A Ranger tells us about his Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque.

For a couple of years it was possible to record an interview with a park ranger. The Ranger I spoke to was great on camera and off the cuff with no 2nd takes told me everything we need to know about this park and it multiple locations.
today a special filming permit would be required to shoot such an interview.

A compelling national park. I hope to see it one day. Thank you for the video.

We were there last year and found the park to be very poorly marked, we never found the visitors center. We did find on pethroglyph area with a poor trail up a hillside. No signage and bad parking. Their website said pets were allowed but we were told no pets on arrival. So my opinion, half baked newish monument with some potentially excellent petroglyphs. Need better trails, we did hike up to the top of the cinder cone.

So why is he wearing a mask? He was very informative however. Thanks for sharing.

thanks for the comment. Several possible answers- NM has a loony Governor who was one of the last to remove restrictions. Also, Rangers meet a lot of people and they want to protect themselves - Covid is still floating around. I know 2 people who got it last week.
