Very nice, i prefer these smaller types of campervans

I'm from the U.S.: I really like the molded sink in the 1st campervan. I really like the red Davis campervan. I like the color scheme. I like the bunk beds. {Very practical! :)}. I like the fact that you can open the bathroom door even while the bunk bed ladder is in place.

The moulded sink is unusual but I note that Chausson have them too - although both companies belong to the same holding group - Trigano.

Nice van! I did like the sink too, easier to clean and any spills have more chance of going into the sink! At 1:56 always remember a stick of pipe insulation plugs that gap between the rear doors perfectly for insulating !! A big basin is useful if you can wash your hair in it too. I liked the 540, one of the best I've seen and a reasonable price too!! The 550 layout is interesting but seems to still end up with a small dinette as the only seating area. Using the extra high roof bodied van like on the 555 would be cheaper. The Ford 560 looks very good, liked that a lot apart from the wheels being too small.

@@muralikrishnan7622 I always found the cheapest vans were the Sevel ones, The Globescout Plus and Clever Tour 540 are around €40k new. Full standing headroom without some wretched pop-up to bend and leak in the wind is a big plus too :). For me the VW stuff are nice to look at but lack facilities and are overpriced tin tents :)

Interesting vans especially the 4x4 versions.....not outrageous prices either. 👍

Robert, I think part of being on KZread involves being hard. As far as RVs are concerned, then clearly part of it is jealousy and there are people who hate as a matter of course. However the hate here is nothing compared to the abuse I get from neo Nazis on my history site - including death threats.

I hope can sell that here in the Philippines. There are so many places to go to.

As a motorhome user, the regime is; shower at night and a hand wash down in the morning. Then while this is going on the other person is tidying up ready for breakfast. Simple!

I think the table and seat on entrance takes up to much space, they should move the shower bathroom up forward more , for more bedroom space I'm 6'3

Alan, first of all, great work! Out of your memory, do you know any 6,00 or 6,3 meters long campervan which garage is at least 1,8 meters long and at least 1,4 meters wide? I have watched most of your reviews but the garages seen either narrower or shorter. Thanks!

Flavio there are companies which manufacture special vans for bikes or horses - that might be the sort of thing you are looking for. However I cannot recall a single one being as little as 630cm long. @@VanlifewithAlan Thanks Alan! I want one to carry a racing go-kart plus all the equipment. It's a bit shorter than a bike, 140cm wide, but low in height (70cm). I realized that perhaps it would work better to simply get a campervan with dual rear beds and convert the lower one as a "garage". I found the WEINSBERG 630 MEG OUTLAW but it's brand new and I was looking into 2-4 year old campervans. By the way, perhaps it's a difficult question: what is in your opinion the "sweet spot" age for a used campervan? I mean, one that already got hit by a good depreciation but that still has the internal equipment fresh and trouble free? Keep up with the good work, cheers.

Love the last build. What is the model of the van? Any website to check for this model?

$64,494 in American dollars in case anyone interested in the cost for first van. Over $53,500 for second one. $49000 for third. Not sure what he said on fourth. Over $65,600 for fifth van. And sixthl van $59,000.

When you sneak in after midnight to do an excellent review meanwhile, the others were still sleeping and waiting for the opening at 8 Am!

There may be a problem with the paperwork as there are different vehicle standards in the US.

How many kms per litre? Diesel or fuel?

I was speaking to the MD of Trigano in Germany who told me that Karmann was popular in the UK, so I assumed that there were dealers. I presume any Trigano dealer would be able to assist.

Why are they producing 2020 vans, without sat nav and auto gear box !!

Nice van the dexter 540 but the toilet should be able to slide into the seat to get more space

Look at the malibu 540, does exactly that and has a far better finish inside.

