Fun Fact: They trademarked Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, and Omniverse all during the original run. So the reason why rhe Ultimates were so underutilized is because they quite literally started with the name and worked backwards.

The ults could have been better if handled as a jeckle and hyde situation - ben is scared of using them but eventually realises that he can use their power, getting more and more comfortable until eventually he over uses them, have an epispde where his over use causes him to hurt people and not care until its revealed theyre wittling away at his mind trying to escape- kevin tries to fix it and accidentally sets them free; they redo the capture plotline but it goes wrong and then the plot of being in the ultimatrix happebs

Ben gets ulttrix Ben uses ults to beat an enemy Ben is scared because hes more agressive Ben starts relying on them to finish fights, making him less skilled with non ults Ben only uses ults and severly hurts an innocent Ben wants the ults gone from the watch, kevin tries to delete them but they get set free Two parter about 1. Finding them like with the lose aliens against vilgax in af, 2. They all gang up on ben and then the plot of the inside ultimatrix episode happens Ults thank ben for his sacrifice but still hate him for using them like tools and wish to never see him again (they treat him and abledo as same person) Azmuth refuses to remove the ultimate feature, but instead corrects the personality error, and now the ultimates eyes are always green (they should be yellow pre this arc and red for the nat ults)

I think most people can honestly agree with this, the ultimates had a sort of set up that something sinister going on when using the ultimate ability that freaked Ben out but they end up dropping it entirely with them seemingly having no clue as to what to do with these ultimates. They'll have Ben just randomly go ultimate on low tier threats that don't need Ben to go to the extreme. It's especially the case with Big chill for some reason like Volcanus henchman or some of the random cult members that worshipped Dagon (I think they're called The Flame from what I remember). Then I guess they sort of went back to something wrong with the Ultimates in that episode of freeing them, but honestly it just felt awkward and random since they literally dropped the idea for awhile just to randomly bring a conclusion to a thrown away story plot.

I really like ultimate waybig though he is simple , faster , bigger and he can fly now (yes he flew you can understand by his fist , his landing on dagon and the ground that didnt shake and fall apart) He also doesnt need to cross his arms to fire cosmic rays and his cosmic rays are not just powerfull energys anymore they can be forces like blades and cut through instead of just being a destructive energy .

Ben says he's scared to use them really early in UA and it's never explained why or brought up again. Like the reveal that they're alive doesn't come until WAY later, so Ben is just scared of turning into them just because. Why even have the concept of Ultimate Aliens when you have barely any, barely use them, and change practically nothing about them "Wow Waybig got bigger and Wildmutt can talk, SUCH AN IMPROVEMENT!!!!!!"

Echo echo and swampfire were good, they felt like logical evolutions.

If i was designing Ultimate Bigchill i would have made him look like a big beefy moth, kinda like OV Bigchill and i would probably make him unavailable to fly as much as he used to because hes too big

I wish AF and UA got it’s animated films

as a fan of Ultimate Alien, i can't deny that the Ultimates themselves were done poorly, Alien Force and to an extend, the first episode of Ultimate Alien were hyping them up as being big deals, but sadly they didn't even have any real important scene, the only one you can really say it's important is Ultimate Echo Echo beating Ultimate Kevin, that's it, he doesn't use the Ultimate to reunite a planet, he doesn't use them to show resepct, he doesn't use them for any important scene, they felt like an afterthought

I think that’s the point and that it’s not just the aliens that go ultimate it’s the storytelling and the other characters.

I think the point was that it was a bait and Switch, but I normally don’t like that kind of thing

4:28 it explained that its just a armor that humangosaurs species wear . Bu djw i cant take him as a reliable source on matters with writing but he is the one who creates the art so i can see him making this .

if you watched the episode properly, you'd see that azmuth fixes the issue with the ultimatrix that was causing the ultimate to become sentient. that's why he continues to use them afterward

To be honest I actually see Albedo keeping the Ultimatrix and the Ultimates being his thing, while ben brought back original(ghostfreak taughting the ultimates was an awesome reference) and new aliens(like NRG vs U.Swampfire) to fight him each time they shown up. But I'm fine with what we have cause Omniverse decided to this idea with Albedo anyway. The reason why they had same basic shape in design is because it was easier for toy production/costs which was going down this point, I didn't get a single Ultimate form during the release of its line but did get the newbies like Andromeda aliens. But you got to love the premense of this idea tracing back to transformations in other fiction like Super Saiyan, or Burning Godzilla. So much that the idea of Ultimates being evolved forms "Inspired" pokemon Gen 6 with their mega evolutions Ultimate Alien(2010) while Gen 6(2013).

The ultimate Gravattack from Ben 10 Omniverse should be able to use advanced manipulation of spacetime fabric of the universe such as creating wormholes, bend light, slow down time, change properties of gravity.

Big chills Ultimate gets alot of leeway because of his cool quotes but that literally all he has, he has a much worse design than his original that didn't fit Big chills characteristics at all. Then the fact I can't remember him actually fighting or doing something significant nor cool. He's like Bens go to Ultimate just to fight low tier henchmen that regular Big chill or most other aliens can deal with. The Ink Tank just actually understands what a Big chill Ultimate is and has to be. But this might just be me being a mad Big chill fan that his Ultimate design didn't do one of my favourite aliens justice

I mean, when i first watched this show back when it was released, I was pretty awe-struck on the ult aliens but now when i want to get that nostalgia, its just disappointing how the aliens turned out. I think there was a hell lot of potential in this series and this series couldve topped on the Cartoon Network charts. Well i mean, we cant change the past, so why worry for it?

I agree that Echo Echo, Swampfire, and Humongousaurs ultimates are pretty good although Huongousaur in my opinion is the worst of these 3 and Swampfire my personal favorite all the others are lame. Cannonbolt just grows flat spikes. Big Chill is just a fire skin. Wildmutt is... I don't want to talk about that ultimate and Way Big is meh he just gets bigger and has different colors and then Spider Monkey is and I quote "Just a big fat purple gorilla, on stilts" I rest my case your honor.
