    This just got recommended for me, I don't know why or how, but I'm grateful for it. Suicide has been a constant thought over the past few months of my life, the thought of just ending it all, one way or another, not because I was in pain or tired of living, not that I am not, but because I failed to find a reason to live for, a reason to why I and every other living thing on this planet exist. I searched for an answer but could not find it, I looked at others and could not understand, so I starter to think and think, and it led me here, to writing this comment. This video has given me what few things in life have done so, something quite strange but interesting nonetheless, hope, hope for things to get better, hope for me to continue whatever I am doing in life, and hope for others. And so I wanted to show my gratitude for this amazing film, which is truly a masterpiece I haven't seen anywhere else, and gratitude for you, for giving me this opportunity, even thought indirectly, still quite something. Thank you.

    My reason to live is to finish writing and to publish my science fiction novel, but I still have days when I feel depressed. This is not to say that you will not find your purpose eventually, but after reading your comment I will try to be more grateful for having my own purpose moving forward. I will try to be more appreciative and I will try to be more respectful of the fact that there are other people that are not as lucky as I have been when it comes to knowing what my purpose is.

    Having reasons not to die is not the same as having a reason to live. Its taken me years of struggle and pain both inside and out to realize that. If you don't have a reason to live you hold onto the reasons not to die until you can find one. Im still searching. Still hoping. Remember every hard day you go to sleep on, you wake up that much harder. You have the capacity, the will, and the time even if circumstances are showing you otherwise. I guess I just want to express my love for humanity. For every stranger reading this, good, bad, and ugly. I believe in your potential, if you can believe in yourself just as much i know you can overcome everything life throws at you. You are strong because you've known weakness, now use it to stand up after falling down.

I am well, and hope others become so as well. If anyone finds themselves despairing over who they are or where they are going to end up, I recommend a study of Buddhism and Taoism. The simplest way I know of is lectures by Alan Watts. There are numerous chillstep remixes over his lectures that can help break up the monotony of it xD

    @@deniz8265 I hope you find a way through this. I've been dealing with depression for the past year and a half and I find myself asking what it means to live and do right in life. I may not know what I'm talking about, but I personally think when you do, don't look for that reason in something temporary. The thing I've noticed in this life is that people look for happiness and meaning in things like wives and children. Now that stuff is good and love is certainly worth having in life, but the problem is people put too much stock into it and it ends up disappointing them to a certain degree. What I'm saying is, its good to have things that make you happy, but happiness is just a fleeting moment of emotion. Differentiate between happiness and meaning. That's what I'm trying to do. Cause if we're all imperfect, how can we possibly give one another that peace we're looking for?

    @@JDog2656 we're on the same boat man :') Just a few hours ago i was writing stuff down to get it off my chest. And i wrote about the meaningless of life, how i refuse to believe that the meaning of my life can be in another person, in "the one". I am trying to be comfortable being alone and by myself. I'm spending time with myself and getting to know myself. I think it's working out great. I had a dream last night where i was cutting my wrists and killing myself. It was the first time i dreamed of something like this. When i was about to die, i realized i didn't want to kill myself and tried to get help but i was too weak to get anywhere and just waited to die in regret. I don't know what it means but that regret i felt was so real i still cant shake it off. I dont even know why i'm telling you all this :p I just want you to know you are not alone.

  • @JDog2656

    @JDog2656

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@deniz8265 I appreciate you telling me and everyone else. Hard to say for certain what the dream means, but it sounds like it’s saying that death will not bring you salvation. I don’t think life is meaningless, but I don’t think the traditional notion of a “happy life” is a mindset worth clinging to. The problem that’s been racking my mind is how people perceive happiness, what they’re willing to do to get it, and the question of morality that’s just clawing at my mind. The standard usually comes down to get a job, get married, and have kids as if that’s all you need for life to be complete. Not that those things aren’t worth having, but it’s the imperfections that are the problem. People want it so bad that they’re willing to shut out the whole world and make their spouses and children they’re everything. As if these things that are about as perfect as you and me are the only thing that matters and they’re the only thing holding you together in this world. The problem is these things have the potential to go horribly wrong. Be it divorce, children growing up and turning out like the rest of us, or even death. People completely fall apart from that and the fear of losing that drives people to do terrible things that end up hurting a lot of people in the long run. I mean I guess it’s kind of extreme but I guess that’s why it’s depression LoL. Point is, it makes me sick and angry to think that people can be so selfish and just the moral ambiguity of it all. Family is important, but are you willing to burn down the world just so they can live? Or take out your frustrations on everything else? It’s not that I wouldn’t want someone to love or to be a father, but I don’t want to make those compromising choices or let that destroy who I am. I know it’s stupid, but that’s just one crappy thought swirling around.

