Facts don’t care about your feelings and if you want to argue with me I suggest you go look through some definitions that define male/female and man/woman. The definitions of those specifically state each other. I’ll take female for example; Female: of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) that can be fertilized by male gametes. Woman: an adult female human being. Like I said facts don’t care about feelings and honesty I don’t either. Hope you’ll eventually stop feeding into this nonsense.

You can cry your dumb and unneducated ass how you want, it won't make sex and gender the same thing. You know, it won't hurt to get our of your stone age mentality. Male/female is the sex, man/woman is the gender. Two different things. And the definitions your talk about describe cisgender people, not all humans. This thins was already debated many times bud. Now, you need to change the "woman" to CIS woman* there. Is disgusting to reduce women to organs. Firstly because gender isn't biological, and secondly because this means you see women as less than humans and individuals. Educate yourself before dehumanizing others. Not all males are men, and not all men are males. Exactly how not all females are women, and not all women are females. You cis people love to push your own identity on others. 😂

Not for all cases and its not an elective procedure. You only do the preventative surgery for high risk cases - BRCA mutations for breast cancer or certain types of cancers, yes you would preventatively have bilateral mastectomies. If there is no indication of being high-risk, then they won't do the surgery no matter how much you beg for it (because there is a risk for the surgeon getting sued by you later and then losing the case since the surgery was not indicated in the first place).

  • @jillbecker9535

@@hira6560 however this case would be considered high risk case and a lot of times, and children of this particular age the cancer is considered high risk, because there is for reoccurring cancers Kids cancer has the highest chance of reoccurring and now doctors are beginning to say it’s better to be careful and remove all tissues like performing complete hysterectomies instead of removing just the cervix, because the rate of further surgeries needed is so traumatizing for these children, then just getting one surgery… If we know there’s a 70% chance they’re going to need further surgeries in the future and we know that there is a 90% chance that future surgeries are going to be traumatizing for child and family… many doctors are electing to perform major surgery and save the child and family the strain of smaller multiple surgeries. The opposite used to be true in the 80s and 90s but now, considering that we know a lot more about wound healing and the psychology of healing in general, we feel that the opposite is true that one well done surgery with proper medication and healing is much more effective than multiple small surgeries done over a long period of time The truth is we just no more now than we did 20 or 30 years ago😅 We have a lot of cancer in my family and I gave 8 aunts on my dads side and they all have 4 kids… and those kids are all having kids now and the first round of grandkids is getting cancer 😢 It fucking sucks but we are learning a lot

In mastectomy or surgeries to remove the uterus/ovaries for cancer reasons women are given the choice of removing both breasts or both ovaries and uterus as a preventative measure. If this child wasn't trans removing both testes as a preventative measure would be a discussion between the parents, child, and doctors about if this is the right move for the child and no one would bat an eyelash about them removing both.

I had to have a hysterectomy due to cyst and a high risk of cervical cancer because my mom had it and it was genetic. and my grandmother had breast cancer. so female cancer ran high in my family. my ob new I did at one point want a bunch of kids but only had 2. when I got my tunes clampped she asked me all the way up until she actually clamped them. she said because she new how much I wanted kids that me deciding to not want anymore she wanted to make sure it wasn't my hormones from having a hard c section. but I told her due to all the cancer in ym family then my mom getting cervical and then her passing away from it I wanted it taken out plus the cyst kept coming back and getting bigger an bigger again. I had 1 bust before when I was 15. I was sick for days. I didn't want to go threw that again. if I had to have my breast removed I would but it would hurt me. I would feel less of a woman. but thankfully I have kids so i wouldn't need them to feed my babies. it would be more of feeling like I was still less then because of not having breast. This kid wants to have sex changing surgery when he turns 18. so him doing it now because of the cancer shouldn't be to bad. and atleast when he is older and if he decided to go back to being a male like alit if adults do of they do it when they are kids it will be easier on him because he did it to save his life.

Same goes for breast cancer, my neighbor had breast cancer in her right breast and her doctors recommended a double mastectomy because of the risk of the cancer spreading. I haven’t seen this episode, but it seems like they’d wanna biopsy the other testicle to confirm that there was or wasn’t cancer or precancer cells found to determine the risk of spread. Normalize stating the truth! The person with autism who appears transphobic is actually the most thoughtful and kind person in the room who has taken all the facts into account - including analyzing the young trans person earlier in the show to determine *why* they felt like a girl and considering whether they found this to be valid. This is why he offers removal of both testicles because he was one of the only people to actually *talk* to the child like a human being. Further, she was on hormone blockers which are already causing osteopenia- children this young really shouldn’t be being put on elective medications that can have such a drastic impact on their health without careful and considerate medical care that is unbiased and all-encompassing, a place we are simply not at as a society right now sadly. It is inhumane and cruel to castrate a young child. No matter how much she wanted the surgery, she was way too young to fully consent to it. It’s an irreversible procedure that she’d have to live with for the rest of her life even if later on she changes her mind about being a girl.

Wow. A LOT of non-cancer survivors/patients in this comments section getting pretty judg-y about people having preventative removal. As someone who has faced that choice, losing my ability to reproduce to try and avoid recurrence of my ovarian cancer, I’d like to politely ask them to BACK OFF. You have NO idea how that decision feels, what it can cost you emotionally. I know that’s not what this clip is primarily about, but a lot of comments have seized on that. I also agree with people pointing out that preventative removal is normal and if this kid wasn’t trans, it would be completely normal for them to prevent that as an option for this kid and her parents. Imo, the normal options are 1) no surgery, 2) removal of only the affected non-vital organ, 3) the removal of both non-vital organs to help prevent recurrence And yes, OBVIOUSLY the rules are different for vital organs like lungs or kidneys. You don’t need testes, ovaries, breasts to live. Comparing these preventative removals to removing vital organs is idiotic and a false comparison.

