Whenever I make a quilt for a new baby I always make a bag for the mom, you could think of it as fancy wrapping paper for the quilt. Sometimes I use leftover fabric & sometimes I will use fabrics in the moms favorite colors. The bags are a great place to practice FMQ too. I have an enormous family so somebody is either getting married, welcoming a new baby... The gals are always so excited to see what new pattern I have made. I have learned so much from both of You ladies and I really appreciate the work You put into creating all of these videos. You make learning a new pattern/technique so much fun & you are so inspiring! Thank You :)
I love it when crafty people support each other! And we women need to do this more❤️

That strap turning trick is life changing!
I don't know how you resisted adding quilting to those bag panels! I think I won't resist. LOVE this collaboration. I've been watching Vanessa for quite awhile, too!
I have been a sewer for over 50 yrs. I started hand sewing Barbie doll clothes. Back in the 60's the clothes cost more than the dolls (almost) so I made my own then we would hold fashion shows with them. This led to making my own clothes. Now I make bags, quilts, and do the occasional hem job on my husband's pants. My mom was my inspiration as she took in tailoring jobs & made clothes from scratch for customers. I once wore an outfit to the store & a woman stopped me to ask where I got it. When she found out I made it she asked me to make her one. She was shocked when I told her the cost. Some people do not understand how expensive fabric has gotten. I didn't even add my time to the quote. Anyway, this bag is perfect. Great job!

I know! I used to sew clothes for my kids when they were little, in the 80's. My son liked those 'jam' pants, which were like sweatpants, but made out of cotton prints. I made all sorts of play clothes out of scrap fabrics my mother brought me from the Woolrich place in Pennsylvania. Once it had silky stuff in two shades of pink, and that was an I Dream of Jeannie costume for Halloween. MOstly it was stretch material and I made sweatshirts and sweat pants for weekend sitting in mud and stuff. I made some of my own clothes, but not it is very expensive for fabric. I do quilt though. I love your story!

@@palominogirl2732 And I love your story. I forgot about Woolrich stores. We had Coronet stores with cheap fabric & craft supplies. Loved when they had clearances. I just found an embroidery panel I bought there 40 yrs ago thats still current today. I lucked out some yrs ago to stumble on a design studio that was getting rid of their old swatch books so I took them all. I got wools, cottons, linens, decorator & silk panels. I'm in fabric heaven. The possibilities. Enjoy your crafting time & make lots of pretty things.
I love how you just have fun sewing and don't take it too seriously. I have a problem with perfection. Love the tutorials!
When boxing my corners, I cut out a 2” x 2” (or whatever size you want) notch in the bottom corners. It makes it so much easier to line up your seams. Then I sew a zigzag stitch along the raw edge to finish it off.
I have been following Vanessa for years I learned a lot of things from her channel, then I found u this year and love your quilts and fun personality! I’m so glad you guys did a collab!
Don't forget to stitch the lining bag closed either by hand if you want reversible bag or machine. Fun project for sure.
I love your trick for turning the handles. I wish I had known that years ago!
Angela, this is an awesome challenge between you & Crafty Gemini! It’s a great stash-buster too! Hope you do more of these “quick-quilting” tutorials. Thx for the fashion show! This was an extra funny entertaining video!
That inside out strap strip trick is awesome! I wish I had known about this a long time ago. Thank you
I've been following both of you for quite a while! This is a fun idea!
Love that tip on using that small strip to turn the strap! I wish I knew that when I made all those totes for my family. I learned how to put a zipper on my bag from The Crafty Gemini (as well as a lot of other things). Seeing my two favorite KZread ladies doing something together is fabulous.
I've just made this bag (my first ever!) in Aboriginal printed fabrics. I love it and can't wait to show it off. Thanks, Angela (and Crafty Gemini!)

