As an american citizen, I feel completely abandoned by my own country, I've considered adopting a new identity, and illegally coming in through the southern border, because you now get your housing subsidized, your food subsidized, no tax burden, and thousands of dollar of spending money for free each week, and now the president is floating amnesty, and encouraging corporations to hire illegal workers, so instead of protecting workers, democrats are openly subverting teh american worker to lower wages, and put us out of work while inflating the currency! "Over inflating" your assets isn't ilegal. The bank application for the loan asks the property owner for "their perceived" value for the property. After which, the banks send out their own appraisers to estimate the value..... in conclusion. NO FRAUD

What Trump did was the exact same thing anyone that's taken out a home equity loan on their home has done. When you apply for an equity or collateral loan on real property, the bank asks what your property is worth and how much you want to borrow against it. The bank then does their due diligence and appraises the collateral property themselves. And to counter the often misinformed counterargument to these facts, no, tax assessed value of a property by the government property taxing authorities is not the same thing as the market value of a property. I.e. my home is worth $350k if I were to sell it today or wanted to apply for a home equity loan, but the tax assessed value of my home for the property taxes I pay my local county, is just $180k. If I did apply for a home equity loan, the bank would ask me what my home is worth. I would look on Zillow and give them that figure($350k). Even if I told them I thought it was worth $450k, I am not committing fraud because the bank is going to counter my valuation with what their appraisal shows the market value to actually be.
