A really cool full circle moment for us

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

long story: back when Jordan was beginning his journey with horsemanship, he met Larry Stewart (who was a 4star parelli instructor/horseman) and spent a lot of time riding and learning from Larry.
Back 10plus years ago, they started a bunch of Larry's colts, and we are positive this gelding was one of them!!!
they spent a week at colt starting and each of the horses got first rides and then rode out around the ranch at Larry's.
Now, Leslie wants to ride this gelding ...so she brought him over to be started by Jordan ... Little did this gelding forget from training many years ago
How Cool is that!

The horse remembered how their partnership works. Trust, Empathy and Kindness. Beautiful to see and an amazing story. This is also why horses remember bad experiences and people too.

Haven’t been watching you but for a short time. What drew me to watch was the gentleness with wild foals! And the way Jordan just seems to connect with the foals and horses on your ranch. You can’t train with fear, you train with trust. This is a testament to a horses memory! They are very smart. I really enjoy your videos, and really love your horses! Take care. ❤️

When you teach natural horsemanship, they never forget. I think it might be because with the pressure/release method, they figure it out themselves and never forget it. 😍

I don’t know beans about horse training but I’m really impressed with Jordan not using a bit in the horse’s mouth. I didn’t even know that was possible! I’ve always thought mouth bits were kind of cruel. I love Jordan’s gentleness with these beautiful animals! 💕

I noticed when the horse tested Jordan bc I could see the surprise on his face when the horse did an extra trot type move. I wouldn’t have known anything was out of the norm except for Jordan’s reaction. I know next to nothing about horses but it’s Lovely to see an experienced rider working WITH a horse, so calm with the movements and encouraging with his voice and touches. It was like they were talking to each other ❤️

Yes... It is pretty common for a horse that has been not worked to be sent for a refresher.. reschooling really. Children's ponies in particular often need it because they can become pushy and poorly mannered and to get the basics

I u derstand that. But why start a good horse and then wait 10 years to round him out. Just seems like a lot of wasted years feeding and caring for a horse that's doing nothing but costing money. Because they are expensive.

@@barbrice721 I guess maybe life or injury or just having no one to the level to ride them maybe? If they have land and can afford care and feed then I guess maybe their choice. It sounds idyllic for the horse turned out in a herd with no stress! A lucky horse woth an owner with resources and cares about it Maybe a teen or grandkids has grown up and reach the horses weight now. It is expensive to keep horses but some people have land and stabbing and that does reduce it... Lucky them Lucky horse. It looks nice and calm

I disagree. Any horse can become amazing if their human is a good leader. If that horse is sold to a weak human they will learn they are higher. If sold again to a good and clear leader they will become the same good horse. It is never the horse's fault if they have issues..It is always the human's fault in not being clear and consistent. Your Husband is the same so the horse becomes as good as he once was. I don't think highly on the Pirellis+ Riding horses with pain compliance ie Bits Tie down, crops (which is how I was taught) is zero horsemenship.
