A relatively large load - ASDA Delivery Driving
Van driving - Delivery driver - ASDA home delivery
THIS VIDEO IS NOT ENDORSED BY ASDA IN ANY WAY
I'm back, I've been very busy... that sounds like the last videos description... oh well!
Summer is here bringing warm weather once again, clear sky makes for a delightful drive however people are seemingly ordering more than the usual! Join me for one of my largest runs over the last few months, 16 rows full in the ambient van bay coming in at around 650kg.

I work at Tesco when it comes to Lightfoot and motorways our managers just told us to ignore it and put out foot down.
Been an ASDA Delivery Driver for around a month now, so far I'm enjoying it. Had some good days and some bad. Came across your videos when I applied to see what the job was like.
I work at Asda Minworth trust me mate back 16 is an easy day for us
I see you guys still have the old trolleys we have the new ones I remember how terrible the old ones were
Hello, love your vids. I recently started as a delivery driver down in the south. Never driven a van in my life so getting into a Asda one is definitely a massive adjustment. Love getting nice scenic routes but most of the time its just apartments haha.
Just joined as a driver for Asda, coming over from Sainsbury's after nearly 3 years. I'm enjoying it so far. Only gripe i have is when the handset doesn't tell you exactly how many trays you have 😂😂
Had 16 drops today, luckily was allowed to deliver early cuz of the football. Makes it more bearable not waiting for time slots. all customer loved i was very early... the 20 min rule is bullshit aha the blackbox thing too is shit, at this point idc if it gives me warnings and penalties... used to fuck me off, now i see how many i can get in a shift lol
Lightfoot is a rubbish system. the way that it wants you to accelerate you are a hazard to other drivers, i ignore it while getting up to speed on slip roads

Go steady!! Gets on my tits
didn't realise you also cover a wide distance at asda , i do Ocado and Morrisons , we cover 100 plus miles everyday , i feel your pain with the lightfoot box , such a annoying little box
Nice video. Do Asda still do the driving assessment when you apply and how strict are they with the lightfoot tracker?
we regularly see asda delivery vans in our area near aberystwyth. Based from Swansea 75 miles away

Seems like a standard route. We can have Upto 860kg at Tesco and have 60 ambient and that’s on a 5 hour run with 17 drops.

We used to have similar but our store changed it.. we used to have one run with around 700/800kg 6 hours long but now two runs between 2 and a half to three hours long each with around 13/14 drops and up to this 600kg.. so potential for 1200kg in one shift.
I work for Ocado and the Automatic Mercs make the job so much easier. However we don't have parking sensors and reverse camera, just wondering if Asda have these?

Yes the auto’s are great tbh I like the sprinter vans. Yes, ours have cameras on the sides and reverse however sometimes don’t always work but helpful when they do!
are the crates already in order or do you have to faff about finding the right ones every drop off?
@JackDelivers

They are ordered in terms of back middle and front with a number… however sometimes we have ‘XTRA’ totes that are not in order.
I'm considering applying for a driver position and was curious about how break entitlements work - is it the same entitlement as in store colleagues and do you have to take them at set times? Many thanks ❤

So yeah… entitled to the standard half hour break, depends how much you end up driving though however I know that at my store some runs you end up sitting waiting 15 minutes before you can deliver to the next address due to time slots so some times you end up having more than this. Usually you take your main break it when you come to the store to unload and reload the van or if you’re out all day it will be factored in to your run sheet.

We have a big area to cover and can have up2 26/28 drops in a shift on a split run 5 vans!! Thought they looked clean ours are hammered never stop lol.
This job looks an absolute breeze compared to Iceland. I do around 30-35 jobs in a 6 hour shift. With about 60 crates on each van load, reload every 2 hours. Lol

From what I’ve heard Iceland is more tricky than us definitely!
That seems like a standard run for Sainsburys. Haha

That's a standard 2hr run for iceland 😂
Is it easy to get overtime at Asda? Would that just be taking extra orders ? I have an interview for driver tommorrow !
@JackDelivers

I hope it went well! Overtime depends on your store, some times they need to cover holidays and driver sickness or you may be able to get extra hours helping out back preparing the vans for delivery or on click and collect.
Currently a Porter/Checkout Host at Asda and looking to be a delivery driver. What do they look for in experience? I've had my full car licence for 9 months now.

Asda require you to have held a full driving license for at least one year before you can apply to be a driver.
Do you remember what you did on your training before you was let lost to drive the van all by yourself?
@JackDelivers
19 күн бұрын
Yes so… I had 4 ‘buddy’ shifts, starting the first one just shadowing as a passenger, second one helping with loading and unloading and using the like PDA device, third was doing everything apart from driving and fourth was driving the van and doing everything whilst being watched before being signed off to drive on my own.
Nice video. Does Asda know about your videos?
@JackDelivers

Yes ASDA are aware of my videos, local management seem to enjoy them surprisingly and I’ve had no bad feedback from head office about them.

A store in the Midlands region, we deliver to towns such as Coalville, Lichfield and Ashby.
I used to be asda driver now I'm a postman
Top row is free, that's not a large load 😂 I've been full top to bottom.
Interviews and struggling to get work for class 2? Mate just go agency you'll get work when you want and no interviews
No camera in the van? Morrisons have cameras in cab watching you 24/7. And no u dont f it floor it, to hell with lightworks it averages your score anyway.
@JackDelivers

There is a camera in the cab built in to the mirror / reversing camera screen but I’ve never had any issues with it or even if anyone has ever watched me drive.
