍♂️ it’s SO beautiful. Juuust beautiful, so gorgeously handsome. (But the center links?) they’re amazing looking sure! Polished and accent brushed? 🤤😍😋🥲. Unbelievable. But it’s going to drive me absolutely insane. I’m OCD about keeping my bracelets polished and brushed like they came out of the box. I’ll likely buy a second one and switch it out, also a leather band and just put the perfect one away for dress or going out. Wear the others more regularly. Anyway, that’s my takes on it. Obviously every guy is gonna think a little differently. Anyway, thank you for the review, I enjoyed it. 👍 and it helped me as I wanted to see this before I ordered mine. I like the hands. The bracelet is a bit much, but Ive grown to like it. If it had a more traditional design, it would just be labeled another non original rolex copy.

I remember when i got into watches my budget was 50€, then i settled on a 220€ green timex waterbury and then i was ready to spend 500€ for this engineer marvelight just to realize its 2500€ and now i am ready to spend 2500€😂 i started with 50€ budget😭