These are nice but I'm a pop top camper person...much more practical and with roof down you can get through low headroom areas...don't think I'd spend £50k+ though...unless I win lottery ha ha

@@VanlifewithAlan Thank you for coming back to me so promptly. I found it amazing that most manufacturers of campervans, making absolutely no attempt to sell their products. You can buy second hand ones, but NO manufacturers makes it easy to buy these things new. They are expensive items and you would have thought they would make a better effort and easier to sell these things. I looked at many manufacturers, Toyota, Nissan and many others, NO such luck. You do not find any place that you can go and have a look and buy these things new. I find that remarkable, it is almost as if they are not really interested in selling these campervans! When and if you chat to MD of the company again, could you tell him than a website of the UK suppliers might be useful. IF they want to sell these campervans. Anyway, thanks again for your reply, I liked your video, it was quick and very informative. Thank you.

No dealers in the UK. You can contact Karmann Mobil in Germany. The more people do that the more likely they are to sell their campervans in the UK. You can also contact Geoff Cox Leisure in Derbyshire who are dealers for Eura Mobil who own Karmann Mobil and ask them to consider importing K.M.

So if 59000€ is relatively inexpensive what is the threshold for expensive?

Are these camper vans available in the United States.

The VAT depends on the rate which is set at national level in the EU. I don't know what Irish prices are, you would have to ask a dealer.

Alan, your videos are excellent - but who is your intended audience? Like you , I love the Dexter 550, but they're not available in the UK. You mostly review vans that are not available in the UK. Bit confused...

The boss of Trigano Germany told me that they were available in the UK, however yours is the second comment in a row writing the same thing! I suppose someone in the UK could buy one in Germany although of course it would be LHD!

@@VanlifewithAlan Fair enough Alan 👍 Gutted these vans are not available in the UK. The vans you review seem so much more classy and futuristic than the dreary UK versions. Lovely bright interiors as apposed to the mostly cheap "wood effect" interiors of the UK vans 😭

Question: do they run on solar..thats the only reason id rather build my own rig is that few companies that build RVs/Vans have a good solar system without being a to-big rig or to expensive for a normal budget. Also Lithium batteries don't like the AGMs. If any one know a good price RV/camper with it please name the brand / name.

I would get LiFePO4 rather than AGM - but extras you have to fix in yourself.

I don't get the cheap light coloured upholstery in many of these vehicles - - very high maintenance

All these vans keep you hooked on fossil fuel. You don't need a fridge nor gas burners. You can opt for hollogen or a cook pot. For single or couples you don't need four seats. Imagine the extra space hence why do your own fit is so popular

Forget about the bloody lights... It would have been nice to have seen storage under the bed... under the hobb too. I'm sure you mean well and you are a nice man... But you will obviously need practice at this!

4:20 ... why one needs an extra basin to brush one's teeth etc ... Alan starts off with, ... " I think the basin's used for other things, other than cleaning your teeth to start off with, uhm ...". .. Oh come OFF iT people. Really?! You're on the ROAD, camping, glamping, whatever. First off, I'd rather add a washing machine for when I get to spaces with water supply/inlets than the stupid dining seat. That way I wouldn't have to use the public laundries that I'm not so comfortable with, but that's a personal thing. The space could rather be used in far better ways. Driver & Passenger Seat will do fine to eat from. Just slip a table into the middle and you're fine with it. The basin however is silly. When you want two basins in a tiny, tiny van, I'd wonder why you bother being in a van in the first place. Use one basin that you keep well cleaned, as with all else and use the space for storage or better uses. Let's get real for goodness' sakes. Go on the road with a bus sized space if you want to have an actual "HOUSE" on the road. If you MUST however, then this badin that folds away will do, even though it's a tad large.

You should pay far more attention to your camera work. You move far too fast with the camera to actually show off the interior space. I would suggest you hire a videographer or just give it up because I find your imagery practically useless. To view the products you are trying to promote. A real waste of time.

@@VanlifewithAlan Sorry to come across as a shit head. Just a couple of suggestions for whatever there worth. Try to use the wide angle on your camera lens when you are inside as the space will give a larger field of view and seem to wrap around the body. Second, just slow your movements down as you pan through the space so that the eye has more time to focus and pay attention to what you’re trying to show us. You’ll figure it out, a little more practice and your imagery will look a lot more satisfying.

@@humanbeing9352 The wide angle is on maximum and judging from when it was filmed it was the Sony A6000 camera which I am no longer using. On the other hand, I could move slower which I am doing in more recent videos.