Vanessa and Jenny Doan taught me how to quilt and sew, when I started 6 years ago. I have also been following you for the last several years. I have to thank the 3 of you for teaching me sewing, quilting and now with your fm challenges, I am able to finish all my quilt tops. Thank you
the fabric choices were so perfect especially with that red petals popping out! & I love the black /white edged rims!
I love how this bag pattern came together. Great job. I also enjoy watching the crafty Gemini sewing projects. 👍😀
Girl, you are awesome. Always making the tutorials fun to watch and learn. Love you to peices Angela.
LOVE Love LOVE this! Great teacher, great sense of humor and love you and Crafty Gemini. Dynamic Duo❣️ woot woot!
Looks great and what a perfect way to use up those pieces from other projects.
That tip for turning out the strap is genius!
What a cute Tote!!! Thanks, can’t wait to try this! Love all your videos! ❤️
Super cute! Love the design! Great work, Angela!
Hi Angela! I enjoy your videos, and I think it is great that you teamed up with also talented and fun Vanessa for this video challenge. Thanks to both of you for walking us through this pattern.
Angela, you are awesome! You know, you could have quilted on the bag....I was waiting for you to do that, but it turned out beautifully, just like usual👏👏👏
Angela that was really so adorable. Your bag turned out so beautiful. Somebody commented on turning it into a reversible bag. I too made two reversible tote bags and it gives great satisfaction seeing the bag one creates. Thanks for the tutorial.
Isn’t Vanessa darling?!!! I’ve been following her since 2012. She helped me learn how to sew! You helped me learn how to quilt! I’m so excited to see a collaboration between you two! 💐

I make bags and follow Vanessa for years now. I don't quilt. I am going to try to do this because you make this look like a lot of FUN! Thank you!
You inspired me to give the bag a go. My daughter wanted a neutral bag. I added pockets inside. Thanks for being awesome and such an inspiration to us who have never tried quilting 😁😁😁
My hubby and I watch your "Midnight Quilt Show" all the time. We love it Angela, and love you!! Thanks for breaking down the execution of making quilt patterns and having fun doing it. Vicki Robles
You are a pleasure to watch!!! I really enjoyed the bag instructions and now won't be so challenged!!!
I love Vanessa, and I enjoyed watching you make this bag from her fabrics!! It's super fun, and I would love to try it out!
I came from Vanessa’s channel, I love her sweet little family and their farm. I’ve been following her channel since they first went to look at their place. I’ve learned lots of things from her. And yes this is my first time watching your channel. Thanks for sharing this.
LOVE LOVE this bag with Vanessa's Dominicana fabric and her Black and White fabric line too! Colors are Awesome together. Thanks, Angela ;-)
What a great idea!!! U two are both great. Honored to learn from you and happy u 2 partnered together for this :-) Thanks so much!
Beautiful bag. Lovely fabrics.
The bag is goregous! And Vanessa is awesome😊 She's an exellent teacher and explains projects in great detail (just like you😉) I can't wait to try making this bag. Thanks for sharing!
I've made this bag 4 times and I lost the pattern....so whew, glad this was here! (I machine quilted the outer panels - makes it nicer.) The pattern doesn't seem to be free on "craftsy" as far as I can tell, but I got the main info from the video. Thanks!
Angela is definitely my favourite fabric tutorial teacher!
Loved your Tote design Angela😊 Thanks so much for the Free pattern...
I've made three of these bags and they are awesome! Two were gifts and were a big hit! I'm always looking for new sewing projects. Thank you for sharing!
Saw the bag challenge from Crafty Gemini and decided to check out your channel. I’ve been searching for a cute bag to use up my many small pieces. I think I can make this work. Now on to binge watching your channel while I work on my new bag.
What a cute tote!! I love making totes, they are quick, fun and make great gifts. I noticed there were a lot of comments about quilting the bag. With the fusible fleece you don’t really need it, but you could certainly stitch in the ditch. With that cute braided design, you definitely want it to be the star of the bag.
Omg, that little strap trick is ingenious! 😃
I just came over from watching Vanessa, love her lots! This is my first time her and I enjoyed it thoroughly and I believe I will be making this tote from my scraps. Thanks bunches! 💚
I love that you made a bag! I primarily make bags of all sorts and I LOVE this pattern. I'm so excited to try this
Awesome@ Love your show. Also the BAG YOU CREATED!
Loved this collaboration between two of my favorite KZreadrs! Think I'm going to try on making one of these bags! :)
I just knew what you had inside the completed bag! 🍷 Another great video, even though you are the master quilter I knew you’d have this project “in the bag”!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!
love watching both of yall watch all the time so cute
I love this bag pattern. I love your videos and watch them all. I also subscribe to The Crafty Gemini so glad you two came together to give us all this beautiful project. Thanks!!❤️
I absolutely love the fact that she combines red wine with popcorn! I need to try this. And the craft as well :)
Two of my very favorite ladies! 💜💜💜
After I finish a quilt I always make a tote from the left overs. So I have nothing left I put the scraps together as per a jelly roll race and this determines the size. I do like your pattern though so will give it a try after next quilt.
Yay!! So cute! Can’t wait to try it!
I absolutely love both totes made by two of my favourite KZread woman!!! Can't wait to do both too!!
This is just what I’ve been looking for - a cute bag that will use a jelly roll! I’m new to your channel too! Can’t wait to watch some of your other videos! Late night sewing with a glass of wine… perfect!!
Wow!!! both part looks great I love it, well done for the first time girl

