    She seems to be against bodybuilders and for the average person. - That can be good or bad depending on which side you’re on. Also it is rare for vegans to say anything healthy about meat. - So yes, she isn’t endorsing one diet, but she’s also not supporting a balanced diet of veggies, complex carbs and meat.

Ewening - chips + sweetened cereals + conservants + artificial colourings. What kind od healty diet that os? Maybe od you want to become a diabetic, this may be helpful. @@julitajaskolska4440I usually don’t reply to comments, but this! She’s eating a very healthy, balanced diet. Just because she’s a dietitian ( which has the word diet in it) doesn’t mean that she has to starve herself or cut out what you think of as “bad foods”. I hope you know that if you would not eat (carbs, sugar, etc.) it wouldn’t be considered very balanced. And yes! She is eating carbs, but along with healthy fats, protein, and a yummy snack at the end of the night. Sometimes not EVERY single thing you eat in EVERY day needs to be nutrient dense, some things are just soul nourishing.

    I do 3 heaping tablespoons of PB2 in my rolled oatmeal with soy milk in the morning. Best with blueberries, but I'll slice a banana in there if I need more calories. Tempeh crumbled and sautéed with onions and garlic in oil and soy sauce makes a great protein for lunch on toast or a homemade pizza at dinner.

And they are like eggs and heavy dairy and meat. But I can’t have anything like that in the morning or my stomach is upset right away. Oatmeal with peanut butter for protein is what I added instead of my previous Power Crunch bar morning addiction. It’s hard finding the balance between what my body tolerates and all the “do this and only this or you are doing it ALL WRONG” advice.

    Step one is to not eat anything shown in this video. Step two is to change your relationship with food, it’s not for comfort it’s for nutrition. Step three is to change how you view fats, particularly saturated fats… they are not the enemy, sugar is. Step four is to eat a high animal protein, low carb, moderate fat diet while making sure you’re not consuming too many calories. Quit all the sugary drinks if you drink any and drink a ton of water. You can add intermittent fasting and obviously exercise in there to get results faster. It really isn’t that complicated, the hardest part is step two.

    I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. If you follow updated (as in, from the 2020s, not the BS dietary suggestions from 1995) advice regarding how to eat well to promote metabolic health and healthy blood sugar levels, I think you may find that everything will kind of click into place. That's what worked for me after years of feeling like my body wasn't responding to "calories in, calories out" and other dietary changes I tried to make. You don't have to be keto to reap the benefits of primarily eating healthy fat and protein, which is satiating. And stable blood sugar levels MAJORLY cut down on cravings. The kind of diet I'm talking about is consistent with what the other commenter said, but I recommend reading about it to learn the "why".

    I would suggest to look for other ways to reward yourself other than food, like taking extra self care time and do something you're passionate about, just to gradually train your mind to let go of the food=reward mindset. It worked for me. Also, focusing more on healthy activities that I find enjoyable and make me feel well in general made me need "rewards" less, which is extra complicated with adhd.

  • @jalaaaah

    @jalaaaah

    there’s nothing inherently wrong with rewarding yourself a treat once in awhile, but focus more on a healthy balance. i try to remind myself that food is fuel & a way of connecting people together, so i shouldn’t look at it from a gluttonous pov.. like why am i overly rewarding myself with fast food when i know it’s not beneficial for my body and i could just go home which is saving me more money on gas & food? this rewards your wallet overtime & overall health vs. a temporary fix. so it’s like a game of, what reward is actually more fulfilling at the end of the day? practicing restraint, getting it another time & giving your body something cleaner or getting it & regretting it later? food addictions are hard to break but you just have to pray for strength & tell yourself you’re doing it for a greater reward. you got this! ❤️ and also, try to keep quick & easy healthy comforting meals at home that are just as good. boiled eggs, apples & peanut butter, non-fat greek yogurt w/ peanut butter, honey, apples & granola. trader joe’s meals. anjinomoto yakisoba from costco taste like a quick lo mein. i sometimes throw in tyson’s sweet grilled teriyaki chicken for more protein & green onions, or i add some frozen asian veggies to get more portions. whole wheat grilled cheese w/ tomato soup. these are still ultimately healthier than most fast food options & you just have to learn to work the items into your grocery list. the other day, i was craving taco bell. i had trader joe’s mini chicken tacos, air fried them, covered them in cheese & poured cholula over them, threw a lil rice in the rice cooker with a bay leaf (cilantro & lime would be great too) made a simple black bean soup using water, canned low sodium black beans, salt, pepper, seasoning salt, onion powder, knorr chicken bouillon. i added little rice to my bowl of soup, topped it with the non-fat greek yogurt as sour cream. dipped the tacos in it.. it was better than taco bell 😅

    I struggled all my life with not only viewing food as a reward, but also as comfort. Like oh, I had a hard day, all I want to do is eat to feel better. A year ago I started seeing a nutricionist, and apart from losing fat, I’ve been “restructuring” my relationship with food. How? Well, separating food from life, and viewing food as a supporting character in my life, not the main. Did I have a long day? Hard day? Fabulous day? It really doesn’t matter. I’m still having the same smoothie I always have when I get home. It’s not a change that happens overnight, but you can definitely readjust those kinds of behaviors without feeling you’re on a diet or restricting yourself.

    Meg maybe you can first decide to only reward yourself with homemade food items? I cook almost every meal for myself and it has become a nice hobby…a small change like that helped me repurpose the meaning of food…now the preparing of it is as fun as eating it.