    As an intelligent, logical person (engineer) I have always struggled to find meaning in life. Why do we go through the same old routine? Why do people start families? Why do we have kids and overpopulate this planet as the earth slowly dies beneath us? I often think it’s the ego of humanity that drives everything and I like to think of myself as a largely un egotistical person. So I go through the motions of life just waiting to die. Some days I want to die, others I don’t. But I never want to live, if that makes any sense. Sure love can give us a reason to live. But love is hard. And it’s messy. And it is much more work than any job or school or even survival is. And sometimes you never find love. Sometimes you choose not to, to protect yourself from the pain. Hope is a hard thing to grasp onto. Happiness comes in little spurts, and the closest thing I’ve found to purpose is chasing these brief fleeting moments of joy. I just wish I could find something to drive me.

Everything is meaningless, nothing is meaningless, that is the paradox of reality and it is us that make the meaning out of nothing, we make something out of meaninglessness and we must all cherish that because it blesses us with the greatest feeling of contentment. So many people our age are on the verge of suicide. So many people I know are on the verge of suicide. Many will make it through. Too many won't. It's frightening. If you want a reason to exist, take this video's message to heart. Find love for your fellow man. Find it through empathy of your own suffering. And use that as fuel to "become hope." Because it is only through you suffering, yet coming out stronger, that you can act as living proof that there is more to life than our present pain. You will act as hope not only to those around you, but most importantly, to yourself. Take in life before it passes you by. Happy 2022.

    Lately I have been thinking about ending my life and just disappearing from the world, because I was scared of the unknown future. The world and society puts a lot of pressure on so many of us to be a certain way, so when I found myself not reaching or exceeding those expectations, I was lost and scared of the unknown future. This is still a problem I have till this day, and I was also sick and tired of living with the toxic people I was living with but I found myself stuck in this and many other situations. When I saw this title, I was intrigued, and now I am so grateful for finding this in my recommended section. The main message it to have HOPE. Hope of having a better future, a better tomorrow. This also reminds me of X's song thats also called Hope, and just reminds me of how much he talked about suicide and staying happy, and I know he just wanted all his fans to find their purpose and to become leaders of their generations. Now I see that the reason to live was always there in front of me, but I just never took the time to analyze myself to find it.

    I just found your channel this morning... I'm so moved by your art. The way you transform these clips into something so powerful is amazing. The first video I saw was "Eternity looking down on us". I just watched the first season of True Detective a couple of weeks ago and the way Cohle talks and narrates the story is so captivating I had to force myself not to think about it when I was doing something else and couldn't focus on it. The way you used that... it touched a deep string inside me. I have yet to watch most of your videos, but I hope there will be more with long monologues like that, it is so much more powerful!!! Dude, you're going to blow up. Thanks for making me feel this extraordinary range of feelings.

    Thanks for making this. Ik there are people who are really suffering from the worst. I know I'm not one of them, I'm just in a tough spot waiting the chance to get out. But even I need a reminder to keep pushing on and to keep waiting and to not let despair take over. Maybe that's why we love movies of heroes and superheroes. Not just because it looks cool but because we get to see examples of people who have hope and have the strength to keeping going - and we want to replicate that too. Also, good job on making the cheesy Amazing Spiderman 2 speech feel more impactful.

Because of this, we all took a break to think about our lives and struggles... We question our reasons to exist, or if it's worth it. Or that if we ever find one... We all seek for encouragement.