I have been watching her for a while now and I think she is a great teacher---but, that is what she used to do, from what I understand.
I have made Vanessa's Improv tote bag with Bosal In-R-Form Plus a few times (okay maybe like 10... or more, of them) and love how they come together. I really like this chain pattern and will certainly be making one of them very soon! It's such a pretty design. In answer to some of the other viewer's questions, I personally pinch the lining closed and sew an 1/8 inch seam to close it up. Being on the bottom, no one can see it and I find that it is more secure that way. Thanks for another amazing video, Angela!!
Had so much fun watching you make the bag. I’m going to visit the Crafty Gemini now. By the way the bag is beautiful!
I came here from Crafty Gemini. You and I sew/quilt/craft the same way. A bowl of popcorn, an adult beverage and late nights. It use to be out of necessity due to work & family but now it's so ingrained I find it difficult to sit at my machine before the sun goes down. :) Thanks for a great tutorial. You're a lot of fun to watch.
you can totally quilt that bag next time. I LOVE IT and you did a spectacular job!
This is my first time here. Love The Crafty Gemini!
Thank-you Angela I loved this and can not wait to make it!
I love your bag!! And Vanessa’s!! I can’t wait to make 1! 😊
This is the perfect overnight bag size!!! Love it.. thank you
I love your chatting whilest sewing so much! My new favourite quote now from you: "Close enough is good enough and finished is better than perfect... maybe... not so much in brain surgery..." ^^ And thanks for the input and the inspiration! You're doing a great job in motivating!
I have made 4 of these bags now but I make them whole cloth bags that I have quilted. They go together SEW quickly & are the most sturdy & stylish bags! Of course, I have to totally hack the straps for a great end result & no pulling the fabric up through the strap tube. I have been using denim or home decor weight fabric with a linen lining. Love, love, love this bag that goes to the library, the beach, on trips to here or there!!
I Love This!!! You are so fun!!! My fav is Crafty Gemini so glad I found your KZread page!!!
I watch the Crafty Gemini a lot but this is the first time I've watched one of your tutorials. . . wow! . . . I love how you use all those little pieces of fabric. . . obviously, you are a quilter. I am not sure I can make everything line up evenly like you did, but I'd like to try it. I just ordered a walking foot, so I hope that will help. I don't like to turn the handles but I really like how you turned your handles inside out, too. Beautiful result!
My first time here from Crafty Gemini. I love both the bags yall made.
Love this project. Looking forward to making me one. Thanks for the Tutorial.
You are so adorable! Found you when watching Vanessa. Definitely am going to make this one! Thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous, nice for the coming summer. I am going to make the inside of waterproof material for the wet towels that arrive with monotonous cycles. Many thanks, Tina xxxxxxxx
I love watching your videos. So fun and well done.
I love making bags, going to give this one a go, as got lots of scraps. Great video thank you x