That way she would go through a female puberty and an Adam’s apple and the like would never form but it would still give her time to change her mind until much closer to adulthood as unlikely as changing her mind at this point would be.

This is insanity. These CHILDREN do need help, I don't disagree, but it's mental help. They need to understand that EVERYONE going through puberty has questions that they don't know how to answer. This is the human truth. We all figure it out, though. They need parenting and a REALISTIC explanation of how life occurs. Life is HARD and we will often feel out of our understanding. When we reward 'victimization' and don't hold people accountable with natural consequences (i.e. you didn't take the trash out to the curb, so you will take the trash to the curb before you go to school and bring it back to the house after school every day for a week). You don't have to beat your children to teach them consequences. You do have a RESPONSIBILITY to teach them how to survive, thrive, and be successful.

Y’all need to shut up. Frankly I believe I can be a very nice person but this episode of a dramatized medical show from 2013 has been clipped to death because it showcases a minor having to undergo a surgery and be taken off puberty blockers since she is a transgender female. The main doctor by the end of the episode comes to understand and realize that this transgender patient is valid. The doctors go with the parents decision and only remove one for sake of the kids future even though she is adamant that she wants both removed because as she stated she plans on having full bottom surgery at 18 anyways. It is understandable why she would be scared because she voices her worries about growing body hair and having an Adam’s Apple and generally being perceived as a boy which she doesn’t want and doesn’t have a right to want. The doctors did the best they could with the restraints they had which included letting her down, it’s not her fault or their fault or the parents or hell even the grandma’s fault. It’s a tough situation that is so rare I doubt anyone who reads this egregiously long and angry comment will have had someone go through it in their personal life. If you don’t have someone in your close life who experiences being trans you shouldn’t have a say in how “Gender Affirming Care is castration!” Or “These above the board, certified medical professionals don’t know what they’re doing!” Only the professionals and people with personal experience get a say. And hey if you have that and are still against it, fine, I don’t care but know that things like this help people and especially minors. They aren’t getting hormones at least not in the way you think of them and they certainly aren’t getting gender affirming surgery as you can see from what happens at the end of the episode. Shut up about this stupid episode, let trans people get the healthcare they need or so help me god. TL:DR; People don’t understand trans people or this episode fully, they misinterpret it and are hateful and it makes me sick. Thank you.

Considering how expensive the surgery, the continuous medical treatment, and the continued hormonal treatment, I doubt they will be very wealthy. I love him for this. He was completely validating all of her concerns. So many people treat trans people like walking diseases. I love that he acknowledged her and her concerns and even offered alternatives. Taking away both testicles would have reduced the possibility of her getting cancer in the other testicle. I'm surprised that at the end of the episode they denied that request because the autistic doctor had a fair point. It would reduce the chance for cancer in the second half. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It's sad that the doctor respected the girls wishes and concerns more than her own family. But hey, that's why when you turn 18 it's completely acceptable to walk away from your family and never speak to them again. I learned we don't always belong to the families we are born into. Some people see their children as an extension of themselves, and expect their children to meet standards and expectations. These same parents view their children as accessories. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I will say, the grandma had a point about the possibilities of her having her own biological child. But if the girl doesn't want children, don't project what you want on them anyway. 💀 I would choose to respect my child's choice as long as it wasn't harming them. Keeping that one testicle put her at risk of cancer again. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@@Alticroo the majority of doctors and scientists both agree that gender dysphoria exists all in the same as body dysmorphia. It's people like you who present no evidence to counter the existence of said condition. I'd listen to healthcare professionals and Nuero-Psychologists before I would ever listen to some transphobic troll in the comments making claims without any scientific reasoning or factual basis. 😂 You cannot expect the world to hate trans people the way that y'all do. It's just absurd and unethical especially when over 90% of the worlds doctors all simultaneously agree on the same thing. These studies were conducted way back into the early 1900's in Germany. Then in France, then Poland, then the United States when polish and German scientists and doctors began immigration towards the West. And what's insane to me is that their religion would make you think they'd hate trans people or want to disprove that gender dysphoria is even a thing but the opposite happened. Those studies and those brain and chemical evaluations are why trans people are validated by Medical communities today. 💁🏻‍♀️ There a thesis that claims that trans people are the result of chemical imbalances during pregnancy. When a woman has a chemical imbalance during pregnancy and isn't supplied with the proper prenatals, that child that is born is also prone to have said chemical and hormonal imbalances. I know you have a small brain so let me explain what that means. If the mommy was lacking hormones like testosterone during pregnancy, after pregnancy a male or female child would also be lacking testosterone levels. Now we all know testosterone and estrogen are two dominant hormones that can make someone either feminine or masculine. If a male child was lacking testosterone they are prone to be more feminine. If this goes undiagnosed for years during early childhood brain development that means the child is prone to develop mentally more feminine than masculine. They may present more feminine or exhibit feminine qualities. Like breast tissue, or no facial hair, higher voice etc. That's highly plausible. And there is studies conducted by highly esteemed universities and scientists all across the WORLD.
